fuck.. had the worst workout ever.

on the weekend, benched 90kg for reps
today? struggled to do 80kg for 5 reps

bleh

Sometimes it happens. If it happens again, though, there's an issue. We all have Weenie Days.

Hey guys, kinda been doing my own workout past few months. I've been trying to gain some muscle but I think I've overdone it on the eating and gained more unwanted fat than I wanted.

I want to keep my strength and lose the fat until I decide to start bulking again. I'm aware of what I need to do as far as eating, but I'm concerned about my strength abilities wavering.

So my quick question is:
If I keep doing strength training routines similar to what I've been doing for the past few months--but adjust my eating to the correct macros ratio + calorie deficit--will I still be able to lift (or whatever it is I'm doing) as much as I can now after two months? As long as I don't STOP working out that muscle group?

Thanks guys!

It turns out squats are really hard after getting over heavy chest congestion! It felt impossible to breath. So my reset only results in a measly 225x10 when I know I had more in me :/

New rack, new bar, new weights... same old completely fucked bench.

Not sure what I was expecting really. lol

Edit - Just knocked up one of those mental calorie smoothies. At least my eating is on point!

I just started EC stacking this week and YO, WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING WITH MY LIFE

Ever since going off of my meds a couple months ago, my appetite has been insatiable. But the past three days I've skipped both breakfast and lunch - saving me money and calories in the process. And when I HAVE been eating, I'm not even hungry! It's the notice of low energy brought on from lack of food that has been prompting me into dinner.

This stuff is awesome, but I have a few questions:

1. Are there any supplements I can take to help "balance" this out? For example, I read fish oil is a good compliment, but I couldn't track down any compelling reasons as to why. I've also read ephedrine decreases potassium - is there just a general multivitamin that's robust enough for this to cover all of my bases? Especially with my sharp reduction in food intake (which is a good thing overall, as I still have about 50 lbs to drop), I don't want to get malnourished.

2. Is it okay to drink alcohol while stacking?

3. Why didn't I start this years ago?

400ml milk,
2 x scoop of protein,
3 x scoop of oats
40g peanut butter
1 x banana
15g coconut oil

Next time I'm going to swap some of the milk for icecream or something. :D

Down to 186lbs BW, with a little over a week to go until Spring Break. I don't think I'll look ripped before hitting 175 or 170, but it's a good change from 200 in January.

24/7 gym is worth it right? I mean it's not even more expensive than mine since I pay less only because it's no cardio and 3 times a week while in 24/7 one it's unlimited but it is 7km from my home while current one is 1.4 so like 10 minutes more driving?

Today felt off. Did some front squats but wasn't feeling it. Ended up doing sumo deadlift because why not.

Watching two guys doing deadlifts one was either doing deadlifts or curling or doing rows... All at the same time

Did high bar squats 4x4 with 295 and then an amrap of 8. Followed that with conventional deads 5x3 with 375 and an amrap of 6. Incorporated Max Aita's tips from the supertraining vid he was in and had no back pain during high bar.

This doesn't really answer any of your questions, but when I did the EC stack I remember I would sill get hungry.

I usually have breakfast around 6am and lunch around noon, and I'd always feel a bit hungry by 9am or so.

So I always wondered to myself if the appetite suppression was real or just placebo.

When I finally came off the stack, the first few weeks I'd always be STARVING come 9am, it was a night and day difference.

I would say for gyms, it always better to pick something that's reasonably on your route between work and home.

24/7 gyms are good because if you know you like to go at weird hours you never really have to worry about rushing through your workout, and you'll probably have the place to yourself as well.

Most likely yes. You may lose a rep here and there but nothing major if you diet sensibly.

I was looking at older pictures of me from about 3-4 years ago.

You guys were too nice to me. I look like a skinny fat doughy boy.

but at the time it was the best you had looked so far so that deserved praise.

at least that's how I see things about the progress thing.

the first years are a lose-lose scenario, the way I see it.

.- got abs and defining lines? nice. Your arms, traps and chest are non-existent, failure.

.- got mass? nice. You look like a nice pudgy doughy boy. failure.

I guess it's possible to follow a path that remains aesthetically consistent through the years but it takes like a decade (I assume) til we can speak of muscle mass

Is there a good vid on how to sumo deadlift? Never done one before but would like to learn.

No, I'm glad you shared! It's bizarre to me that I've heard so little about this when it's completely legal and has made a tremendous difference (at least in the first week, anyway)

Did you eat before taking the stack? I read on a bodybuilding forum (ugh) that it works best on an empty stomach - but it would be nice to get some energy in me when I wake up if I'm going to keep skipping lunch.

If you didn't notice the appetite suppression, what was the main benefit you got out of stacking? It makes me less tired, sure, but I've read people online say it gives them a tremendous surge of energy and alertness - which I haven't found at all. Maybe I just need to up my dose, but I'm on 25mg (which is just one pill), but doubling that to 50 seems too risky.

How long were you on it?

Everyone deserves kindness especially when they are working hard to change

Then again it was you, so you're right, people should have been meaner to your terrible ass! I'll never forgive you for the beatdown you gave me at Virtua Fighter 5 FS during Fight of Fighters 2013. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ff-F9e9KQE

I did it for sixteen weeks I think. One dose right after breakfast, and one right after lunch. Maybe if I'd done it on an empty stomach I would have had even less appetite. Taking it with meals for me made it easier to keep consistent though.

Yeah if your finding your still getting hungry, i would try taking it on an empty stomach, or going up to 3 doses a day instead of two. I never seen anything recommending taking more than 25mg of E at a time, so I personally wouldn't try that.

to answer one of your questions from your earlier post. The reason fish oil is recommended with the EC stack is because the ephedrine raises your heart rate, and can also constrict your blood vessels. Both things can cause high blood pressure in people who are prone to it, and the fish oil has been shown to lower blood pressure. However there's no guarantee your blood pressure will be pushed to dangerous levels so it's not strictly necessary to take anything else.

Ephedrine is a terrible thing, for me. I remember my experience with it in my 20s. My heart would jack up quite a bit and I'd turn into a real asshole. My first and only experience with going legitimately berserk happened then, and I never want to get that angry again in my life. I would turn into a savage. I ate entire salads in moments with my hands. It might sound alright but it ain't. Fuck that shit.

And don't forget to make sure they have a shower if you intend to go before work in the morning... I went to check out a 24hr Fitness by my carpool spot thinking it would work great, but I noticed the long wall of lockers out in the open so asked about showers. They had none. Deal breaker, and was the final straw in me plunking down the money for home gym.

If you are heading home after gym, probably not as big of a deal.

No showers are the only big downside at my gym. Fortunately I live close by so I can shower at home before work.

for oly lifters, do you clean & jerk and snatch the same day or split them up into different days?

for the past month (since learning oly), my workouts have been going like this:

"A" days C&J:
3x5 Front Squats
3x5 ohp (overhead press)
5x3 C&J

"B" days Snatch:
5x3 ohs (overhead squats)
3x5 bench
5x3 snatch

i would start incorporating pulls but my gym doesnt have bumper plates.

Depends on how long you have to train. If you only have an hour, I'd say split them up because it takes me a good 20-30 minutes to warm up and get to a decent working weight in either lift.

LOL jking. Great job! I've never tried more than 315 in incline so far. Perhaps i'll go for 320 or 325. Should be fun.!

Nice woosh this morning. Down 2.6 to 220.6lbs. My lowest ever was 218.4, so nearly at all new lows.

What's the goal?
