Doesn't look as good as Ultimate Ghost'n Goblins, but ok, i'll buy it either way.
In my opinion, every game got harder than the last one. I actually think that the NES one it's the gentler one. Ultimate it's kinda masochist even in comparison.

I hate that shit too, it's not even about the design but that trashy way of animating limbs independently instead of making the full sprite animate looks horrible.
I understand that making sprites it's hard and time consuming but common! i'm pretty sure that 20 year old games and indies had smaller budgets and the only difference it's the expertise and how that budget it's used.}
Not to mention, Ultimate it's actually 3d and it looks way better under the original resolution. You can do all type of fuckery to make look 3d sprites look good too, like Valfaris for example.

The game's choice of visuals is disappointing. The style it's going for is difficult to pull-off and usually requires a greater sense of depth and higher quality art assets; otherwise, everything just looks flat and awkwardly animated. Maybe I'll consider it at a decent sale price, but then again, I don't much want to be stuck staring at what's on display in the trailer for any considerable length of time.

I don't see how you can compare a 14 year old game with Resurrection. The graphic style of UGNG was nice for it's time (for a hand held and even better on a emulator), but clearly Resurrection has better graphics.
The people calling it a weak looking flash game need only look at the Wonder Boy remake posted on page one. THAT is a weak looking flash game, certainly not Resurrection. The characters are beautifully remodeled in 3D and pay homage to the originals.

can you please take a second look at how characters are animated in both games? Resurrection looks like discount Vanillaware which is precisely what people mean by "flash game"
Yes, the new one looks sharper, that hardly qualifies as better graphics in my book.

The Super Ghouls and Ghosts Restoration rom hack is one of my most-played MiSTer titles (using an original SNES controller via SNAC of course).

11 year old me is screaming and crying tears of joy.
for the record I got to the end around 1987/1988 on my NES, no idea I’d have to do it all over again. What a fucking letdown I was DEVASTATED . Back then no internet, it was friends or gaming mags on all gaming info. I still remember breaking the news of the vine to the second warp zone to my friends in SMB — gaming god for a week.
Anyways after being trolled by the developers I doggedly pursued perfecting a second play through of Ghosts and Goblins. Was close one day but my mother got pissed I’d been on the NES so long and pulled the plug (i was on my second playthrough about 2 min from the true ending).
I did eventually finally beat the game, it was a HUGE achievement, truly meant something in my life. No internet to show off to ... just a personal victory over a game that had royally fucked me at the end of my first run. Was finally able to say fuck you back.
I BEAT YOU BITCH

I'm jealous and feel old.
My love for Dead Space (all 3 but 1 for me easily takes it still) knows no bounds.

Cool, did not expect this at all.
I like the pencil art style it goes well with the game, I think peoples complaints are more do with the lack of animation and thats what gives the flash game look.
