Donnie, I posted photos of the DC Universe by Mike Mignola hardcover on the FB group. I tagged you. Check it out. Looks pretty sweet!

So many hours spent bagging and boarding instead of reading comics.

Only physical single issues I will never get rid of are the DC The New Frontier issues. So beautiful and it's my favorite comic story.

Oooookay, so, I just finished reading through Age of Apocalypse.

Ah AoA. One of my favorite events. Especially my second favorite 90s event. Great fun. I'm a sucker for elseworld/alternate version stories and when it hit, the x-men was just without any momentum and it was a huge shot in the arm. I'd love to re-read it again sometime. Glad you enjoyed it!

So many hours spent bagging and boarding instead of reading comics.

I kept my favorite ~30 or so floppies from the 80s and 90s in bags with boards for, I dunno, nostalgia? I'll let my boy open them up in the future if he's interested.

I do have a small CGC collection. I don't know what I'll ever do with them other than look at them on occasion. Nothing is on display. I could flip my Y: The Last Man #1 for cash, but that's my favorite comic series and I don't see myself ever parting with it.

So The Legend of Wonder Woman is great? I probably just going to get either that or George Perez's run Vol 1 if I feel in the classic mood.

Is this that couple that DC fired for ripping people off? Names sound familiar. I've heard good reviews on the story.

Apparently Here's a free WW rebirth #1 issue

In other news. Batman fans should check out this latest collection that came out. After No mans land, Ruckas Detective Comics run was excellent. One of my favorite runs still. The start of the run used an unique 2-3 tone coloring technique. It's never been properly collected before. Just a random collection here or there. It eventually got interrupted with events and he wobbled a bit with the Bruce body guard arc. But that's in later issues

Well, they apparently did rip people off for commissions. But the reason they were fired was much more likely to be the husband of the wife-husband creative team saying less-than-flattering things about DC stuff and fellow DC creators, if I remember correctly.

There was some kickstarter shenanangings a few years ago but they were fired because DeLiz's husband Ray Dillon was running his mouth about DC on twitter and other DC books tagging DC in every tweet. Fucking moron.

Ah how unfortunate, especially since part 2 of the series was being set it motion, but well, running your mouth at the company you are currently working for is not going to end well.

Guess I got my memories crossed. I remember reading about a husband/wife team ripping people off on commissions and taking new with without delivering. Also raising money for rent or something. He was supposedly really combative on Twitter.

I'm hazy on the facts and don't tweet. I might have read about it on here.

Badmouthing DC would get them fired, sure.

Is there any reason why DC takes forever to lower the prices on their Rebirth books? I drift in and out of comics and paying $2.99 for old books isn't too appealing. :(

Sorry to complain.

That was sort of their pitch initially. We're a buck cheaper than Marvel. I don't think they've dropped the prices much on issues. Might be cheaper if you go the trade route.

That's actually completely valid. That's the one place where it feels like they've taken a step back. It's not just $2.99 Rebirth books, either; even the Young Animal books don't get a price reduction like they used to do before Rebirth. :/

Maybe with how behind I am. I guess I got used to N52 where everything would drop at least a dollar or seemed like it was on sale frequently enough that I could cheaply catch up.

And those are a dollar more and even with sales only a few issues go on sale.

At least Image hasn't betrayed me.

So maybe stop doing threads three months in advance. :3

I'm not going to have time to change anything until late tomorrow afrernoon.

you really want a list 2-3 days in advance? can't imagine you not bitching about that. If you can't do the changes I will do them. its no big deal.

Yeah it sucks DC doesn't pricedrop like they used to. Made it easy for me to try random books I was interested in on slow weeks.

I agree with this. Its the reason I haven't tried Deathstroke past #1-3 (I didn't enjoy those but people keep raving) or Green Lanterns,Flash.

Both situations involved them. The firing was recently and the commission/kickstarter books thing was years ago. She was asked by fans when the firing happened to set up a gofund me as they have several kids and she was pregnant at the time and couldn't afford living expenses/christmas for kids until some cheques from dc/other jobs in the new year. She had a lot of goodwill from the wonder woman run it seems.

ComiXology said that they won't be dropping in price and DC doesn't seem to like putting them on sale.

Read Sexcastle last night. Met the hype. Was dope and fun and clever in little ways that add up.

I can't get over how good Gary Frank is. This art is just beyond gorgeous.

Haha, quite a few. I think I might be the only one that's active on it, though.

I always wonder how people feel about Frank. I love his stuff and buy just about anything he draws.

So much wasted space. I can't...

When the big nuclear war happens and all your devices break due the EMP, we are the only ones who can still read our funnies and teach upcoming generations valuable lessons like that viligantism is ok, when your parents were shot in a back alley, that with great power, great responsibility comes and that you have the best sex if you can use your mutation to shrink on ant size.

With Wonder Woman coming around to the cinemas tomorrow, I've been in somewhat of a Wondy mood, seeing the 2009 animation for the first time recently too. I see a lot of her series is on sale on Neogaf, and I came across a recommendation thread where "Legend of Wonder Woman" and the current Rebirth series were mentioned. I'm just not sure if people are talking about the Legend of Wonder Woman of 2015 or the 1986 one? I really like the art of the 2015 series but I have a feeling it's the old one from the 80s I should go through?

I also have another question for the comic readers in general, since I only really got back into it last year. How many series do you read simultaneously? Because I've find myself reading both the Mark Miller run of Daredevil and The Immortal Iron Fist and having to start over on both since its been awhile since I read their last issues and I had forgotten about the plots and developments. Maybe I should just read like 3 series at a time and go through some that are already finished?

I would love to start up and finish The Immortal Iron Fist, and the Mark Miller one of Daredevil since both are done and finished. And then I would also like to read one of the Wonder Woman ones as she's growing with me exponentially due to the movie, and the current Black One run is magnificent so I'm till #5 on that one. But maybe I shouldn't spread myself too thin? Is it required to read all the individual series during an event like Rebirth for example?

My takeaway from The Lazarus Contract conclusion:

Damien. sucks. so. much. ass. He fucked up The Flash's heart, kicked Kid Flash off the team, and was a little shit the entire issue. And really how would Slade saving his son change the timeline more than a bunch of future Titans showing up and almost murdering Wally West and traumatizing the old Titans team in the process? Deathstroke should have lopped some heads off.

It's the 2015 Legend of Wonder Woman series. If you're going to read any Wonder Woman from the 80s it's the George Perez run.

Sexcastle was a lot of fun. I met Kyle Starks at a con last year and he was super cool.

Thank you, I'm gonna add that to my basket. I think I'm gonna have to come up with a very small list of series I start and finish, so that I don't just drop them midway.
