What game are you currently playing?

Does it still have bad frame pacing on ps5?
There is some judder occasionally due to that, yes. The fps itself is a pretty solid. I'm playing on the second print disc with all the patches on disc too.

So yeah, and since you mentioned it, it's bothered me more xD maybe toys for bob will unlock fps to 60 with patch.

Alan Wake. Very happy that it's finally available on Playstation and I get to try it. I've done 2 chapters so far. Really enjoying the atmosphere and the episodic style works really well I think. Really struggled with the driving section due to the camera controls. I wish there was a way to play inverted as Alan but normal while driving, I don't want to have to manually switch back and forth every time I leave the car. That or hopefully there's not too many car sections.

The Sims 4.

Got in the mood for it for some reason. I think I enjoy making my house than actually playing the game though. :messenger_smiling_with_eyes: I spent hours just getting my starter house right.

Going to try and max out my Sim's skills. Last time I played the paintings were a good way to make money.

In the spirit of the season I fired up Ghosthunter for the PS2. (never played it before) Haven't gotten far, but it has excellent presentation and visuals for the era and a spooky/funny ghostbusting theme. The gameplay does seem a bit rudimentary, but maybe the style will carry it for me.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Currently going through DOOM Eternal and it's DLCs. Already beat the base game back when it came out but I wanted to revisit it anyways since now I have a better PC and have bought both DLCs. Game looks and plays like a dream, buttery smooth. It's amazing how well optimized the game is.

Next, about the DLCs... I have already beaten Part I on Ultraviolence and hoooly shit, this game could kil the faint of heart, specially on some of those new Slayer Gates, or that 2 marauders 1 guy moment. It has been amazing, totally worth the wait and even better than some parts of the base game. Specially loved the first two levels, and their music, which it's just fucking amazing.

Specially loved this one, the exploration segment (the start) kinda reminded me of Metroid Prime, while the heavy fighting part is just bonkers.

Now onto part II. I heard it's worse than the rest of the game but whatever, one can't get enough DOOM.

I'm not ashamed to admit I like The Sims. Played 2, 3, and 4.

Started and then finished "The Gardens Between".
Short, fairly easy game that can be completed in an afternoon. Simple mechanics where you just hold one trigger to move time forward and another trigger to move time backwards. Characters walk through a diarama and interact with certain things that move with it's own time frame. Really Nifty little game.

Just about to finish Skyward Sword HD. it’s quite the ride and makes me all nostalgic for the Zelda’s we’ll never get again.

I finished Max Payne trilogy and I don't know what to do with my gaming life. Max Payne 2 is just god tier video game art.
Great games. I love how the cutscenes were done like a graphic novel. Found it a really unique way to tell the story.

Still read those lines in Max's voice.

I bought Ghost Recon Wildlands for cheap and I’m balls deep. First Ghost Recon game since Advanced Warfighter on the 360 for me. It’s very addictive, I like that Ubisoft open world structure, but I am a completionist and may have started this game at the wrong time because there are big games coming up that I want to play.

Halo MCC to prepare for Infinite. I never much cared for these games back in the day (I only played 1+2) but they're growing on me. I even bought a Series S to play Halo 5 in spite of its reputation.

I'll probably try out the Gears series afterwards. I only played the first one and it was alright.

Chrono Trigger [SNES] -playing thru this for the first time in well over 20 years. Still has all the charm, amazing music, and gameplay excellence its always been known for. These are easily some of the greatest characters in any media. Frog is just the best. There are some clunky bits though like not knowing clearly where to go next that I dont rememeber. Playing on original hardware with the RetroTINK 5X - this is the best the game's ever looked.

Halo MCC and Halo 5 multiplayer [Series X] -the thirst for Halo Infinite is real and all the Halo freaks are back online. Some seriously tough sledding - people are out for blood. Bring your A game or rage quit in shame.

Progear [Capcom Arcade Stadium - Series X] -probably the most underrated and virtually unknown high quality shmup of all time. Nice to finally be able to purchase and play this legitally. Its Cave's Deathsmiles set in an alternate WWII timeline. This version seems tougher than any rom version ive tried - maybe ill just have to bump the difficulty down a notch. Im not quite sure but I think I detect just a hint of input lag here - I could be wrong though.
Im a big fan of the presentation of this Capcom Arcade Statium stuff - all the way down to the noises of the coins being dropped in the machine. What a rad collection.

not playing yet. But im going to start CyberPunk 2077 tonite. (pray 4 me).
Got it in the bargain bin a month or so ago from Best Buy. Wasn't going to open it till it got a next gen patch. But since they just delayed that again...i figured screw it. Not waiting till next Summer.

That said. Just opening the game already pissed me off lol. These lugheads decided to package the map and promotional material in-between the cardboard sleeve and the gamecase. Instead of inside the game case. So now when u remove the junk mail from the package...the cardboard sleeve no longer fits on the game. ugh

I had my fill of Hades, so moved on to other recent Game Pass titles namely Avengers, Psychonauts 2, Back 4 Blood, and Procession to Calvary. I don’t have much patience if a game doesn’t grip me so all four I was done after 30 min to 1 hr of game play. Perhaps I just chill with other media until FH5.

I played through it the first time last year when I bought a CRT with a proper RGB retro setup. It's still a fantastic game even by modern standards and possibly my favorite game of that year.

I'd suggest it to anyone curious if they haven't played it yet. It's absolutely still worth it and I'd never been interested in JRPGs before.

Put Sly 2: Band of Thieves on the backburner for a bit.

Due to GTA Trilogy DE hype, I started one of the GTA's I've never played: Liberty City Stories (PS2)

And I'm doing something I've never done with a GTA game before either: going for 100% completion!

It's both satisfying and frustrating chipping away at all the game's activities available, even if some of them have the potential of being frustrating in spots. I currently extended my health, got access to pistol/shotgun/armor near my safehouse + infinite sprint + being fire proof + got the fastest taxi (car overall? I dunno, lol) in the game, haha.

For a "PSP game", while I'm feeling every activity/mission being very short compared to what you'd find in San Andreas for example, I'm having tons of fun. The AI is insane, the traffic is insane. It's a blast.

i liked it on PSP. but the PS2 version looks so bad on my TV

What time is it?
-Almost wrapped up the Back 4 Blood campaign with a buddy. My feelings are mixed on it so far. Giving this type of game a rogue element is interesting but the downside is that Act's are far too long. At its' core, it is entertaining but all the surrounding trappings are some form of bad or annoying.
-Finished my easy playthrough of EDF2017 on Switch. It's a great port.

Jumped back on the Hitman wagon again - going for the platinum in hitman 3 + the two previous games on ps5. Glorious 60 fps is glorious, these games are amazing.

I played through DOOM Eternal twice when it first came out and then haven't played for the last year and a half. I purchased both the DLC campaigns a couple weeks ago, and have spent the last couple days getting familiar with the controls again in a new campaign. Once I feel back up to speed I'll dive into the first DLC campaign.

Nice, I enjoyed the entire series a lot. It's great fun and real challenging at higher difficulty levels. But so smooth once you get the hang of how the battles are supposed to be.

Resident Evil Revelations 2. Played some raid mode and I'm going to replay the campaign. I think I'm going to replay all the Resi games over a 12 month period (mainline and Revelations games). I've already beaten Resi 0 and Village so far this year

okay. I finally started CyberPunk 2077. Played for about an hour till u get to ur apartment. Gotta say i really liked that first 45 mins. If i get more of that i'll be happy.

playing on Series X. Didn't have any glitches or issues really. It chugged a little performance wise once or twice. But not in combat.

Positive impressions-- atmosphere, felt like i was in a movie, aesthetic

Negative impressions-- main characters voice acting (the guy voice), aiming felt a tad loosey goosey but idk if thats RPG related (?), hard to read and/or small text, hacking seems a little more involved than i was expecting...which means i might have to abandon using bumper jumper.

Hitman 3, Guardians of the Galaxy and Metroid Dread. PS5 and Switch.

I think I'll try Back 4 Blood on my Series X later today.

Just finished Borderlands 3 main story - still got the DLC to do.

Really enjoyed it, solo’d it with Zane, didn’t rush, levelled up a bit with side missions (think I ended up level 39) and took me 48 hours to this point.

Looking forward to dipping back in and out to mop up remaining side missions and the dlc. Something about this series just hooks me in - I never play them at launch, but when I get around to them it’s a great time.

I saw a lot of people complaining the humour was really forced but I actually didn’t notice that. If anything I thought the jokes were more restrained than previous instalments. Some moments did make me laugh out loud - I only heard it once but one time I killed some guy and he groaned as he fell ‘my chilli recipe dies with me…’ which both cracked me up and made me appreciate it wasn’t overused.

Beat Fusion again and I now I have to go for the best ending. God, I hate this game so much. It's actually worse than I remembered.

Returnal baby! Now that he’s got that sweet save feature. Finally feel like I can come back to it, Who would’ve thought such a crazy feature like quick save be so beneficial. No I’m just playing everyone do it with me, but either way it’s fine to come back to it now.
On top of that, Ghost of Tsushima, mainly legends. (Stealth question here) Speaking of.. does anyone know if they have plans to add even more to that? Or is it just kind of done? I logon every week to do all the nightmare stuff that rotates but man.. I’d really love to see more added, such a weird thing to have in a single player game but so fun.

Finished Control. Just going after the platinum trophy.

Such a great game. Honestly, one of the most original and surreal things I've played in a long time. Glad that a sequel is happening.
I’m several hours into Control and absolutely loving it. Funny thing is I gave it a try about a year ago and it didn’t click for me then and I refunded it. Then I gave it another go on pc on my new build because I had it in my epic library. Glad I did.

I like the setting and story in Control but found it way too easy to get lost, spend most of my time wandering around trying to get where I'm going.

Just want to say I love this thread. Such a crazy eclectic taste in games, across decades and dozens of platforms, still beaming from thousands of monitors, CRTs and handhelds. Makes me feel a lot better about my backlog. I will get to them, one day. The mood will strike. Or retirement.

I could totally see that. It’s one thing that I don’t like a lot. The maps are confusing. Seems like it helps as you unlock more fast travel spots.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Yeah, I know there is lot of shooting the crypts and fairly easy to get through but man, the gameplay and control are just so damn slick. Just love playing this game. Going for the Plat. After that I‘ll prolly dive into Guardians from the same studio. Those people have talent.
