He's been more right regarding RE than he has wrong, even though he's been plenty wrong, or misled.
I'd be surprised if this is regarding RE9 though, I doubt they're far enough into development for this info to filter its way down to him.

I don't trust a guy who admitted to ACTUALLY "leaking" wrong information (AKA lying) for the sake of console wars.
Besides let's think a little Jill just got her game remade a year ago so the chances are if this is a continuation of the first person Resident Evil that she won't be the protagonist (if she's in at all) and instead Capcom will focus on Rosemary who's story takes place at least 15-18 years after RE8.
If they're bringing any of the old characters it'll be ina full on series reboot/soft reboot or in a spinoff game outside of the current cannon, something like a Revelations 3.

I am less excited about RE after the ending of RE8. They stretched the story too far. They should've taken advantage of RE2 remake and soft rebooted the franchise from that point.

Do they really believe ALL RE games are made by 1 team? Using this logic, RE7 and 8 should have never even come out last gen, "they" would be too busy porting RE1, RE Zero, RE CV, etc lol
I'm always surprised when I hear gamers that don't even get their own hobby.
RE series will continue to get ported by their PORT TEAMS THAT FOCUS ON PORTING.
RE 9, 10, 11 etc will be made by the teams that actually make RE games from the ground up, even the teams that remake RE games, are not the same that make 7, 8 etc. None of that is an either or, would be like saying how dare they make a Bluray box set of your favorite show before starting the new season, or how dare they have a re-run and we waiting for the new season etc. It tries to make an either or, where one simply doesn't exist.

Well, we now know that Jill has decelerated aging, That explains why she doesn't look as old as the rest of the cast. It also gives more credibility to the rumor in the OP.

Jill or Chris seem like lock ins for the new main entry to me, barring them going with a new character a la Ethan again.
Leon's main in RE4R, they TYPICALLY don't give mainlines and side games back to back with one main character, barring Chris being in Vendetta and 7/8, but even then, his appearances in those games were relegated to "wise old veteran who has not only seen this shit before, but has also DEFINITELY see enough of it," role.

People will think it's a CGI movie, then the camera will pan around after this scene...
...To a behind the shoulder view of co-op gameplay snippets of both Chris and Leon. Then the trailer will end with a logo of Resident Evil X.

Never feel of reasonable of the mold things in both installments.
The RE root is pretty much based on the scientific laboratory on bioweapons development (Bio Hazard).
The belief/tribe things especially in 7th and 8th despite it might be called horror but not on the Bio Hazard root.
It's like a random combination of horrors the people maybe experiencing.

But I agree. I thought RE8 was quite stupid, especially because of the zany range of villains it boasted of.
