The director for the Suicide Squad, David Ayer, tweeted out this picture yesterday of the Suicide Squad's first read. It confirms a few of the rumored casting and introduces a few new faces.

This will either be surprisingly fantastic or a disaster, and I can't wait to find out which.

Cast is mostly solid, so it should be fun regardless.

Would've been nice if they just made CCH Pounder as Waller though. She would be a better fit, in addition to playing the character before.

That cast more or less reveals the redshirts.

I also don't trust Will Smith not to ruin a movie with an ensemble cast.

I've always liked Adam Beach. Good to see him get cast here. I think the cast looks really good overall, lot of potential.

Would also point out, one of the more (most?) diverse cast we've seen for a comic book movie.

Even with the "core" team

Nothing with Jai Courtney in it has ever been good. I fear for this movie...

Never seen it, but people seem to enjoy Spartacus... other than that, right there with you.

About Jim Parrack.
I'm not sure I want a younger Deathstroke. I would prefer Stephen Lang. But as long as he kicks ass, I think I will be okay.

This sounds like something Will Smith did during a drunken bet one night. You just know its going to be the Will Smith Squad with guest appearances by the Suicide Squad. Everything feels wrong. :(

I have a sneaking suspicion that this movie is going to have two good acts and end with a terrible third act involving a car chase that ends with a grandiose standoff between the two leads.

Error

Jealous of the Glory that is Johnny Depp

That's my one fear. Wanting to be THE main character at all times.

The New 52
Deathstroke
is a much younger man. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they did it so they could make the character a bigger player in the DCU films.

Also if
Deathstroke
has as prominent a role in Suicide Squad as we're lead to believe then I seriously doubt that Parrack would be playing him. I've never even heard of this kid before so it seems like he's really come out of nowhere.

Especially as Manganiello tweeted that he was in talk for a role in SS but it wasn't
Deathstroke
. Apparently.

Please be an awesome movie.

Speaking as a David Ayer fan I feel confident in saying that there's no way he's going to shit the bed on this.

Smith will be great if what he's given is good. Dude was killer in the 90s and early 00s

He never lost it either imo, it's just his film choices were not so good

And they continue not being good.

Who actually thought this was going to work? Looks horrible. Leto as the Joker is the only good thing to look forward to.

Bummer :(

Though I think Jared Leto might pull off a good Joker...the rest of the cast I'm just not feeling. Will Smith in particular as Deadshot is not something I'm looking forward to. Will most likely pass on this film.

Something I hope Warner Bros continues.

Only if Waller doesn't kill them first. I expect at least one neck-bomb explosion inside the first 30 minutes.
Should be expected. Just a question of who and how many.

I find it interesting that Batman v Superman is suppose to open/blow off the door on the hero side of things. At least when it comes to the Justice League. Suicide Squad seems positioned to the same thing for villains and wouldn't be surprised if they reappear and paired up against other heroes in their solo films even if they're not historically villains for that hero.
