Very excited about the campaign. I don't do multiplayer these days much anymore. Only downside is apparently lack of diverse environments, which is disappointing, but I'm looking forward to the sandbox style format.

I think this is going to be 343's comeback. It sits at an 87 meta right now. What it does still need is some fixes for the multiplayer.
Edit 1: A small remark, i do pretty much agree that having just one single biome is a tad disappointing considering the fact that multiplayer has some pretty solid looking, vertical maps. I expected the campaign to have some of that too.

So 343 actually cooked up a great package of a game .. who would have thought they would be able to pull it off after that infamous E3 showing? Not me that’s for sure.

So congrats to them, a couple more days and I’m jumping in!

About the same score Halo 5 had lol. So I'm assuming it's a 7 or 8/10. Not surprised that Jeff Grubb, Windows Central, and Ryan from IGN are praising the hell out of it. These same people praised the hell out of Halo 5's mediocre campaign

I’m glad you’ve found a way to cope with these great review scores, but it’s not sustainable to have all this bile. You could save yourself all this pain by either

- buying a Series S
- streaming via xCloud
- setting up a gaming PC

cheers!

So 343 now made 3 games and they keep proving that they can't write a decent atory as that's a universally criticised aspect of all their games.
I would not say that story is bad.
It's great. 343 really dig themselves out of Halo 5 hole lore wise. Story is more intimate and character focused, characters are great and some revelations are fantastic.
It's just, they left one big plot point unanswered because they are shooting for live service. And that's probably story's biggest fault

The summary of the campaign reviews seem to suggest it's a decent, if forgettable, experience.

Actually, they read like it’s one of the best - If not the best - Halo campaigns, with stunning gameplay.
Several reviewers are talking about multiple playthroughs and eagerness to jump back in after completion. That’s not a quality associated with ‘forgettable’.

87 MC is also considered way more than ‘decent’ 😂

I have been expecting for a while to get campaign content drops that unlock more biomes and that's fits into thier halo infinite is a platform comment.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for. Just curious how they are going to do it and how often the drops will come.

The summary of the campaign reviews seem to suggest it's a decent, if forgettable, experience.

That's not the jive I'm getting from these reviews. The story isn't stellar but the game play knocks it out of the park.

Wait, you already played through the game to know story isn't so bad? I don't think you did. Almost all reviewers have singled out story as the weakest link and being quite subpar.

From ign, guess its only one biome for the whole campaign. I cant wait to play but thats hella dissapointing coming from even halo 5 which im replaying.

It‘s one Biome with really good Halo level design and rock solid shooter sandbox. I didn’t miss other Biomes but after this long development time … There are other design flaws in the game which demonstrate quite well how struggling the development had had been. On the other side, and that’s very important to note, despite those flaws it feels and plays really good. Story is strong and by far better than Halo 5 but didn’t resolve every plot in the game. Overall one of the best Halo campaigns. Looking forward for they approach on future content.

From Digital Foundry in the other thread.

Halo Infinite's campaign can finally be fully revealed and the news is good. 343's take on the open world is great, combat is the best it's been in years and audio is sublime. Problems in the tech department take off some of the sheen, but 343 tell us that key issues are already being fixed for a post-launch patch. And ultimately, even as it stands, the developers have delivered one of the best first-person shooters of the last decade.

Sure sounds ‘decent but forgettable’…
