In this video, we take a look at and test out the new Apple iPad mini 6th Generation 2021. A15 Bionic chip, 8.3" Liquid Retina display, 60Hz refresh rate, Apple Pencil 2nd Generation support and it runs games like Minecraft, Genshin Impact Pubg, and Call of Duty Mobile at full speed plus this little tablet can run our favorite emulator like PSP using PPSSPP, Sega Saturn, PS1, MAME, GBA and many more using RetroArch for IOS Unfortunately as of making this video the Dolphin Emulator is not working with IOS 15 on the iPad mini so no Gamecube and Wii emulation yet! and by the way, the 6th generation iPad Mini does support HDMI over USB C!

I don't know it this is a big victory for this tablet, but all the emulated games shown are working perfectly on ~ 2013 smartphones.
Would be interesting to see how it handles switch and ps2 emulation, but i guess it's not ios compatible.

cool but i prefer a POCO F3 pro + razer kishi.
That alt store shit is such an hassle on IOS.

Hate that i need to refresh it. It sometimes won't work. I still use it on my daily driver.. Because fuck youtube adds.

No high end smartphones from 2018. PSP and SegaSaturn are here running better than original hardwares. I don’t remember my Note 8 running those that great at launch.

What shenanigans are necessary to run emulators on iOS?

I played all of these ( and much more) full speed and with shaders on my rooted Note 3.
Ppsspp, psx, fbn run on a potato and Saturn emulation is usually hit&miss, but nothing to raise eyebrows.

There are other much more intensive games/drivers (in mame in particular) this youtuber could have tested, so we'd see how powerful the tablet actually is though.

You need to go through some hoops to install something called altstore. You dont need to jailbreak but its a bit annoying to mantain.

I have a ds emu and dolphin on my ipad pro

Any reason as to why the ipad doesn't run ios games in fullscreen? What is up with those black borders on the sides?
