What is the most underrated game so far this generation?

Just like the thread title asks, what do you believe to be the most underrated, overlooked game so far this gen?

My pick is Sackboy A Big Adventure

The art, the music, the variety in the levels and the challenges, it's fun and it's my current favorite platformer. I cannot recommend this game enough. There's way more levels than I thought there would be too. The soundtrack is a mix of some familiar songs and some other really nice tunes

If I had enough money I would buy it for every NeoGAF member

Hmm, I don't know if this should count but definitive edition is a recent launch so I will say

Shadow of the tomb raider. The definitive edition adds a lot. It is better than Tomb Raider 2013 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Critics called it boring suffering from uncharted syndrome.

Among New Releases its Scarlet Nexus.

I think I would agree. I just went back to the game and loving every minute of it. I kinda liked it at launch but still moved on due to how easy I thought it was, specially the first few levels. The levels later on though, are pretty challenging and fun as well. I hope this gets another entry.

Agreed! A sequel would be amazing. I love how the levels mix things up there's levels where you're sliding the whole time, levels where you stick to walls, levels where you can hover with rocket boots, I love it

It's definitely a well made game. I really hope we get another entry like this.

Pathologic 2 in terms of metacritic score and journalism attraction, the game is just thrown away but instead it could offer a lot of analysis material and it has good qualities that makes it stand out.
It's like those art house films but in a video game world so its less arthousey, but still good one if you are into these stuff.

It might not get another entry because sumo digital were bought by some company (don’t remember which one), so they are not independent anymore and likely they won’t be able to work with Sony again for an exclusive.

Recently probably Age of Empires 4.
I went in expecting a 7/10 game and was kind of blown away. Sure the game is kind of bare bones with limited factions. But the ones that are there all play very uniquely compared to previous AOE games like 2.
The new seige gameplay with proper stone walls and towers is also a big new edition to the series.
Aoe4 also runs like butter and looks much better in person than most of the videos online.
The campaign is also nice but the skirmish and multiplayer are where it shines.

Flight Sim.

People for some reason consider it strictly a simulator and because of this discard it's groundbreaking technical achievements and gameplay possibilities.

But in reality it's a sandbox game with tons of stuff you can come up with, just like Forza Horizon.

Recent competitive Reno Air Racing expansion cements this even more. Not to mention challenges, massively multiplayer shared whole earth to explore and virtual sightseeing taken to other level.

It just makes me sad that people unfairly discard or downplay MFS with "it's not even a game" narrative.

Returnal.

It was snubbed at The Game Awards, and many people still haven't played it. But it's such a unique and amazing game. The moment-to-moment gameplay is second to none. The story could have been tied better, but it is still so good. And the 3D audio design is the best I've ever come across.

Not appreciating Returnal enough is glaring evidence of why we don't get many good, creative, unique games more often and why we get yearly rehashed releases of Assassin's Creed, NBA, Call of Duty, Fifa, etc.
