DEATHLOOP Review Thread

Technically that is not true, as of march 21 Arkanes salarys, rent and other expenses would ultimately come from Microsoft so the last 6 months of deathloops development was funded by Microsoft. The development time prior to that was funded by Zenimax.

The $7bn purchase means MS picked up all of Bethesda. Liabilities, assets, debts etc
Budgets are made way earlier in development, so both of you are wrong. It's not like Arkane has to wait for a check from either Zenimax or MS to clear every month lol.

DonJorginho DonJorginho Wb Ye. You truly are the life of the party, that verse you laced with 3000 was some of your best shit since college drop out, i miss the old flow bring it back.

I started the gym again recently after a long period of being a lazy twat and it’s safe to say I was “ever so slightly” tired after ten minutes....

Perhaps I could be his assistant? Make a few suggestions, make coffee , adjust his chair etc?

His chair hasn't been adjusted in some time... Onboarding documents will be arriving to you soon.

I am at a crossroads as to what system to buy this game for. I was hoping this would release on PC gamepass but alas it seems like steam only.

Reasons for PS5: It is literally collecting dust since June. I beat Ratchet and Returnal then and there has been no reason for me to boot it up at all. As it stands, it doesn't look like there is a reason to turn it on until February with Horizon so DeathLoop could help with this dearth of games. Also unique haptics on Dual Sense.

Reasons for PC: M&K and controller options. Most Arkane games have been significantly better on PC (i.e. Prey). My gaming rig has better performance over console.

I am leaning towards PC because of the higher performance, but PS5 is giving me pause just because I have been mainly playing on PC and Series X and would like a reason to play PS5.

That video says it runs like shit even on his high end PC compared to PS5. So there you go

Getting it as part of Gamepass seems winning to me. It's not as if Xbox players don't have other games to play until then.
I mean, if it helps Xbox owners feel better about having nothing next gen to play but The Medium which is one of the worst games ever, than OK go for it.

But no, having to wait a year to play a game thats sitting at 88 on MC is not winning at all.

Can you just kindly fuck off with your shit please?

I own a PS5, but I’m happy to wait a year to get this in my sub rather than pay £60. It’ll still be great next year, and I can play Ratchet and Clank, Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, Psychonauts 2, Halo Infinite, Battlefield 2042 and Forza Horizon 5 in the meantime.

What shit? Lmfao you just dont like hearing you're not "winning" in my opinion cause this comes out for Gamepass in a year and wont be on Xbox til then? Seems like a logical opinion for anyone who doesn't wanna fanboy over their Xbox.

ill just get it now…imagine caring about paying $55 for what appears to be a GOTY contending title in an already light year for games

Think I'll have to hold off on a purchase until PC performance improves if the issues cited by a few YouTubers are true. Digital Foundry performance video it is then.

My review for ACG

I rated it a Wait. Pretty ok, and loved the way the story changed around good music overall and voices. But lack of much difficulty at all, low number of weapons, low number of skills, barebones upgrade systems, and poor AI made it very hard to recommend. As I said in the review when I recorded it yesterday. I can see people who want an easier game likening it, because it is a power fantasy in that way, but playing a game this long, lack of any real risk caused me to sort of turn off at a rest stop and getting back on was more and more difficult. If it had more powers or more enemy types and better ai then it may have been more engaging. I was let down also by the Visionaries being nothing more than normal characters in the game with one Slab power. So going against them is like...almost shockingly casual.

Based on the footage I saw of this yesterday on here... I wasn't expecting 10's. That's awesome. Congrats to Arkane Studios. I can't wait for this on Gamepass since I don't have a PS5 :(

I'm extremely happy for Arkane as an Xbox first gamer, and I hope Playstation owners really support the shit out of this game. The only reason I'm not getting it for PS5 is to wait to play it for Xbox, but I couldn't be any happier for the studio.

With Game Pass or a purchase on Xbox you get both the PC and Xbox edition of the game.

People were judging it just on shooting and combat alone without actually considering the planning and strategy and investigative part that goes into the planning of your attacks. It's kinda like some badass spy shit with special powers.

Flight Simulator? Psychonauts 2? Upcoming Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, and Stalker 2?

Only paying a sub for the above (and many others) seems like winning to me. Do you only play next-gen exclusives? Because the number of games next-gen exclusives for 2021 on PS5 would be... 3. I really enjoyed Returnal and Ratchet and Clank, but would have been a rather boring year if that was all I played.

Also, waiting for a 88 MC game to not pay $70 for it honestly feels like winning to me. It looks to be an amazing game, but I have plenty of other games to play before it comes to Gamepass.

But PS5 exclusive gamers can go ahead and purchase it and enjoy it, I am not saying it is a bad thing, but since I own all the consoles I may as well wait right? I've got Tales of Arise this month, Far Cry 6 next month, Forza Horizon 5 after that, and then Halo Infinite after that.

interesting to see an outlier opinion

Wondering who to trust. This game is too polarizing. The reviews don’t line up with what I’ve seen but they’re too high to ignore

Why do you think it’s getting perfect scores

You're really going to argue Flight Simulator and Psychonauts 2 make Xbox worthy competition at the present moment. Even though one is literally a flight simulator as the title suggests, and Psychonauts 2 is not a real "next gen" game and is on PS5 as well.

Man, some of you Xbox guys just refuse to let it go. PS5 is objectively better right now. There is no arguing it, and even trying shows weird delusion.

Thanks Karak Karak .

Out of interest, did you manage to complete the game? If so, is it a genuine puzzle that really takes some time to work out? Or, is it reasonably clear what you need to do, it’s just a case of working towards it?

Well like I said in the review the game is dead easy. Many people take easy to mean awesome! That can sort of be tracked in both verbiages as well as just prior titles and what scores were given. But ignoring that, if whoever is giving a game a perfect score never gives them out and this one got one...man I don't know.
If they give perfect scores out sometimes...well I still don't know lol. But it would make a bit more sense I guess.

Even if 10 doesn't mean perfect on say a 1 to 10 score. There is nothing, ever, even once about Dishonored that is a 10. Not only compared to its genre, but also compared to just games in totality. Again I don't rate on numbers because to me a 10 would be somewhat hard to get.
Also its best to remember I liked a good deal of what occurs in the game.

Hearing that the old Arcane controller lag is back again is a fucking bummer, but good to know.

I don't think you understand the concept of objectivity.

Lol quit acting like you aren't just a fanboy. You literally said "everyone is winning" "Xbox is winning cause we get it in a year on Gamepass"

Focus on those 3 kids instead of coming to an internet forum to talk nonsense if theyre such a priority
I had this game in the "maybe" pile, but after hearing more about it (and constantly seeing previews about it at Sony shows) it's gone to the no pile.
If it comes to PS+ I'll be winning because I now have no intention of buying it and I won't need to spend extra money to try it.
