Well they did give FFXIII a 5 didn't they? And this month Cave Story, a game originally made by one person, an 8. I still think they're pretty solid with their judging process and aren't afraid to give low scores to high profile games. It's the same old "different strokes" nonsense really.
Not that I've never disagreed with any of their scores before. Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 both deserve higher scores in my humble onion.

When the game fails to function correctly or in the way the developers said it would, being let down is the natural feeling.
The best games in my experience are the ones I go in with little-to-no expectations because I put myself on black out, or didn't know anything about it them to begin with. All the PR, previews, videos, bullshots... it's best if people just stay away.

Their scores can get predictable at times. I pretty sure Halo Reach will get a 10 from them too, because they found all the Halo game mechanics to be perfect. There is nothing wrong with it. I just don't think they are hard reviewers. Edge does fall in love with certain game mechanics more than the others.

Seriously I always take EDGE's reviews seriously, they seem to have a mind of their own and usually rates games lower than what most people think they deserve.
