Xbox/GamePass Integrated into Windows 11

Microsoft is also improving the Xbox experience in Windows 11. The new Xbox app is now integrated into Windows 11, offering quick access to Xbox Game Pass games, the social parts of Xbox network, and the Xbox store. The Xbox Game Bar and Windows Game Mode all remain the same as Windows 10 in this early leaked build.

Are they actually calling it Windows 11? I hate the thought of that after they waxed poetic about Windows 10 being the last Windows OS.

Nice to see they finally have an option to move the icons to the middle. I currently have to use TaskbarX to do that on my ultra-wide screen monitor.

Yeah. They weren’t expecting macOS to go to 11. As soon as it did obviously the plans for Windows 11 began to materialize.

The only thing I see in that Windows screen shot is that they moved the task bar icons to the middle which might just be a customization thing. Everything else looks pretty much like it has for years now.

Centering the icon bar with the start window is the main thing that caught my eye. Also, the rounded corners of windows just like on Mac.

Minor stuff, but I thought of my MacBook when I saw the pics.

No, It's 2021. It's annoying when Screens get wider and increased resolution, then clicking the start menu in the left corner. Having the start menu in the centre is more user-friendly. At least there's a classic mode who doesn't like the change

ergonomic layout is having everything importan on the top left, your cursor is in the top left quarter of the screen for the majority of the time.
almost every program on the market has the important menus and icons on the top left.

you can still have the start button left aligned thankfully... so you can still have it on the top left where it belongs

Are they trying to make Windows look more like Mac?
People copy good ideas. Mac copies things from Windows. Windows copies thing from Mac. Xbox copies things from Playstation and Playstation copies things from Xbox. When you do things differently despite liking what the company does just for the sake of being different you hurt the product for no good reason.

I love it when companies copy ideas. Otherwise, I would still be gaming with this....

I wonder what the EU will think of this...
bundling an xbox app into the os? it would be hard to argue that there is some consumer harm with the current split of pc digital sales or even a meaningful impact to the general market

This is literally already existing in Windows 10 today. The Xbox app is just a wrapper for the Windows Store at the moment. There's nothing unique here other than maybe the Xbox app is pre-installed just like how Edge and the Store apps are. Highly highly doubt there's any problem.
Yep, both the Windows store and Xbox app are pre installed already on W10 even in EU. Nothing changes as far as I can tell.

Wait wasn't win 10 supposed to be the last OS?

Given EU forced Microsoft to make Internet explorer option able and made a prompt so even retarded monkey could download Firefox, then they probably argue that Microsoft integrating xbox fully into Windows is an unfair advantage over Sony and Nintendo.

EU is brain dead so who knows what fucked up stuff it can vomit up on the carpet.
