Because two entries of AMD's RX 6000 Series are only two days away at the time that I am typing this post, demand for them is certainly affecting demand for Nvidia's RTX 30 Series. Some PC gamers have probably decided to forego opportunities to get an RTX 30 Series card in order to wait for reviews of the RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT, due to the benchmark results shown at AMD's announcement event. Additionally, factors such as memory capacity may make the RX 6000 Series more attractive to PC gamers who want to upgrade: the RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT, as well as the RX 6900XT, all have 16GBs of GDDR6, whereas the RTX 3070 has 8GBs of GDDR6 and the RTX 3080 has 10GBs of GDDR6X; even though the RTX 3090 has a whopping 24GBs of GDDR6X, the card's MSRP of $1,499.99 makes its price to performance ratio poor in the eyes of most PC gamers, especially when they consider that the RX 6900 XT will cost $999.99, have 16GBs of GDDR6, and will trade blows with it.

So, PC gamers, how has the incoming RX 6000 Series affected your purchasing decisions? If you've intended to get an RTX 30 Series card, how has your quest for one turned out thus far?

Haven't got a card, but now I've decided to wait for the 3060 Ti, since it seems that's all that's needed to beat the level of raster and RT performance that I require of my PC.

I'm not worried about it. I sold my 2080 Ti and 2070 Super days before the official 30-series announcement and I still don't have a GPU...

It has been fun going back to playing my vast array of consoles as I await a GPU of 3060 Ti or above to go in stock.

A 3060Ti isn't as good as a 2080Ti, is it? Shouldn't you have just kept your 2080Ti?

If I kept them they would have just lost value. I almost always sell my GPU before they lose their value, or if I've had them a while and can recoup all my costs from them...

2070 Super was good enough for most of my needs so it will at least be an upgrade over that.

Yes, but now you're eyeing a weaker card. A 3060Ti is more powerful than a 2080 Super, not a 2080Ti, based on what I've read.

I know already.

It is enough for my current needs probably for the next year or so.

So, your goal is to save money? Slightly less performance for significantly less money? I take it that there's a difference between what you've been paid for your 2080Ti and what you'd pay for a 3060Ti, which you can save?

My goal is simply to not hold onto GPUs long enough so that they tank in value. I sold both GPUs before Ampere was announced then watched as prices tanked post announcement...

I've kept most of my cards (5870, 7970, and 1080Ti); I had a 980Ti but traded it for store credit at Micro Center and bought the 1080Ti.

Well, I want one, because the 1080TI doesn't cut it for 4k/60fps and obviously no RTX.

I hope I can get one before CP2077 launches next month (lol) but it's looking doubtful.

Don’t plan on going back to PC now with the next gen consoles out. We’ll see how long I can make it without a gaming pc, but at this point I just don’t really need or want one.

I'm still waiting for factory water cooled models (EVGA FTW3 Ultra Hydrocopper), probably won't be able to get one till next year

I'm waiting for RTX 3080 Ti 20 GB.

"RTX 3080 10 GB" is not a large enough upgrade from RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB with AIB OC.

If you have a 2080Ti, performance-wise it could make sense for some to wait, that's fine. And the idea of wanting a faster GPU is also fine. But regarding VRAM, perhaps you can explain/demonstrate how this works in practice, because month after month pass by and yet for some reason there hasn't been a single person on gaf able to performance-wise explain properly why 10GB "isn't enough". The PS5 Unreal demo was confirmed to be able to run on a decent laptop streaming assets to the GPU. What is it this generation that high VRAM bandwidth, a good SSD and PCIE3/4 can't handle?

Anyway, my shop keep pushing the order by one day every day.. It now says "Shipping between 20.11.2020 - 27.11.2020". I'm getting it after the Reverb G2, but hopefully still before Cyberpunk..

Nope. As I have a 2070, anything less than a 3080 or 6800XT just isn't worth the money to upgrade. I want a significantly large boost in performance. A jump from 2070 to 2080ti equivalent performance just isn't enough to warrant purchasing a 3070.

Haven't been able to find a 3080, but at this point I figure I should wait and see if they do another "Super" mid refresh like with the 20 series. To be honest, my 2080 kills everything I throw at it, so I'm not in a big hurry.

I don't plan to run PS5/XSX era games at game console graphics settings.

FYI, I already have ASUS ROG Strix X570 motherboard. PEG 4.0 has a two-way 32GB/s bandwidth.

My GPU purchase history,

HD 7970 1Ghz 3 GB -> R9-290X OC 4 GB -> GTX 980 Ti OC 6 GB -> GTX 1080 Ti FE 11 GB --> RTX 2080 Ti OC 11 GB

I don't want another less than 11 GB graphics card.

Got an 3080 Gainward Phoenix GS like three weeks after launch, got so fucking lucky. Great card, am enjoying it a lot.

Still have two open orders for a friend from two days after launch, delivery date unknown.

Hell No. Been searching for a 3080 since launch. Still can't get one. I'm not jumping through the hoops of using all those trackers and stuff though.
