‘The Mandalorian’: Temuera Morrison Returns to ‘Star Wars’ Universe to Play Boba Fett (Exclusive)

'The Mandalorian' is bringing a familiar helmet back to the Star Wars galaxy. Temuera Morrison, who played Jango Fett in 2002's Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, will appear in season two of the Disney+ Star Wars series.

The Mandalorian is bringing a familiar helmet back to the Star Wars galaxy.

Temuera Morrison, who played Jango Fett in 2002's Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, will appear in season two of the Disney+ Star Wars series.

Welp, so it's confirmed. I've been saying we need to see Boba Fett make an appearance in the series, now we got it. This plus Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tona make it seem that Mando and Baby Yoda season 2 will be something epic indeed.

Plus I imagine it's another middle finger to Kathleen Kennedy by bringing back another OT character. Good news all around.

Never watched the Clone Wars so I've no idea who Ashoka is but Rosalia Dawson should be good. Can't wait, hope the virus doesn't delay season 2.

Honestly this is like the least surprising thing ever. Wow the tv show based on an action figure is going to feature the original action figure wow wow. Boba Fett tv show which was entirely based on Boba Fett’s costume design is going to feature Boba Fett.

I don’t know it’s just not interesting to me. Mando was almost a new character even though Jawas and Tatooine and all the OT stuff. Very little made him different from Boba. He even had carbon freeze in his ship. Now they straight gonna bring him back too? Lol did they run out of things to rip off?

Only thing worse is seeing all the bad hot take saying Boba Fett was never cool. These people need to rewatch Empire.

There's a lesser known sequel to Once Were Warriors called What Becomes of the Broken Hearted. Not as good as the first one, but worth checking out if you're a fan. I'd never heard of it until I moved to New Zealand. Continues the story of Jake. Jake the Mus.

George Lucas was really weird with some of his casting choices in the prequels. He'd get some good actors who weren't necessarily well known but did make waves in some smaller films, and then proceed to cast them in thankless roles that hardly amounted to much. The most sad example being Terence Stamp.

You get General Zod in your flick and give him what amounts to fuck-all screentime? He's just a plot device for Palapatine to movie in as Chancellor of the New Republic.

And then there's Temuera's fellow New Zealander, Keisha Castle Hughes.

This girl was nominated for Best Actress in Whale Rider when she was only 13 years old! And all she gets is a few seconds of screentime as Padme's replacement in Naboo at the end of Revenge of the Sith. What a waste...

What was the point of casting such noted actors in such thankless roles? Lucas could have cast some unknowns and gotten the same result.

Well, at least he had the sense to give Christopher Lee a big part in the prequels as Dooku.

Boba Fett was my favorite thing in the world as a kid, I'm glad he's back I don't care if people think it's lame - he deserves better than where Lucas left him in ROTJ. I knew immediately it was him in that end credits scene in Season 1, so I knew this was coming. I just hope he's not overused, he was always better as a minor mystery character and the rest left up to imagination or expanded universe stuff.

The bigger crime in regards to Stamp was why they didnt let the poor guy brush his hair. I'd have voted no confidence just for that.

Sadly, Disney didnt do much better considering how wasted the raid guys were, Lupita being relagated to a useless off-brand Yoda role, Christie getting stuck with the sad joke that was Phasma, and Ngo Thanh Van getting cast as Paige Tico instead of Rose when she's a better actress/stunt performer and prettier than Tran.

Met him in 2005 when he was walking passed me in a hall at a hotel. I was wearing a Red Sox jersey at the time and he made a comment, “go Red Sox”, kinda shocked me since he isn’t American. Had a brief conversation about Star Wars, etc.

Hes basically a walking swiss army knife. It should be pretty easy to explain. Honestly, I dont event think they need to.

I like it but its was a bit jarring to me that its basically almost a collection of barely connected self sustained stories. I was expecting something more of an overarching narrative (which is there but relegated to the background for a lot of the episodes).

There's also just some strange staging that doesnt really work for me (why the river styx reference? why didnt anybody try to shoot the flame trooper when he walked into the room? I found myself asking a lot of questions like this throughout the show)

Overall its pretty good though, I will definitely reboot my subscription when Season 2 gets here.

There are definitely a couple filler episodes, but the really good episodes of S1 are REALLY good, imo. Episodes 3, 7, and 8 were phenomenal IMO (Deborah Chow directed two of them, Taika Waititi directs the finale). Those episodes gave me the most "Star Wars awe" I have felt in a long time.

This show is much better than the new Trilogy, more in line with Rogue One but also more fun.

Reminds me of SciFi shows like Stargate, etc., when he visits various worlds that contain their own story/conflicts going on along with his overall arch.

It's most definitely worth a watch. I am going to give a second run through soon since there are things I probably missed the first time.

depends. I personally hate the clone wars and rebels cartoons so the show isnt really appealing to me.
