Hot Wheels Unleashed - Hands-On Preview

KyoZz

Tag, you're it.
Looks ok, I'll just make sure to turn off the music.$
Also, playing in easy mode doesn't seem to do the game justice.

If you want to send me screengrabs from your upcoming videos I'll make good thumbnails from them for you, with nice contrast and colours to draw the attention of youtube browsers, I'll need a picture of you doing this though:

looks fantastic, to be honest. I'm not 100% sold on the drifting mechanics though.

Nice! This and Cruisin Blast releasing in the same month! I'll be getting this on Steam and getting a physical copy of Cruisin Blast on Switch! Can't get enough of Arcade racing goodness!

Seems well produced, but... kinda boring?

It's got all the right features/modes and looks real nice plus should be easy play for kids, but the driving mechanics seem so simple, it just doesn't seem like there's a lot of fight to the race. Just jam the accelerator and drift easy on the wide track belts. Maybe there's more to the feel than I'm seeing in the videos, and it does have obstacles, so maybe it gets properly hairy when tracks get hard and the bumpers are taken off the edges.

I'm really curious to see what people do with the track builder, that could be a lot of fun.

Create unique designs or download other players' creations. And discover the Basement, a special room to customize with furniture and accessories.

The reviews are great. I also just saw that its "only" 49,99 in the EU. I think I will give it a go.

I'd rather just have a Hot Wheels DLC on Forza that I could still buy. Sadly I was a bit late on FH3 and missed out on that DLC.

Hi All

Looking for some recommendations. I want to pick this up today to play with my son.

Originally I was going to grab it for the switch so he can play on the go, but now I'm debating if I should grab it on the XSX as it looks much nicer. Any thoughts or feedback are greatly appreciated.

Cars look good but it feels a bit empty, visually. It should have 50-100 cars on the track, make it more crazy. Curious to try though.

Picked up the XSX version. Preference to play with the Xbox controllers when playing two-player with my son and nicer visuals.

Looks good, theres a lot of content in the base game already and theres DLC on the way. I hope they don't sneak in MTX in an update. Does this have a licensed soundtrack? I haven't heard anything about that.

The most average gameplay I've experienced in ages. It wouldn't logon (for single player!) one day so I deleted it.

Wasn't outright bad just...... very boring.

One saving grace was funky menu music.

how are the controls? always thought that in gameplay videos the drifting looks slightly off.

A game like this lives and dies by the controls. It should be fun but like I said just totally average. Sterile I would say is a good word (for the graphics too).

I would definitely recommend Table Top Racing if anyone is looking for something similar. This was actually fun and it had character. I platinumed it on PS4 and was left wanting more. With this the login failing was a blessing in disguise I was grinding my way through it because of the cash I spent on it.

Teaser for a Looney Tunes content update, with a new environment and character-themed cars (if you pause it, you can see Roadrunner and Coyote Hot Wheels racing each other for a split second, though it doesn't show a lot of the environment yet.)
