Diablo 2 Resurrected Officially Revealed

It's standard in most of 1:1 remakes (Monkey Island, Halo, Command and Conquer).
I know, I've tried it a couple of times in Monkey Island 1 & 2, but it's a rather pointless feature unless you're very nostalgic about playing the game with the exact same graphics and audio (but then what's the point of playing a 1:1 remake?).

Showed the reveal to some old timey D2 players I know. They don't really get hyped over modern games, but this? This got them emotional.

For me, MI remasters, the new graphics do not hold up :/... art style is quite bad. Diablo II: Resurrected 🤔 not bad actually :).

So, loot works the same so a controller spammer will be picking up all the loot before you see it lol. That and no local co-op is sad.

Lol even loot works the same!

To be honest that’s one area I wouldn’t mind a modern touch, I don’t feel like running an autoloot script.

And speaking about tools, I wonder if they’ll get a maphack running...

I think I've put more time into their products than I have into some of the jobs I've had. So...yes. Except I pay them, they don't pay me.

Diablo 4 looks great, but they've yet to drop the bomb on that one. Just give em time, they've yet to talk about their monetization strategy. That's going to be a fun news day.
"So here's some info about Diablo 4, You've all got mobiles right?"

You an me both but I was watching that Mr. Llama and he was talking about how if they made the looting different "it wouldn't be Diablo 2.". I swear purists can be the worst. I would have loved something new in Demon's Souls as well, but the meganerds, would cause an uproar. Who wants to compete for loot, honestly? So a barb will be looting more GG items than a ranged character. And now with shared stash no one will be sharing save personal friends. It's annoying that they couldn't fix that.

I always feel sorry for the developers of these kind of games with a cult following, they literally cant win with any new games. Half the lunatics demand it to stick to the originals, dont you dare change things....the other half of the lunatics then just moan and whine because "its just more of the same"....Poor bastards get abuse no matter what they do.

I mean, I agree that there are things they could fix without ruining the essence of the game, like stacking gems / runes for example, but I'm not sure what you're getting at with the shared stash. You don't like purists but want to keep muling, one of the dumbest aspects of D2?

Most of the good drops come from bosses, who everyone stands right next to when they die anyway, barbs grabbing the loot has never been an issue... you have 1/8 chance of getting it though.

As someone who has only ever played D3 on console and really loved it, colour me excited.
Did they ever get rid of the hackers?

Edit: I somewhat forget D2... but if ther'es as many hackers as were in D1 and console D3 then I'm out...

Check out Project Diablo 2
Private servers running a slightly modded version of D2, which includes a lot of QoL changes (like stackable runes, shift/ctrl-commands for faster inventory management, loot filters, balance changes etc.)

I have zero problem with shared stash, I wish it was 10 times bigger lol. What I'm saying is that people online will be even less likely to share good loot since they will just put it in their shared stash for their other characters. I'm complaining about no personal loot.

Also, controller players will have an advantage because you don't have to target the loot, you can just spam A or X. It's yours as soon as it drops.

I just re-installed D2 for the first time since probably the year it came out. God damn I forgot how awesomely creepy and no-hand holding that game is. It is just too shitty graphics to play now, but I cannot wait for this remaster at this point. Definitely my most anticipated game of this year by far.

I am looking forward to D2 Resurrected but i also love to play the original Diablo 2 with Eastern Sun mod so i'm torn.
Eastern Sun mod makes the game so much more enjoyable to me.

If the "new" Amazon's look stays, I will not be buying this. I figured they would ruin this somehow, I can't expect much with their track record. I will wait until this is actually in the hands of players before even considering it.

I'm psyched for this, but yeah..that new Amazon...what the hell. It's like someone is making fun of that "Maam" meme. I don't get how any group can be happy with visual, regardless of their stance on the subject matter.

Ive never played diablo 2. I love three though, i cant wait to try this
If d3 was your first game, you might lower your expectations. The game is great for those who grew up with it, but it's missing a lot of QOL stuff we take for granted today.

Say, you wouldn't be someone who defines infinite respecs as "QOL stuff", would you?

-Infinite respecs is a serious QOL. But you can do infinite if you farm for mats.
-Having a skill bar instead of a left and right mouse damage ability
-losing items on you after you die (it's not a problem, just different from Diablo 3)
-inventory is smaller. Items has bigger sizes, and you have charms that also takes space.

Ehhh...I'll give you 2/4. Maybe the UI revamp will solve #2, as you ended up using a ton of skills via hotkeys anyway. Showing them all would be nice. #4 is a balance thing, if they added larger inventory they'd have to nerf charms into the ground. You're literally trading convenience for power with them. If you take away the cost, then you gotta lower the power.

You only get to see that on the character selection screen, so no big deal honestly. Anyway, the devs have said that they are listening to feedback and going to fix it, so hopefully she'll be less ugly in the final game.

The have also made the assassin an asian for some reason, and the paladin looks straight outta Compton but whatever.

20 years of diablo 2 on my belt. Fucking hate D3. And yet i want controler support. D3 on console convinced me. Because i realized that tying character movement to targeting instead of it having detached is fucking stupid idea. And all it took was 15 minutes.

Moreover you are effectively looking at twinstick beat em up game.

Now that D2 will come with controler support it will be best great version.

Depending on the class... playing sorc and baba without aiming teleport/leap uggghhh IDK.

But I agree controller is the way to play.

I never said these things were bad, I'm just saying that people who are used to these modern features could get pulled off by Diablo 2. Personally I can't wait myself and will spend years replaying this again.

I know I just really wanted a skill bar. I know stuff can be hot keyed, but a spellbar wouldn't hurt.

Imagine skipping what seems like a loving remaster of a top 5 PC games of all time title because you don't like a face on the character select screen.

Can't wait to listen to Deckard Cain's demented ramblings about Horadric this and Horadric that again.
My body is ready.
LOL. Fuck that hordratic cube. That thing was rigged.

I used to player file copies, do the cube and if it sucked, I'd put back my player.dat file (I think that's what it was). I swear the chances of getting something good was like 3%. lol
