DF | Outriders First Look: PS5 vs Xbox Series X/ Series S vs Xbox One X!

Just like many previous comparisons, im totally fine with PS5 having a slightly lower res in order to run at a locked 60 fps.

If team green is fine with their version having slightly higher res and a few dips i guess we can call it a win for everybody?

So, uh...this game may not be anyway near as clear-cut a "win" for a given platform as I first though. People are pulling up screenshots now where PS5 has much worst lighting in some areas as well as lower environmental detail/objects and worst cloth physics compared to the PC and Series X versions.

If that's the case, it's not surprising if PS5 has less framerate drops (and according to DF, it DOES have frame drops, just not as much) due to the aforementioned differences. Some of the screenshots almost look worlds apart IMO. Hate to pull it from Reeee, but here 'ya go:

Don't forget the lower textures or texture filtering on xbox also

How about this from VGtech?

What time is it?
I can deal with the lower resolution but someone get Cerny on the line. MY FLAG PHYSICS!!!!!!!!

Who said they are everything?

4TF's isn't enough no matter the spin.
It really depends on the architecture, but seeing as how more 3P games are also getting Switch (and obviously Switch Pro ports when that comes) and Switch Pro (let alone the original) will be weaker in terms of pure TF to Series S...

...even if it's a different architecture, there's lots of similarities between Nvidia and AMD's designs anyway so I will want to see if the same people knocking down Series S for being "only" 4TF do the same with Switch Pro which will inevitably be even less than that and also getting many of these same 3P games going forward :pie_thinking: .....

The shot on Series X was most likely captured slightly in-motion while PS5's wasn't; if lower texture quality was rampant you'd be able to find many more examples throughout the game but this is the only (cherry-picked) shot that's come up.

Speaking of cherry-picked shots that make a given platform look bad, here's one doing no favors for PS5 (source: cwjs on B3D)

Left is PS5, right is Series X.

it's mostly an image reconstruction caught in-progress on PS5 goes to show how easy it is to capture the same game in two different states on the two systems that can make one look bad by comparison

Super Switch will have lower base resolution targets and reconstruct to higher resolutions via the (thus far) superior DLSS.

The xss will be longer in the tooth than the Super Switch and I can see Nintendo exclusives outshining xss games.

This is all if Nintendo doesn't shit the bed and let us down with the specs.

Its not from some randomer, its from vg tech who states this. Links on his video description i believe.

He does sound analysis so I'll trust him.

This is assuming that Switch Pro/Super Switch even has DLSS and if so, at the scale of the PC GPUs (it definitely will have way less Tensor Cores than even 3060).

Plus it's Nintendo...when's the last time they hit hype expectations on performance specs? Probably Gamecube IMO, that's going back two whole decades  .

With all due respect they are just one source of others and again, if Series X has truly lower texture resolution quality, I need a lot more than one screen grab to prove it.

Preferably, multiple sources would confirm and provide their own examples of it, but I've seen two others covering it and neither of them bring it up as being a thing on Series platforms.

It's a assumption worth making with the current rumors/nVidia partnership.

Nintendo hasn't made a great spec machine in awhile and these specs aren't great if true.
Who said they were?

You mean him repeating vrr in every post? Yeah you better believe. The kids insane; just wait until he starts talking about expandable storage and more full future rnda2 potential. 😂
Yeah. Like parrots repeating the same thing over and over. I bet as soon as ps5 gets vrr update they will shut up about it. It's like folders all over again

It's crazy at this point to see ps5 performing better than a purportedly 12tf console, regardless of negligible res difference.

There some magic under the hood.

I mean, assuming they will have some DLSS in Switch Pro/Super Switch? Yeah, for sure. But it's going to be a mobile-based GPU, that will limit the amount of Tensor Cores in the design for powering the task. But maybe they could have an offset in having a more advanced implementation of 2.0 by the time it comes out, who knows 🤷‍♂️

Better performance, details, AF and motion blur? So the better IQ plus performance?

Clear winner.
Watched the video and said absolutely nothing about TF was better on PS5..

Resolution is more demanding. PS5 winning the frame rate battle. at a lower resolution is not winning. Xbox is hitting 57 to 60 frame rate count, the majority of the time at higher resolution, logically this means the xbox version is performing better.
