My favorite series of all time. The first 3 seasons are the best in my opinion but it stays good. I should re-watch it on Disney+.

Nah lost ended better than both of those

Saying that I personally thought GoT was boring as fuck anyway
Yeah i don't know, they both shit the bed at the end but at least in got you have some nice cg battles to look at it.

In lost you have hugo and jack drinking wine.

I think one of the worst ending to a series I've seen lately is "the line", almost like why the fuck did I bother

I never got the haters... watched the entire show twice (once with one ex-gf, once with my wife).

It's awesome. The story jumps the shark around S4 but it's fun and the production values were fantastic.

Edit: ending of Game of Thrones is WAY worse. They absolutely butchered the entire story in one episode. Total character assassination of Daenarys on par with Anakin in the prequels.

I’ll always compare the ending of this to Matrix Revolutions. At the end, just as Oracle told Neo that everything worked out because “She believed” or some crap, between that and the credits, there was a couple of seconds of screen silence and someone in the theatre exclaimed “What the fuck?”
Everyone agreed and clapped.
Thats how I feel about the Lost Finale.

The show was fantastic, and honestly, the only reason it lost focus was because the network didn’t want to lose the show. It was originally planned for I think 4, 5 seasons tops, but the network added in a couple of extra seasons since it was the hottest thing on tv.

Finally got my wife to watch it. And she loved it. She never wanted to watch it because it looked so weird to her, but man, it builds great characters.

And I loved the ending.

Never seen it before one of those shows I was interested in but never bothered with.

At the start of S2 and it’s ok quite interesting but random mysteries can be abit annoying.

I sincerely hate the Locke character

Wait for the end when you will literally slap yourself in the face for being an idiot watchibg this until the final episode

It certainly went places but was okay with it overall. Might do a rewatch at some stage. Watching the episodes as they aired and discussing them online would’ve been something to behold lol.

The last season is a weird one, because half of it, has nothing to with flash backs, its almost a completely different story.

Obviously not gonna say the ending, since some haven't watched

Rewatched the whole thing last year. Better on the 2nd time seeing it.

It is a great show, the character arcs are great. The payoff of the mystery can't answer to the build up but it wasn't bad; I watched for the characters anyway.

Love the ending.

They never explain the . So really it's a pretty bad show and everyone shilling the religious cop-out should be ashamed. The show's hallmarks were in practical explanations for *everything*. That's the entire world-building

It's an example of a Soap Opera.

I read that Soap Operas are a pointless drama with no end that is designed not to tell a story but to sell commercials.

There's tons of science fiction and mystery/quest shows like this. The writers have no idea what the show is about, so there create bunch of fake mysteries and drama to get people to tune in. When ratings go up they can charge more for commercials.

So, the more plausible and interesting bullshit, the more they make off the show.

Then, they just end it or come up with a bullshit ending. They don't care because it was never about the story but making money.

That's what Lost was.

I learned this years before it was on and I used to watch Lost as a comedy. I knew there was no story and used to find it funny to watch the horrible ideas and stupidity.

Up to series 3 now it has definitely got a lot better/more interesting. Series 1 wasn’t that great tbh. Surprised at the amount of deaths although some of them weren’t major characters.
Locke has finally turned into less of a cunt.
Just saw jack get cucked again.. man this guy can’t catch a break.

Season 3 is where things get very interesting. Fuck the haters. I know how it ends and have been working my way through the series with my kids now. They love it and I love revisiting some of the great moments and episodes.

Biggest gripe with the show is when fans guessed the twist of them being in purgatory, and the creators said it wasn't purgatory... except it WAS purgatory, just Egyptian purgatory.
Use spoiler tags. He hasn't watched the whole series yet.

My all time favourite show.
Please do it justice and don't use your phone or have a chat or whatever people do these days while "watching" shows.

And please for the love of god after the finale don't ask the question so many imbeciles do.
You'll understand when you get there.

Except it wasn't purgatory. Please stop spreading that trash.

I recommend playing Lost: Via Domus on 360/PS3. It might not be a great game but I liked it. It was fun exploring places seen in the series. It was released around season 4 if I remember right.

Honestly i thought they just died on the crash

What is what? The island? It’s an island…
The last episode literally has Christian Shephard say everything that happened on the island happened. And at the very end they all meet up after dying.
Some may have lived till old age, some obviously died on the island. But they all met up at the end.

His actual quotes were something like
“It was all real and the people were real” and “some died before you, some long after you”

That show was proto GoT, same sense of fervour, intrigue, ultimate let down.. to this day watching the first few seasons of lost is a fantastic way to while away an afternoon.. incidentally, watching lost at the same time as i played Far Cry seriously beefed up my sense of wonder in the game lol

Lost only really gets crap in like the last two episodes of the whole thing.

They can't all be the sopranos

I thought the whole series happened in Jack's imagination, in the moments before he died, and all of the back stories and stuff were just born from his own complexes and what he saw of them on the plane.

I just watched that scene again.

Its a shit ending because the problem is he either died or is in a dream state where he can make everything up about anything.

His dad could come forwards and tell him he's superman and he would believe it. The fact that his dad is death already makes his dialogue completely useless and not relevant.

The guy died and everybody else died, yea no shit. Some may have survived the crash sure and died afterwards. but they didn't display anybody older there. So even that scene is completely moot to convince the viewer of it. And even then is not going to help because its just his "dream or whatever u want to call it".

This means either he's dead and sits in a purgatory state where he makes all this shit up or a coma or anything outside of the real realm, u just got taken on a ride.

And this is exactly the shit why people got triggered, because lots of people already thought they would pull this cheap card at the end .
With the answer never being straight in lost it was always a trick or mystery and this results in the same outcome.

What they should have done if they wanted to convince people the island was real, showcase the funerals with different dates of each of them with family members and kids saying goodbye while they are old and specially the main character as he's the grounded character u follow.

See how shit the ending is.

U also need to keep in mind that the main actor is a incredible smart guy and well educated which means he probably records a lot in a short period of time in his brain on events that happened, so it could very well be that the limited time he spended with people actually engraved it into his brain which formed a grand journey, this often happens when i dream for example. I see somebody that i don't really notice but i dream about that person the same day or when u hear a song once its stuck in your head without you asking about it. Same concept.

So yea i can see why people shitted over the ending, its just terrible made.

It wasn't just imagination. There is actually a bonus scene that happens after the end on Blu-Ray. Search The New Man in Charge on Youtube.

"No, the last season, is real time on the island (Jack), and purgatory where he dies at the end, purgatory is him not letting go of the island, hence why he starts reconnecting with the other from the island, to allow him to accept he died, its better to not think of the last seasons timelines to be connected at all, I think because he sacrificed himself, he can't accept he died on the island, hence why he wants to go back,,but that happened years before, thats why the others from the island look no different, thats how he remembers them"

Thats my take on it anyway

The last season is about all of them, not just Jack.
It's about accepting and letting go of the most meaningful moments of their lives: the time on the island, and the fight they all fought.
They are all stuck in limbo and can only go forward together, so they are waiting for each other.
It was not only an absolute resolution for all characters arcs, but also a mangnificent 4th wall breaking, as us, the viewers, also had to "let go" and move on.
Jack was the most stubborn of us all, but he did let go gracefully at the very end too.

I don't know if it was "perfect" or "the best ever" or anyhting like that, but it sure as hell was incredibly self aware, inspired and poignant. Like something straight out of a Hideo Kojima epilogue.

One of my favorite shows ever. I do think it dropped in quality as the later seasons but I still love it.

Thats another good take, the last season is all about him tho really, just like the first season

It book ends nicely

The more I dwell on it, the more I actually liked the ending the second I watched, I was genuinely upset

Whereas the first time, I was just like wtf is this......

Age I guess as well, you see life from a different perspective

I love Lost, I love the ending and I have always defended it as one of the greatest tv series ever made.

With that said, it obviously had it's flaws. The 2 first seasons were pretty much perfect, but in the third season the quality started to dip a little, and then the fourth season with the Hollywood writters strike was clearly worse than the two first seasons. Still the show was good, new interesting characters were added and the protagonists still had purpose.

But season 5 and 6 cimented the irregular quality of the show at that point, sometimes you got amazing scenes or even chapters, but other times there was really bad scenes and chapters (the temple plot was hilariously bad). But still overall there was more good than bad.

Personally I didn't like the premise of the final season, the "alternate reality" replacing the flashbacks/flashforwards was a little bit too convoluted for me and it kind of made me feel they were somewhat irrelevant. Still it gave us some great scenes, but by that time John Locke as a character was utterly destroyed and replaced by the MIB/smoke monster, which was a really big mistake in my opinion. John and Jack should have been at the very end of it all, with Jack being the man of faith he was at the end and John saying: I told you so. That would have been the perfect end for such an iconic rivalry with two unforgettable characters.

Still, when everybody remembers and when Jack remembers and they all move on, it was such a satisfactory ending for those characters that went through a lot, and more importantly they were characters that made you feel a great sense of connection with. I remember so dearly being a kid going to party at night and shouting "We have to go back!" on the streets with my friends.

So yeah, Lost was not perfect, but it was magical.

Well some of you were right. At the start of series 4 and it’s kinda getting silly.

They obviously run out of stories to tell with the back stories so this weird alternative timeline shit is just stupid.
