Looking forward to this. I have zero nostalgia for the game, which will either be a good or bad thing depending on how good it is.

Exp share all over again for the big brain pokemon lovers lmao

Dissapointed with alot of toxic changes, including this exp share and one time TM use(like, really?). I was willing to at least give a chance in the name of the old times, but its certainly notable they are focusing in whole new audience, full of retarded people.

Edit: seems like it has more chances to get the TMs again, which is a relief to say the least.

Didnt realize how many people hate the modern exp share system. Idk, to me it just drastically cuts out the amount of grinding i would normally need to do. Its not as asinine as the rare candy pieces introduced in Sw/Sh and Lets Go that essentially allow you to have level 40+ pokemon before facing the third gym.

Apparently exp share is mandatory again from what ive been seeing?
Why are they so in love with this? The games were always easy if you just wanted to play uncompetitive, you could pretty much complete every game by over levelling your starter. With EXP share for the team it’s basically super mega easy mode.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2021, and they promise to bring “faithfully reproduced” remake versions of these classic DS titles from 2006 to Nintendo’s latest console with “easy-to-understand, player-friendly conveniences of the modern Pokemon series.”

So, what exactly does all that mean, and how do these games differ from the originals? Join us as we break down everything we know about these new versions of the beloved Generation IV games!

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be available on the Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2021, and fans can now purchase a special Nintendo Switch Lite Dialga & Palkia Edition if they want to go all-in on their return trip to Sinnoh.

Gen IV has always been the weakest imo, and the art style of these remakes is worse than the originals.

I hope they don't do Gen V dirty like this when those remakes come around.

Dude, I played this game around 20 years ago. You guys are going to love it, trust.

This game is clearly not the same.
One example is the lack of option to turn off the Exp Share.
I could go on but that would be spoilers.

For anyone who like Platinum, be warned this game is possibily a let down. Watch videos first if you guys are unsure or don't trust me.

Oh dw I was just making a subtle jab at how gamefreak is one of the worst content recyclers of all time.

Wait. Some people are against Exp share and re-usable TMs?

I mean, if you want a challenge that much wouldn’t you be all for single-use TMs?

As somebody who was there for Gen 1 and endured the grind of old-school RPGs, I really can’t see any evil in Exp share. Sure, make it optional and let people enjoy their Nuzlockes if they absolutely must, but for me, it’s a godsend.

Not that I’m going to play a Pokémon game again for a while, mind.

There's no issue with then having the exp share it's just their bone ass decision to not allow it to be turned off.

Why are they so against it?

Nobody is against. They just want an option to turn OFF.

Some fans take this out of proportion to defend this company.

What I meant was why is Nintendo against giving the choice

No defending Nintendo from me it's a stupid move and always has been.

As a casual pokemon fan who could give less of a shit about ev training, i love xp share, it makes my experience smoother and cuts down on grinding. I hope its in every pokemon game going forward. But why not make it an item like in x and y so people who are too stubborn to use it dont have to?

It has very little with EV training, people aways cared about this after league since ages. Its about level discrempancy. When was the last time you played?

They need to meet the deadline, so thats 'why' some options looks rushed.

The exp.share are good for train pkmns for competitive porpuse, but they litelary destroy the mainline game.

It has to do with how they implemented the game taking into account the audience target for that game. XY, alonside SM and remakes between already had Exp Share as a key item that affects your party. But as an item it could be turn off because those games didn't took the item into account(meaning if on your entire team will be way overleved).

SwSh goes that way:
Mindless beating of trainers>mindless capture pokemons>center> gym battles or evil team>center>repeat the first one

In resume, game focus on mindless beating with nothing in between.

I never played Pokémon but by exp share you mean the party members who are not in battle also get exp? Isn’t that a good thing?

It's a thing that wasn't in Pokemon at the start or for a few generations, the way it worked only the ones that participate in battle get exp and there was an item you could give another one in your party to hold to share the exp.

Nowadays every pokemon in the party gets equal exp even i they dont participate in battle. But over the years the AI has become too easy and the games hold your hands way too much so that strategy or typing doesn't really matter anymore, exp share makes it even easier. It has turned off a lot of old time fans, myself included.

My brother explained wrong.
Exp share is good for an extremelly casual trainer, as it avoid trouple of training and changing pokemons. However they create total imbalance in the game design because heavy discrempancy of overleved pokemons make it for a dead game(no challlenges or worries whatsoever), in conjuction with brain dead AI.
Remakes had following pokemons that makes this 3x times worse.

I understand enemy AI being easy is the problem and I could be completely wrong here but the way I see it if there is no exp share that means you have to individually grind each Pokémon to get high level so they be useful in battle. That not really “difficulty” and more extra work.

To me the problem seems to be the AI barely puts up the fight, exp share or not that still bigger issue here.

So you see why I use the "SwSh players didn't care about anything" comment. Seems that a range from crutial to minor problems are nothing for them, they just want to hold their Switchs and press A until they beat the game. My older brother learn that the hard way, his game is pratically collecting dust.
