A console Dissidia would be exciting.
It being some kind of FF All Stars JRPG with a new/classic FF battle system, old school world map, etc. would be amazing. :}

They considered FFX | X-2 HD a remake, or at least called it that. So no, this is not a HD remaster. It will either be a sequel or a new IP. For home consoles.

Very little, at least this particular game. They are talking to Famitsu. I don't think they would be talking to Famitsu about Deus Ex.

I wouldn't expect an online Kingdom Hearts for a while either considering it would eat into FFXIV.(though that would be awesome)

A console Dissidia really seems like a great idea.

So my dream would be either:

FF6, 7, 8 or 9 sequel (Yeah, that's right, not a remake, but a sequel, a sequel on the level of a new game though, not a quick and dirty cash grab)

FFX prequel closer to FFX than FFX-2.

New Chrono.

However, I imagine it will be a new IP, which is pretty exciting in itself.

Console Bravely Default?

I wonder why they haven't mentioned PC though, it's VERY early days, but I'd imagine SE would be clever and all future titles would also release on PC close to the console dates and not years later/never, the power and size of Steam pretty much make it a no brainer for future releases.

Hmm, very interested to see what comes out of this.

I really hope it's not Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest.

It's about damn time to revive one of their dormant franchises like SaGa, Chrono, Mana, etc. A new IP would also be a pleasant surprise.

it's funny SE making a new console RPG is actually a ground breaking news these days. I'll keep my hopes in check however still. It's gonna be a FF/ DQ or some low tier studio contract game.

I think it's going to be DQXI, hopefully for Steam too.

My secret wish is a new Chrono game, full OST by Mitsuda, game scope like trigger but art style similar to the oniric Cross style but in full glorious nextgen 3d - Dream Engine or whatever

If it's DQ on a home console, I will start saving and finally get a current gen console.

Although I did that for DQ VII 3DS and it's still not localized. Love my 3DS anyway, though.

Oh yeah, this could be something from the eidos devision as well.

Edit: or it couldn't.
Considering this is supposed to be a jrpg.

There is always a catch with Square Enix.


It will be F2P or it will be exclusive to the Wii U or something silly.

He did like some brief writing for a crossover event with another game.

He clearly has a different project as his main job.

The timing isn't ridiculous for Dragon Quest either, but he is about up.

I think we are already pretty sure a new Deus Ex is in the works. He could have been referring to that , but hopefully not.

The biggest news would be a new Chrono game. With Mitsuda doing the soundtrack. Tears would be shed. But the odds of that are astronomically low.

A console Bravely Default is possible.

Star Ocean, Nier ,The Last Remnant, Drakengard are possible.

Equally huge news would be a new AAA RPG IP. Something large in scope ala Legend of Dragoon or Xenogears. Maybe partnering with Sony for a 1st party RPG. That would be huge. The odds of all this very low.


Sigh, it's probably Final Fantasy or DQ related.

Dragon Quest makes the most sense. I think they will use Dragon Quest Heroes to build an audience. And then announce the next Dragon Quest, however it will be cross gen between PS3/PS4. It will also probably be more Multiplayer focused, but still have a competent single player story. I also think Sony will announce PS1 and PS2 Classics for PS4, and re-release DQVIII for PSN.

It has to be Romancing SaGa 4, please be RS4.

Kawazu said a new SaGa was in the works and was supposed to be revealed in June or July this year.

consoles

rules out mobile and 3DS.

RPG that isn't a remake :

-No FF7 Remake

-Not a new mainline FF because FFXV is happening.

-Spin off FF on console ? A dissidia type game ? A new idea ?

-DQ?Well there is Heroes..so Idk if they would announced a new DQ so soon.

-New IP ?
