Great fun with a buddy.
scorched earth isnt a bad game ! Me and my friends enjoyed it more than worms back in the day. I liked used the funky bomb (think that was the name) and having the tanks say something after they die. I wish I could play this game again with friends online.

Some cool ideas (open world Silent Hill, sidequests), some bad ones (enemy design, combat), technically not exactly great but gets the job done, decent enough plot, all in all, better than Homecoming by a long shot. I enjoyed it.

As a major OG Silent Hill series fan, (yes, even the Room!) I have to say that out of all the attempts from third party devs to make a decent SH game, this one certainly came the closest.

Were some of the sections over done and janky? Sure. Did the chase sequences just get tedious and frustrating? Yup.

But they definitely got the atmosphere bang on and the game play was very reminiscent of SHs golden PS1/PS2 era.

Actually this post this has made me jump in for another run!

Star Fox Adventures and Mass Effect Andromeda.

I never played SF games properly before other than a quick go on the Snes game, so I didn't really care about the change in genre. I thought it was a great game.

For andromeda, yes it was no where near as good as the trilogy. I still don't think it was awful though. I enjoyed it.

My 3DO still works to this day and my team mates and I played this damn game so much in the mid 90s as I always took that 3DO on roadtrips.

Loved the soundtrack as well

Well the series did start off as one of D3 publishers 2000 yen "simple" series games - so a certain level of jank is only to be expected. Actually, that whole series has a bunch of games that would fit in well with the subject of this thread, although I have to admit to enjoying quite a few of them (as you might have guessed from my avatar image).
If "certain level of jank" means the worst performance ever seen on Playstation 2 by far :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I have finished both Monster Attack and Global Defense Force and, to be honest, I can't understand why this series took off. I can enjoy all the games but good lord the performance was crappy as hell.

Zangeki no Reginleiv, another "EDF" made by Sandlot with a mythological-nordic twist, tho, it is MUCH better than the regular EDF series.

I bought several Ratalaika's games just for easy platinum, but actually enjoyed few of them, like Devious Dungeon 1,2 or League of Evil.

I actually somewhat enjoyed cyberpunk. I didn't play it as long as witcher, skyrim, or red dead, but it was an alright 40-60-some hours of gaming.

I'm not sure if Mechwarrior 5 is deemed a bad game, but it is one of my go-to games. I just think it's a very niche genre from a bygone gaming era. It doesn't have to be so isolated, but I guess slow stompy robots aren't as appealing to the recent generations of gamers.

I dunno, I felt like Shattered Memories was the best of the post Team Silent games. Downpour had some really cool ideas, but it became a slog after the first few hours.

Unsurprisingly from my skimming it seemed all the posts in here are of games with at least a 6 on metacritic. You just can't find a game thats truly "shit" that anyone is going to enjoy and this thread confirms it.

I'd go Evil Dead: Fistful of Boomstick simply because while falling in that 6-ish review score range its one of my fave games ever.

I saw that Deadly Premonition post. And yes I liked it. But lets be honest, the bad reviews were ppl who didn't get it and understand the "shit" parts were intentional for that B movie feel. Game has a strong fanbase, rightfully so.

I had to double-check the title of this thread. This is not shit, sir.
Agreed a great game, but the remaster was fucking atrocious during the cut scenes because the original ugly cut scenes were used and not remastered like the rest of the game, which ultimately spoilt the game for me.

Its Maam GIF

This game was a lot of fun, but buggy - we wanted to beat it, but kept getting stuck on some menu issue

Drakengard 3. I just finished it recently on an emulator and holy shit. It's so bad but it's also so endearing for some reason.
I really hope that gets remade someday, there's some fun in there.
It reminded me of No More Heroes, which I love but is also kinda bad lol

Kingpin on PC. A game that was hyped up due to graphics and cussing and total criminal stupidity. Sounds awesome on paper and the first half hour is awesome. Then you realize the game itself is shit. But then realize it's not so bad since it's got great atmosphere.

On the plus side, you got toilets with floating turds in it. No joke.

I'm gonna say Quantum Break. I really enjoyed it. Great gameplay and although the TV series looked pretty low budget, it did have 2 actors in it I really like.

Thumbs up for me!

I'll give you that, SM was pretty great!
I was disappointed that more people didn't like Shattered Memories. It wasn't perfect, but it did some really unique things and took GREAT advantage of the Wii at the time. I thought it was awesome that you'd get those really shitty phone calls through the Wii controller speakers. I adored SM. I was very excited for Downpour too tbh and I felt like it had a really strong opening and first few hours, but man, once you got to the caves and then having to go back and forth in the town/streets, I was just ready for it to be done. And then I was disappointed to learn that you could get the different ending by literally loading the last hour of the game and making a singular different choice.

Shame that the series has been left the way it has. P.T. in V.R. is pretty dope though if you have a PC.
