ps5 is a good console...but it is behind the XSX in feature that when I go from my SX to PS5 I do miss those features. Quick resume is probably the one I miss the most, but everything on the list listed isn't wrong. I think saying "PS5 needs to catch up in areas" is better. But sony has 0 incentive too...why catch up when you don't have to as market leader. I think once Xbox services inevitably start to surpass PS net revenue then you'll see some changes, but until then they have 0 incentive to add these features.

Alot of people forgetting that casuals just see the PlayStation as the console they had previously (with game libraries to boot) so they just get the next one, simple as that
PS5 has some great games and excellent features to enhance gameplay but its far behind the Series X in terms of tech features and ease of use.

You severely misunderstand this industry then, enthusiasts are a very very small number compared to the mass casuals, I work with people in the public space in the industry, a lot of them upgraded to a PS5 because its the next iteration they don't care about fancy features, a lot of them just do it to play COD or FIFA that looks better.

Games being cross-gen and going to PC is valid criticism... Nixxes should be used to get PS3 games on PS4/5.
The price increases were needless too.
A feature like quick-resume would be nice but switching between games really only takes few seconds on PS5 anyway.
Every normal non-gamer that has seen my PS5 said it looked either impressive or beautiful.... gamers, especially non-PS gamers seem to hate it but that is to be expected.
Volume difference between it and series x is only 5% and it's a better shape for most entertainment centers.
I'm just happy consoles are winning in general and crushing cloud gaming.

Whining about the console as a whole is a bit much. I agree it should be backward compatible all the way down to PS1 ... but one point did get me.
The gloss black is definitely a mistake. And it is absolutely ridiculous that they keep doing it.
If you wipe it... with ANYTHING.. it WILL scratch. Period. It will start with fine swirling and eventually look like complete garbage. It has always happened and always will happen. The only solution is to NEVER touch it with anything.. and since it is a dust magnet you'll have other issues beyond that.
I got a matte black dbrand skin for that section and it has cured my anxiety over it. You can wipe the dust off of those with anything and it will hold up.

Funnily enough, my PS5 sits comfortably (horizontally) on my (white glossy) TV unit shelf. However, I am unable to fit the Series X on the shelf, hence why it has to stand behind my TV, like a very naughty console.

The X is too fat, most entertainment centers have wide openings, not high ones.

I never once said they were doomed I said risk losing market share because they sit on their money and don't make as many games as they could be making. Microsoft is trying really hard to get gamepass subs. Epic is trying really hard to grow their store. Valve is moving too slowly for the level of competition they are up against but they are still the market leader in PC gaming. There is nothing wrong with saying you're doing good but you can be doing a whole lot better, Valve. It's called constructive criticism.

That they will lose their position as market leader if they aren't as proactive with content as Microsoft and Epic are being. Constructive criticism, bro. They are pushing Steam Deck and with it alternative OSes and form factors which is a good thing but with the amount of money they have they could also be making tons of great new games. Who actually disagrees that that would be a good thing?

That's not how 90% of the living rooms / ECs look like. The "most" bothered me since black and cubric is more neutral than two coloured and whatever shape this is supposed to be.
I know the S is white and i hate it. I have hidden it behind my tv and can't wait to get a X. All my hardware ist black. Tv, Boxes, AVR. Don't need something white between it. Some people may have white hardware or tv cabinets, where it fits better. But not the majoritiy.

To be fair just about this point the thing is: looking for an m2 ssd, check the characteristics, check carefully the speed of write and read, buy the ssd, if the ssd doesn't have the heatsink buy one, mount it, and only then "Take off face plate, unscrew, screw in, attach face plate". Is not easy for "normal" people.

But don’t take it personally, honestly, any day 1 support or even first year of buying a console as if it’s truely a must have is a bit on the sheepish side. It’s basically only blind faith based on previous consoles. I don’t care to comment on the console’s qualities beyond that, but yea, initial supporters aren’t really indicative of product quality.
