If you guys thought people got salty playing SFV, try some For Honor. Tons of babies playing that right now.
Nice lol. Do they have a proper banning system? I haven't really seen much outside of the few moments I played at a friend's place.

I need LP bans everywhere! In every game!

Ok back home now. Overall the event was some solid fun. Got my T-shirt and everything.

Line was long as hell, though:

The rule of thumb I was using at my station was 1 game of Kolin, then a FT3 with our mains(or Kolin mirror) to decide who stays on the setup. I wound up sitting there for a little under 2 hours before it was time for me to leave so I got a ton of time in with Kolin. Here's some stuff I found out:

  • All her grounded normals that I tested were special-cancelable except for cMK, cRH and sRH.
  • cMK is V-Trigger cancelable, but not Super cancelable.
  • she has super good dashes like season 1 Nash, really good with her LMH target combo to confirm into super
  • she is otherwise SLOW AS MOLASSES, and her back RH is one of the slowest pokes in the game. I'm almost certain it's slower than a regular jump arc.

Hol Horse ice balls
  • super negative if you cancel into them on block.
  • ice balls disappear if Kolin gets hit, EXCEPT for the EX version. if you cancel into EX on block, you combo break your opponent's punish and can get a combo.
  • the delay gives you enough time to do a couple dashes if you dump them midscreen

Hundred Hand Slaps
  • light and EX versions are safe on block, cancels into super

Short Swing Blow
  • I'm not too sure on the properties on this move, I was able to stuff it pretty much every time on reaction.

Counters
  • The startup on these things are fast. I dunno if it's frame 1, but it seemed like it was triggering off of meaty attacks. I was testing it in kolin mirrors so I'm not certain.

V-Skill
  • Surprisingly decent poke, comes out faster than her other ranged options and seems safe enough when spaced.

V-trigger:
  • This move is AMAZING. easy confirm off of cMK, MASSIVE corner carry and tons of frame advantage on block. Plus, you get two per activation. Not much damage, but it's a super good move. Not sure if you can juggle with it, the move keeps the opponent airborne the whole time they ride the spikes.

My first impressions are that she's surprisingly clunky when standing yet mobile with her dashes, and a ton of fun. A little wackier than the rest of the cast.

This sounds good. I'm super excited.

Also forgot some properties of the ice balls:

The attack is 2 parts, her hand swipe and the actual projectile, but the ice ball doesn't have a hitbox until it starts falling.

If you hit the opponent with the hand swipe it seems to stop quick rises like Nash's Tragedy assault. That said, the ice block falls before the opponent can get back up so you don't get any mixups off ot it when used that way. Maybe if you anti air with the swipe itself?

So can you use the projectile as a zoning tool at all?

I'm liking what I see and hear of Kolin's playstyle, I'm not one for characters with projectiles but I think Kolin's is unorthodox enough to not bother me.

Was there any new information about CPT Season 2 given at the event? Or information about anything else, for the matter?

No.

@Floejisan
I hate Kolins normals and all the ideas i had are completely artificially limited =(

We know that feel Floe.

Relative to other character's, she looks pretty fun though. I'm more interested in how Infiltration will play her, because it sounds like a character he might enjoy with his style.

T-shirt? Any pictures?

As for the stream, it was almost 3am in U.K. until it started so I completely dozed off! Seems like Kolin and the event was really fun so I'll deffo watch when it's up on YouTube.

I knew that would happen. It's just a fighting game in a different package, kind of like Dark Souls pvp. Are people calling for nerfs alread? Is a certain tactic "cheap" and "broken" eventhough there are counters to it? I'm not really following that scene.

Ahh. Wasn't there still occasions where it actually wouldn't even register later?
Basically, if you get the 40006 error it means it couldn't immediately communicate with the server, but will continue to try. If you get the 80001 (I think) about a minute later then it couldn't do it and the result is lost and no one got points. Pretty sure the replay is missing then, too.

I hate that I even know this...

Lupe event was saved cause of that last match. FChamp did well.

Idk is Fuudo better mika? his footsies cray. Also that 15 yr old bison crazy
Well, Du 3-1'd Fuudo on the mirror last week. But then they ran it back and Fuudo beat both Du's Mika and his Guile pretty convincingly.

Holy shit - I just realized something about Kolin. She has a mechanic that makes her opponent want to hit her (she freezes your stun bar with her v-trigger; freeze goes away when she gets hit). Then, she has a counter that is a special, which does a ton of damage, and a v-skill which is also a counter. She can force her opponent into wanting to attack her, only to then getting countered. Her mind games have the potential to be truly evil.

Kolin's normals looking all sorts of struggle

sounds like a SFV character fr fr
My kinda character

It's like FANG, but useful

Kolin sounds less fun by the moment but I still want to try her first before writing her off.

They took away cancellable sweep smh

Feel like that's how FANG should have been designed tbh.

When Kolin freezes your stun bar, can the ice eventually go away on its own? Or is it only after you hit her?

Only after you hit her. And, if she does get hit, she can hit you with it one more time per v-trigger. Fishing for counters when your opponent is in a cold state is gonna be really good. Luckily, it won't be too OP - characters with a command grab (Mika, Gief, Alex) should be able to beat her counters pretty good. Also, apparently if Kolin whiffs a counter, she is in a CC state, much like whiffing a DP, so this strategy won't be too OP.

Empty-jumping into Kolin is gonna be fun to bait out those counters.

I heard the first hit was cancellable? Either way its by far the most struggle sweep i've ever seen in a street fighter game

I don't agree, they're both different archetypes.

Well...... you're not wrong.
What I mean is I think FANG should have been a character who essentially annoys/presses you into chasing him down with his poison and then becomes hard to catch once you do. As is it feels like there's never too much pressure to either avoid his poison or chase him down to take it off because a) the poison doesn't do much damage as is and b) it wears out on its own anyway (again, after not doing too much damage).

Just my two cents.

I now see what people are saying about Byron being one of the characters.
I still don't see Byron there. It looks like some kind of monster with the massive brow and bolts/nails/whatever in the neck. Maybe it's an Illuminati creation, like SF's take on Jack from Tekken?

Edit: CFN says Kolin has 1000 health and stun. Is this old news?

Perhaps a Jax from MK type scene? Military guy with a suit/enhancements?

We had a weird ass chart from the japanese site that made no sense.

This is the first concrete source on that.
