Starfield is ‘like NASA meets Indiana Jones’ with a Skyrim structure

So you like the whole “love is the fourth(/fifth?) dimension” thing? I couldn’t get into it. First 2/3 of the movie were fucking killer tho
That part I dunno but the whole black hole/time dilation thing is just oh so awesome. I hate that the original script of the ending was toned down because Cooper was meant to sacrifice himself and die in the black hole and relay the quantum data to earth via gravitational waves and scientist was meant to pick that up highly sensitive instruments to solve the gravity equation. Director felt this ending was 'too much science' for the audience.
Fucking lame.

All I've ever wanted was an open world realistic space sim that gives you freedom to explore planets and star systems. I hope they have base building mechanics in this game. That would be the cherry on top for me.

Honestly, I prefer to learn nothing at this point from the game, I want to discover and appreciate the game for what it is and not what they want us to believe it will be.
It sounds too ambitious with these words.
I just want to be wrong.

I'm glad it doesn't follow a combination of SpaceX, Sound of Music, and Watchman theme with the structure of Dishonored.
Seriously, what a useless bunch of references to go by of which only 1 is a game.

Feels like another Fallout 76.

I can’t really remember tbh it was so long ago - it felt the same to me but it seems like you know more about it.

And this is why todd howard will keep soing whats hes doing lol

You are the demographic that they are aiming for so congrats

if you dont even remember then why did you-nevermind...

Dark brotherhood in oblivion had you climbing the ranks, more creative contracts like one having you partake at a party and killing each person, and pitting them against eachother like "and then there were none". Until you are left with the last person. It simply jad better writing, was more thorough , more creative and made you feel as though you were really climbing the ranks of an assassins guild. Whereas skyrim felt like a quest....same with its mages guild.

I am hyped, hopefully we can customize at least the interior of our ship. Hopefully there is some decent gameplay other than exploring.

Let's fucking go StarField

I’m a little worried this game might not be for me, and despite the jank I love Bethesda games.

I’m concerned it might be a death stranding type of game where delivery type quests are the order of the day with less emphasis on combat.

Hope I’m wrong.

So it sounds like a lot of exploration. You are with your own ship, and that mechsuit that lets you out onto surfaces. Likely there's an asteroid field and a couple planets to explore. Humanity has been navigating space for a while, so there are lots of stories of early explorers and settlers. There's a religious faction that sees space exploration as geting closer to the face of God. Earth is garbage and mostly everyone is mining space. There will be combat because space is too big to have cops. You have to harvest and loot from other miners and folks who died trying to mine and settle space. It's indy jones in the puzzles and crypts and chambers. That's my best guess for something that Bethesda can reasonably make, that's interesting enough where it's not super giant like a No Mans Sky game. And there will be hundreds of little modular space colony pre-fab units on asteroid surfaces and below. For the first half you combat other humans and possibly androids. For the last 3rd, aliens. Humanity comes together to fight them off.

I'm not the biggest space or sci-fi fan, but damn if Bethesda's open worlds don't suck me in for 100+ hours. There's just so much to do and see, surprises and rewards everywhere. And lots of cool systems to mess around with.

If this turns out bad.... lol, imagine the drama.

People be talking stupid MS was to buy Bethesda, and Todd will be ridiculed to death, meanwhile Sony guys on the other side eating popcorn and adding duel to the fire.

For gaming's sake, they better be good.

I am hyped on the setting.

Anything Todd Howard says I have learned to ignore. Fallout 4 base building didn't it just works.

Imagine if the game has numerous planets to explore.

Imagine giving modders the tools to create extra planets to explore and quest on.

The potential is insane.

You know what's better than seeing a new videogame?

Reading an interview where Todd Howard of all people talks about said videogame.

"Like NASA meets Indiana Jones meets League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", shut the fuck up Todd.

After 76 I don’t believe a word out of Howard mouth. You should lower your expectations way way down.

Who am I kidding. People will get very excited and very disappointed and the circle continues.

If it is made in another Engine born from Gamebryo i can see the Skyrim part being true, in the worst ways.

0% chance they are NOT using their shitty engine...
But this time, with over a billion tweaks to it!

Todd is the new Peter Molyneux, so full of shit it keeps spilling over.

To be fair F76 has greatly improved since the initial release that suffered from all of the bugs, disconnections and no NPC's. I still wouldn't play it, but I won't deny that they didn't listen to what the people wanted from the game.

Mind you thats not how they used to be. Things went downhill with skyrim. And theres alot of kids without enough gaming history to understand that.
I have 200+ hours in Skyrim and OIblivion. To me, things went downhill with OIblivion. I still enjoyed it, but Skyrim is much better. Of course, Morrorwind is the GOAT.

What bethesda does with the mod scene is gonna determine if this works or not. The game is just an environment for what the community does with it. If they try to sell mods again, and they will, I can't see this being huge.

I find comparing themselves to LoEG and Indiana Jones odd: “it brings Indiana Jones 4 and the LoEG Movie together, great fan favourites!”.

I know what he wanted to say, I think, but hey… mmm 🤔.

The biggest question is will it still allow for mods that make my characters tits and ass a majority of her player model? Otherwise Bethesda might lose there core demographic

It is amazing they continually let this clown up on stage. I'm not going to be forgetting Fallout 76 anytime soon, and to a lesser extent how they watered down Fallout 4.

Would not trust a fucking word coming out of that guy's mouth.

Show us some gameplay, enough with the fallout 76 bullshit approach.

We must not value the same things in the series then...skyrim had far less creative quests in comparison, which is the heart of the game. the lack of enchantments on weapons or armor made for less variation of loot causing you to cap out on what you can discover early, didnt help that they got rid of repairing weapons, which allowed you to keep messing with one sword forever .

Also did skyrim have the coliseum? No? Then oblivion wins lol

Did skyrim have better guild quests? No by far? Then oblivion wins lol

Did skyrim have more abilities to level like acrobatics and athletics? No? Then oblivion wins lol

Imo the only way someone can think skyrim is better is if you dont really care about those things. And you dont care about the quest quality difference, then tells me you just liked running around doing whatever with dragons lol

I've heard about this game constantly since the big purchase. I thought this game was supposed to sell consoles and subscriptions after E3 2021. Yet, despite all of the hype, I can literally say that all I have learned from official sources about this game at E3, is that Jason Schreier still gets real news leaked to him.

the fact that you have fallen for such a video makes me question your ability to detect sarcasm.

That guy loves to troll fanboys. watch his old videos. they are all class A troll. Love Michael.
Come on dude, i didnt fall for it, its obvious that he is doing it on purpose to troll Sony fans, do you think im dumb? please..
I said clown because that is what he actually is, a clown, a person to amuse us, to make us laugh and he did make me laugh. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
