I always wondered how come that the gap between A list stars who could play almost any kind of role in a convincing way and not so experienced, let's say unknown talent, is so fucking wide.

First of, get rid of that god awful mustache and beard on Leon, he has always been clean shaven, and for goodness sakes man, cut the hair and you are fine. Claire, eh it is what it is.

Wesker looks like those protagonists on western action games 11 years ago, buzz cut. Chris is the one that looks most like Chris. Jill looks fine.

Second, I think these are just promo shots and not from the actual movie. Well atleast the locations and characters they use are more accurate than the first Resident Evil movie.

people seem to forget that everything about Resident Evil has b-movie vibes... the game and everything about it SCREAMS B-movie

so why are people surprised when they see a movie, based on a b-movie like game, that looks like a b-movie

Because i don't think it was originally intended to be a B movie game it was only forced into that way because of the god awful shitty actors capcom got for the first game so all the dialogue was a cringy fuckfest. The gamecube remake totally undid all of that shit by getting competent voicework which changed the feel it wasn't as cringy b movie as the ps1 original. Either way though it was still a shitload of fun despite the cheese, going back to the topic in the thread this is going to be dire in every way. Not a single resident evil film has done the game series justice they all have been varying levels of shit.

Wow. Chris and Claire (to an extent) are the only ones that look like the source material. What in the fuck is that casting for Leon? I thought it was some sort of attempt at Kevin when I first saw it.

The director is a fucking moron. Couldn't even get Wesker's hair right. It's as if he thinks it's *impossible* to look like the game characters and play the role to have audiences "connect" with them.

When will this 'woke' bs end? I'd love to know the percentage of res evil fans who actually wanted Leon to be played by this guy... I mean he looks like he could just be a regular rcpd officer 🤷‍♂️

The guy playing Chris looks good. I didn't realize that was "Arrow" 's little brother. Claire looks too damn old. Leon reminds me of one of my friend's little brother. Wesker needs his top gun haircut and shades. Jil pick is awful, I would never guess that it was supposed to be her.

Judging by the reaction in this thread I'm the only one who looked up the director/writer when production was first announced and immediately lost interest. But hey, I watched all of the Hellraiser movies so I'll probably watch this eventually.

The funny part is you can just take the two RE2Make voice actors for Leon and Claire and get pretty good live-action adaptations of each character. Get the Leon voice actor a shave and the Claire actress some blue contacts and you would be good to go. Instead, we get this shite, lol.

Also, how come we can't just focus on the goddamn mansion incident? Why are Leon and Claire even in this damn thing? Take your damn time and focus on one story at a time. Flesh out the characters properly. It's like these writers and directors that they get to adapt videogames are straight up braindead.

I always like to pretend that I've watched a full movie and be able to render judgment off it by looking at 3 photos.

You know that the Leon voice actor actually looks very similar to the movie actor right? He looks like a typical mediterranean guy.

I guess it's the hairdo. Leon is nothing without it. Problem is, It was already ridiculous in the 90's.

Maybe my eyes are shot, but I don't think this guy looks anything like the guy in the OP. Give this guy a shave and a Leon wig and he wouldn't be so bad. Probably a bit old, though. Would be better as an older Leon.

Of course, he would have the actual voice of Leon from the Remake which would be neat. Maybe this guy can't act for shit, though? Who knows?

El Leon Es Kennedy. Who cast this dude and thought he fit the part? That hair is ridiculous and he’s fucking too scrawny for even those skinny fit clothes. I’d watch it to laugh at it.

Milla and Paul are probably looking at it and thinking they have fuck all to worry about.

Fucked up casting.

There is no other reason to choose actors that look nothing like the characters, than pushing political agenda. Which is never a good thing for the quality of the product.

It's like doing a movie about Mike Tyson, but cast a short chinese man to the part. Even if he would be the best actor of the world, it just doesnt work.

It just breaks the immersion and viewer have to think: who the fuck this character was again?
Like on witcher series, where they casted actors that didnt look anything like the games, it made it difficult to follow who the heck some of them were.

On old RE movies most of them looked like their game versions, which made them easy to watch and while they arent considered as master pieces, I have always liked them because they feel and look like the games (mostly)

I kind of don't know what to think about it. Yes, it looks bad but the second picture at least has me intrigued for some odd reason. The choice for Leon was terrible. I'll probably see it since I've just about seen all of the resident evil live action and cg movies.

It looks promising tbh. The "B movie" look is what made the first RE games great, the live action opening of RE 1 on PS1 is still so iconic IMHO. Reading the interview, seems the director know what is doing, I expect it to be at least better than the shitty first series of movies or the embarrassing Netflix CGI series (and probably the Live Action one too).
