FGW | USA WINS 1-1

CEO was pretty awesome, makes me think EVO top 8 might be a dud. What notable Japanese players were missing?

Emphatic agreement. This should not be the title. There were some amazing performances by US players this weekend, and 801Strider really showed himself a contender on the global stage.

you're only remembered for your last performance, it's really annoying imo

My vote.

(It's not a discredit to Strider. It's commentary on never winning)

He did far better than anyone expected, but we will see at EVO if he's able to perform just as well in the most stacked tournament. He has come a long way, but winning against worldwide competition is very tough. He's still lacking in high profile tournament experience, but I think he's already better from participating in the final. Smug is also progressing quite nicely, but reaching that last step is incredibly tough (the US scene certainly isn't an advantage in reaching the top since there's a wider talent gap than in Japan).

James Chen is slowly getting the SkiSonic treatment. People are just looking for him to say something inaccurate so they can go in on him
