It's the way you spitted that out. I think Sea of Thieves is better, more unique, exciting, immersive than any PS exclusive, but I don't go to Sony threads saying it in a trollish, condescending manner
Well I suppose I still have a habit of posting things as a joke, even when most of the internet has abandoned the ability to read anything as such, but I can't control how you choose to interpret it. Alls I'm saying is that on the X1/PS4 gen, I found sony's exclusive output to be far and away more appealing to my own personal tastes and I've not seen a lot that indicates xbox is going to be producing titles that will sway my opinion very far back in their direction. There are a couple of titles that, pending their execution, have the potential to do so, but we'll have to wait and see.

This is one of the most missleading article about exclusives i've ever read.
How an official Xbox site can be sooo MISLEADING and DELIBERATELY lying people? Some games are, for example, Little Witch (already announced for Switch and PS4) and Yakuza on PS4. I mean, WTF is wrong with Xbox?
Not to mention bunch of games will appear on PC ( Steam).
Xbox just blatantly lying or they don't have a single clue on what exclusive means. Worst thing is, their community will swallow their lying crap

Console exclusives. But I think you understand that fine, and are just intentionally trying to stoke a fire.

Regardless, I hope you enjoy playing a select few of them on your PC.

Yakuza and Little Witch, Psyconauts 2 are NOT console exclusives at all. I think you understand that fine, though. I'm sure you're proud of Xbox and their misleading PR

Those are fair game to call out if true, and MS should expect flak for lying about them.

But that wasn’t my argument (and I think you understand that - can no longer tell), and I’m calling out the disingenuous posters on this forum who keep playing the ‘not exclusive because it’s on PC’ card.

That doesn’t help the millions of people who bought a PS over an Xbox, and who don’t own a gaming PC, play those games in question, does it?

And to keep it fair, the reverse applies. I see Horizon as a PS exclusive, despite the fact it is available on the PC.

If it is on PC, it is not an exclusive. And Horizon is not an PS exclusive anymore, nor i'm buying "console exclusive" term crap. But whatever, we all here aren't the same and treating "exclusives" term the same

thanks IbizaPocholo IbizaPocholo for doing the work compiling links after it's been too much of a hassle for Microsoft to put even a single screenshot by most of them in their wall of text.

Some great AA indie stuff there, I'm sold and can't wait for Scorn, 12 minutes, Song of Iron or Exo One. Medium already preloaded for release.
If it's all coming to Gamepass I'm sure I'm in for many pleasant surprises checking out games I wouldn't normally buy.

Other than the Little Witch, article mentions that they are not exclusive. And, who knows, maybe, LW will be a TE.

But it isn't disingenuous at all. Horizon Zero Dawn simply isn't an exclusive anymore. God of War is a PS exclusive. Fable 2 remains, to this day, an Xbox exclusive. So how does the exclusivity of those games remain in tact if they are made available on other platforms? You are highlighting PC as if PC is somehow different, but it really isn't.

If pcgamer.com published this list and claimed it was a list of PC exclusives, wouldn't that be just as accurate?

I thought CrossfireX was already out, it's been at E3 for about 4 years

Anyway, Medium and Halo for me mainly, this pandemic has done wonders for my backlog, especially since Destiny has been kinda spinning it's wheels a bit after Beyond Light

Speaking of which, Im loving Dying Light atm

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the list was published by MS, and is obviously intended to be read as console exclusives. That is, you won’t get them (or those particular versions) on the PS.

Therefore the old/tired ‘not exclusive because it’s on the PC’ is not relevant in the original context.

Hyped for Flight Simulator since my gpu broke and I guess that other than Civilization/Age of Empires/Older games my pc days are gone.

Also, cautiously interested in Halo Infinite and Crossfire, while hoping that the new Fable will be amazing.

They've mentioned : "technically" In some way, they'are tring to adopt it as it is exclusive since article IS about exclusives only. Surely they didn't mentioned multimpatform in headline

I think this is single player crossfire x made by remedy

not sure if this will come to pc at launch either

I'll wait till Halo before I even consider a new Xbox. That list is a bit disappointing. Flight Sim looks cool but just have no interest in it. Xbox needs some Bethesda exclusives to come out before I am truly hyped.

Then it should have been written as "console exclusives". The simple fact is there is a real difference between an exclusive and a console exclusive. Microsoft has used the words "console exclusives" many many times at E3 and other venues to describe games that are only coming to Xbox and PC. To say Microsoft can now get away with calling all these games "Xbox exclusive" doesn't make any sense to me.

And it is hard to take any of these "intentions" at face value when the article includes games that do not even rise to level of "console exclusives". The article says the Yakuza games are not "technically" exclusive but they included them anyway. So how is it we can include games that are not "technically exclusive" when "technically" none of them are?

He's right, you are disingenuous, because most console gamer don't care for PC or Stadia or other nonsense. Console gamers are console gamers for a reason you know.

The meaning of the word "exclusive" is not dependent on your gaming preferences. If I don't "care" for Xbox gaming, does that make Assassin's Creed: Valhalla a PS exclusive?

Nah, you’re splitting hairs. You think Microsoft don’t know they are also releasing their games on PCs? I know what they mean by their list and title, you know what they mean, anybody with a semblance of sense knows what they mean.

Anyway, I’m out of this convo. You can’t convince me people don’t understand what this list means.

Back to talking about the games.

That's a theoretical discussion. GoW was playable on PC through PS Now and people still consider it an exclusive. Mario Odyssee is playable on Nvidia Shield etc. The vast demographic user base determines what is seen an exclusive and what not.

Did not read your last comment then and will not read it now.

Im trying to stroke a fire? Microsoft are the ones abandoning exclusivity and publicly denounce exclusivity so what hypocritical nonsense are they doing to use some form of small time exclusivity as a feather in their cap? You cant have your cake and eat it too.

If microsoft will ever start publishing some good games, I will naturally try them on PC or PS5. Been quite some years since they made anything worthwhile tho.

If you don't consider Ori, Wasteland 3, Hivebusters, Sea of Thieves worthwhile then what the hell are you doing in this thread?

I'm sorry, but what you wrote is not a joke. And if you thought it was, you need to work on delivery.

They are still exclusives. These games aren't ported to PC nor source code is changed. According to your logic, every game which can be emulated on PC, Switch, X1, PSVita ( heck, Ocarina Of Time is emulated on PSV) .. isn't exclusive then.

Hivebusters? Never heard of it. Sea of Thieves? Worthwhile? Get the fuck out of here.
I played the first ori and it was a good time but pretty forgettable. Dont have a huge craving for more of the same but may play it sometime in the future. Wastleland 3, I did not have a chance to play it yet. But Wastleland 2 was quite boring so once again not sure if its worthwhile to invest time in the sequel.

With streaming console games, you are still playing the game on a console, just one that is in a remote data center. If I play God of War via PS Now on my PC then does the game benefit from my 2080 Super GPU? No, it doesn't because I'm not playing the game on my PC at all. It is still running on that remote console that I'm renting. Granted, the argument can be made that I am not required to own that PS4 to play GoW, but it doesn't change the fact that I am still playing on a PS4.

Microsoft also knows what the difference is between an exclusive and a console exclusive. I don't think I'm splitting hairs at all, but that's fine. Agree to disagree.

Interested in 16 of those titles from memory, some of them I don’t remember and need to look at more closely. So it could be even higher. Throw in all the big third party multiplatform games, idk where the idea that Xbox users have nothing to play comes from.

You know you have some good exclusives when you have to put a two year old remaster of 12 year old games to fatten up your numbers

Psychonauts 2, The Medium, Twelve Minutes and Halo. Crossfire X im curious since Remedy is doing the campaign. But yeah, Sony wins 2021 if the delays are not overwhelming.

ok you are not getting it. Ms stopped seeing and speaking Xbox just talking about the console. Xbox is now a platform and includes the PC (with their Windows OS) ..xcloud (android and soon iOS and all other devices that will support streaming) and finally their two consoles. When they say Xbox exclusive they mean it will only be on their platform it's so complicated?
sometimes it seems that some users don't like this because they suffer from the fact that ms is diversifying their offer so much that the competition will inevitably be forced to follow them. Yeah, guys in the not-so-distant future when streaming catches on and the exclusive word gets stupid enough to be pronounced how are you going to live?

Blatantly lying?! Did you actually READ the article? Under Psychonauts 2 it said plainly "OK, this one’s not technically a console exclusive, but it’s launching into Xbox Game Pass, so we couldn’t miss out on including it." For the Yakuza collection? "These ones aren’t technically exclusive, but it’s the first time these games are coming to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass, so we’re pretty excited." People are so triggered by Xbox they don't even know what they are complaining about anymore. If you don't like the platform enjoy whatever it is you enjoy and ignore it. It's almost like there is some sort of weird emotional reaction it's pretty funny. I guess if it really matters to you can send them a sternly written email expressing your discontent.

All of it is on PC, this is why I prefer PS5 since it has actual exclusives.
This is so backwards. You should really see it as a sweet bonus. MS exclusives nowdays always have the potential to look and run better because you always have better hardware, no 30fps or compromise to reach 60fps there. People are clearly sleeping on how awesome MS exclusives are going to be on PC this gen, big first party budget and dedication to impress without hardware limitations, it’ll be sweeeet! 👌

Your premise that PC gaming is somehow now a part of the Xbox platform is simply false. Steam exists entirely outside of Xbox. As does GOG. As does EGS. As does Ubisoft Connect. As does Origin. And on and on. These platforms pay nothing to Microsoft for their presence on PC. Windows is an open operating system, not a closed ecosystem like consoles.

Beyond all that, the article references the consoles specifically. So are you saying when Microsoft is talking about Xbox Series X and S they are automatically including PC gaming? That is one hell of a reach.

I assume this collection is further enhanced?

the is theirs and microsoft never been an open operating system to the point that ms dosn't have words on it. Ms will take money from the games sold on windows platform also if sold through steam or gog and these games will continue to make Windows the prefer os...instead of Linux or other OS. Windows is Microsoft as Xbox is ... when a Sony game comes out on a windows (ms) PC it is, yes, making them money but equally it is making their platform (the console) less important..Ms doesn't have this problem and dosn't cares highly if you play on pc or console . indeed probably since we are inevitably going towards a future hardware agnostic they highly prefer that you play on a PC platform that will not have sunsets (at least not in sight)

ps. I'm very sure that ms see st the gaming side as xbox entirely and it include all the devices

Windows is very much an open operating system in that I or anyone else can develop any software and not have to pay a single dime to Microsoft. But Microsoft making money in selling licenses to the Windows operating system does not make Steam a part of the Xbox platform. If you look at Microsoft's games on Steam the publisher is listed as "Xbox Games Studios". And that is their role: publisher, not platform holder. Microsoft pays Valve for games sold on Steam, not the other way around. And so yes, Microsoft would certainly love to be able to sell directly to their customers from within their closed ecosystem rather than paying money to a third party like Steam. They actually tried that with the Microsoft Store and it just didn't work. That's why Microsoft has committed to publishing all their future games on Steam.

Just feels like we are going way down the rabbit hole here to try and make everything on PC a part of Xbox when that just isn't the case.

ms get money on the game sold as everyone else but at the same moment steam as everyone else is leveraging their product windows Is, no matter how much ms haters will try to spin it, users that are on their os are instantly ms users no matter what. Ms could push an AD on their start menu and u should forcibly swallow it u get it?. Ms is pushing xbox name all over their os with their installed app. Thing that no one can do nor steam or others. If u don't understand that windows is their platform as xbox is i can't help u
