Marvel’s biggest ladies man is officially in the MCU (and played by someone with a legion of rabid fangirls)

This has been “known” for a while, but a Variety reporter spoiled the second credits scene in Eternals last night immediately after leaving the theater because he knew just Tweeting the guy’s name would cause him to go viral because he has a billion girls after him:

The scene is just the second post credits scene and has Pip the Troll introducing him (Patton Oswalt is apparently Pip the Troll).

Eros/Starfox is Thanos’ brother, and a pretty major character in the cosmic side of Marvel. He’s also the biggest ladies man and will go after any female character in the roster.

I can't stop looking at this cover. It's mesmerizing. The longer I look at it the more ridiculous it gets, and I can not look away. What tf is happening with She-Hulks right hand?
On topic: Marvel sticking with the 'celebrity star power' strategy, if it ain't broke don't fix it! I'll definetly catch Eternals when it drops on D+.

I don't like that they are fishing for big star power up front. It must be brutally expensive to get some of these actors to agree to multi-part deals or go film to film. I'd rather have mostly lesser knowns (but perfect for the role) anchored by an older established actor. Then again, most of the cast of Eternals ARE "lesser knowns" aside from Jolie and possibly Hayek (it must cost a fortune to get them out of bed) so maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about.

I really hope they don't go on and on about Thanos related stuff. Seems to me they would just be continuously chasing Infinity Stones at that point.

They need star power for Eternals because it's unknown characters and the movie will never be released in China. Even though this is a credit scene, the Harry Styles fangirls are going to mob movie theaters just to see his two seconds of screen time.

Is eros as powerful as thanos? Villain?

Hero, one time Avenger. Bangs more chicks than Tony Stark and Star Lord combined.

My girlfriends daughter wants to see this film just because of Harry Styles, I told her I’ll save her some money and show it to her when it leaks to YouTube. The power of pop stars i guess.

EVERY MCU character, with the exception of Spiderman, Hulk, and possibly Captain America, was an "unknown character" when their first movie launched. You think anyone outside of 100 sweaty nerds knew who Ant-man, Dr. Strange, Capt Marvel, Black Widow, Thor, or Ironman were? Nope. Especially the Guardians! They were successful on the backs of actor charisma, good marketing, and the strength of previous films (which is why Iron Man is the most important film in modern history, it spawned a TWENTY BILLION dollar [and counting!] franchise).

Folks now just go to "MARVEL film XXX", I don't think the specifics matter much. Shang-Chi, who dat? Doesn't matter, it will be very similar to all those other films. I expect the Eternals will look very similar to all the others and hit all the same vibes. Good looking people punching CGI things while cracking quips and a plot arc so predictable I could probably write it right now.

But the devil is in the details, it's the little things that elevates these films into multiple rewatch events IMHO. I've seen every MCU film, even the half dozen or so I detest (ok, maybe just 3 or 4) just because there are enough fun bits in each one that they are all at least tolerable. It's cinematic comfort food at best, but sometimes a sloppy grilled cheese and a cup of tomato soup is just what you want :p

Everyone who saw it last night says it looks nothing like a Marvel movie due to who directed it.
Well, the trailer doesn't suggest that. It has the same costuming, CGI, lighting, color grading, etc. I imagine the stunt and action work were done by the same team (i.e mediocre and heavily relying on CG) as all the others as well. There are only a few action stand outs in the MCU, most of them done by the Russo bros. Don't imagine the Eternals will have that level but I'm happy to be surprised. If she can do what Coogler, Boden/Fleck, and Derrickson could not then more power to her. I'll know how much the MCU machine imposed on director will with the new Dr Strange, as Raimi has a very distinct style (though to be fair the MCU borrowed heavily from his earlier films already, aside from zoom shots, excessive dutch tilts, and gratuitous Bruce Campbell cameos :p
