I feel bad for people like that honestly, they want to live in a bubble. Like I live in a small town in middle of nowhere. People here dont care who or what you are sex wise. If your at the bar watching the Syracuse or Bills game everyone literally has a great time and are all disappointed when the bills lose.

The fact that people get upset and need a bubble just to feel accepted to themselves to me is a red flag that you need to work on inner you. And that doesnt start in a bubble it starts with getting off social media, and being in person with family and close people that have been there for you throughout your young adult life.

Thats the reason there is so much tension within the LBGTQ. Find me something from the past 5-6 years about someone being fired, harrassed for being gay/Bi/L. That stuff has been accepted since fucking Freddie Mercury. ANd now is seen as a form of love. People fall in love or like who they like and to me thats normal, you see it in the animal kingdom.

Where people have issue is the changing of science/terminology and forcing people including Psychiatrics associations to promote it to write it into law.

That website is a depressing blight on the internet. I was only there for up to date news but the constant political nonsense and woke SJW attitudes just got too much. I have no idea why developers flock there. This community (from the little time I’ve been here) is much more level headed or dare I say ‘normal’.

Here's a wild take of mine: it's actually a much easier target audience to cater to. Imagine if you have a mediocre game that nobody would bat an eye on under normal circumstances, and you slap some token representation characters and minorities in there. A normal forum like GAF wouldn't think twice about it, but at REEEE you're guaranteed to make some heads turn for this, which will translate into sales. And if you keep playing the inclusivity card, you can actually even guilt people into buying your games. It's kinda brilliant.

Also, if someone like Jim Sterling goes full bonkers, a community like REEEE will actually cheer on him instead of frowning their heads and see him for a clown like normal people.


So, as amusing as the REEEEE buyout is from a distance, I think it raises an important discussion point: why on earth is the market value for these clownworld communities so absurdly high? Like, EviLore , don't know if you can be upfront about it, but is NeoGAF of similar "worth" proportionately? If not, I would find it deeply concerning; it would be a testament that really, also from en economic POV, the loonies are running the asylum at this point. I was hoping that this trend was confined to designated spots like REEEE, but it might be a deeper-rooted societal problem at this point.
