I have found that the way of the samurai is death. This means that when you are compelled to choose between life and death, you must quickly choose death. ~Yamamoto Tsunetomo

Happy gaming

Mmmm ... So far I'd give it a 7/10. There seems to be a lot of little irritating things. It's good but not great (at the moment)

1: Stealth is impossible sometimes just because you have two people stood next to each other and they sometimes never separate.
2: There's nothing to distract them so you CAN separate them
3: The guiding wind sounds good on paper but it soon gets quite annoying
4: Not being able to mark enemies wasn't a good idea
5: You have to let yourself get killed to restart an area
6: finding the right icon in the villages is starting to get on my nerves. Make them visible ALL the time.
7: When I press circle to dodge, it would be nice if it did it every time instead of rolling most of the time.

FYI on 7: It's press circle once to dodge and twice to roll, you are just not used to it and accidentally pressing it more than once.

Yup, having recently replayed Fallen Order I’m absolutely destroying guys. I figured this might happen, at least early on.

I’m loving it. The sound production is insane and the music, at least when arriving at that fishing village with Yuna, sounded like something out of Witcher 3.

Also, the two main quests from the get go are absolute musts first thing. They give you the bow and assassinate ability. Highly suggested you get those first before binging out on the ?’s and side stuff.

Regarding 1 and 2, there's some upgrade options for those. You can both unlock a distraction to draw attention, and chained stealth kills

Played the intro/tutorial part and already spent a lot of time in photo mode, lol.

Game seems pretty dark or black crushed though. Had to bump brightness up and gamma on my TV a bit.

Is anyone else having about a one second delay pushing the analog stick all the way forward making Jin go from walk to run, or is my DS4 on the fritz?

Don't be ashamed, I died quite a bit too. There's alot of commands for combat at your fingertips, so for me it was remembering which commands were what and where. Once I got a handle on it, the fights get a bit easier.

Yeah it took me by surprise a bit.
It's definitely not even close to being frustratingly difficult and I'm really enjoying the combat, I just didn't expect to really die during the early battles on Hard.

Looking forward to a much longer session today. At the moment I intend to upgrade the Samurai skill tree primarily as I love the sword combat.

Ah this may explain why I died a few times yesterday. I played for three hours but did everything but the two main missions lol

One part in particular felt like I maybe needed to upgrade Jin a bit more as it was a large camp with many Mongolians that I think the game wanted me to stealth through rather than just charge in lol. There was a mini boss at the end that killed me a few times as well.

The AI doesn't looks to be broken in that video, it's as blind as intended...or it looks that way.
I've some hilarious shit with paper and cloth doors tho
It looks broken as fuck to me but okay.
If the ia can't notice when allies get murdered throught a paper door when they are that close i call that broken.
Also the enemies really see you if you go to them in a perfect straight line and i was not aware that mongols used this during war
901014-SH_1.jpg
They are literally blind and deaf.
Maybe the ia totally bugged in this video, it haloen to the best stealth games too but that is not a good showing.

Also i'm a bit bitter that i have to wait until tonight to play the game :messenger_crying:

Anyone think the game is kind of dark? In the beginning, if I calibrated it properly to see the eyes, the brightness would have been at like fucking 90. I'm playing it on an LG C8 with HDR.

Is there a way to get back to the calibration picture with the samurai eyes? I'm just seeing the in-game number with 50 being default now.

You can probably distract enemies by shooting arrows on walls or ground, it work in many games, give it a try.

Also you get firecrackers to distract enemies going forward with the game.

Don't you have a hearing mode like tlou to see enemies through walls? Maybe you still have to acquire that power.

Playing on hard. Still don't have a bow but I am having a blast! It may edge out TLOU2 for GoTY for me judging by how much I love it already. Anyone else using the photomode as a pause? It's a much prettier screen than the map lol

What the hell, I picked the black horse then the game chose the white one for me in next cutscene. And it's for the whole game? Damn it, I might wanna restart to fix this...

I'm loving every single second of this game. I knew I'd enjoy this, but not nearly this much. The wind mechanic and absence of a hud is brilliant. Makes the whole thing much more engrossing and immersive. Also the horse controls the best I've seen in a game save BotW's. Team #Kage.

I started out on hard and had to lower it, on normal I'm still getting my ass handed to me the majority of the time....with a wide grin all the while. The combat in this is phenomenal, it's gratifying as all fuck, I only wish the camera had a lock-on option, or at least soft-locked onto who you are pointing the left thumbstick to. I haven't even unlocked the other stances and have to continually babysit the camera. Hopefully fixed in an update, it's the one major gripe I have so far.

It can get pretty dark, noticed it as well. Wish Jin had a torch he could equip.

Does this have a dynamic day/night cycle? Can't tell if it's shifting with the missions or if it will gradually over time.
Lol i love that when you die those filthy mongorians take their time to kick your balls and slit your throat :lollipop_squinting:
Yeah they really like to rub it in and gloat. If it is for load screens it's pretty clever.

hmm after 3 hours of playing it, i think is my last game till ps5, im playing on medium some of the enemys are tough.

1 thing i wish they fix within update

1. enemy awareness

but nonetheless im loving it so far.

Got the game yesterday and played a little bit of it last night and I love it!

After the introduction where you ride into the field and is able to explore the Tsushima is an insane experience. It hits all the right notes for me, the game is truly beautiful. Though I wish we could preload different outfits, so it's easy to switch between ghost and samurai.

The Rad Brad has begun his playthrough. Does anyone else watch his walkthroughs?

I like Brad's personality and all, but he is too oblivious and a little too slow to finish some games. Although he has my outmost respect. I watched him since his dead space days but I ain't more his targeted audience since I don't have time to spend with his slow playthroughs. I hope he is doing amazing.

4 hours in...I think im not liking it too much.

Swipe up on touchpad to “follow the wind”in order to get to your destination, followed by a cheap sounding wind noise from the controller is gimmicky and really stupid.

As a huge AC fan, climbing feels like a step back from Assassins Creed 1, and I hated the first AC. Being limited to such a small amount of climbable spots doesn’t feel like it belongs in 2020.

Speaking of climbing, those rock textures look like they came straight from the PS4 launch days. The graphics are so bipolar. One moment you get this nice scene with wind blowing glistening grass and trees, and the next moment im standing on a cliff and the terrible LOD and muddy textures slap me in the face.

The intro felt like Ryse Son of Rome, thankfully without QTEs at least.

I hope I’m wrong in this one, and the word generic usually makes me cringe, but the story so far looks like it will be very generic. Hopefully it doesn’t end with the typical “beating the guy that beats you at the beginning in order to save a loved one”.

Is it possible to hide all the hud, and make it dynamically appear only in combat or with a button press, like horizon?

Just got stuck 30 min into the game. A slightly elevated path is OP for Jin lol. He kept jumping in place instead of walking, had to walk out of bounds to force a reload.

Yeah climbing is done poorly in general, but later on you'll get a gadget which will make it more exciting and easier.

Personally I liked guiding wind. It's better than having an obnoxious marker on the screen and you don't really have to use it that often to make sure if you're heading in the right direction.

So, decided to buy it after all. Forgot to do it yesterday, so no bonusses, but meh.

Going all Cinema Mode. Can't wait to play this.

Just a little hint about the wind mechanics.

If you find the game too much windy, it's because the game use wind even if you don't slide your fingers in the touchpad to summon the guide wind, just deselect the objective marker in the map and the wind will calm noticeably.

Basically the wind still guide you in some way if you have an objective marker activated in the map even without the player doing nothing, you can see leaves and particles going in the direction of your objective.

The more I play the more I think there should be an option for audio in English with an Italian accent. It would completely change the experience.

That's the case by default.
Great, thanks! In all videos/streams i always see the current objective and other info constantly on screen, so I was assuming it couldn't be deactivated. Good to know.

That's actually a pretty awesome way of navigating, sounds much more preferable to the "wind button".

LOL, can I ask why? :messenger_tears_of_joy:
There should be the Italian dub, if you're feeling bold.
