I think so too. I mean Luigi mansion beating forza or call of booty would be kind of funny lol.
Luigi Mansion does sell alot more than people think.

In terms of actual games: the person is right but they are excluding like gift cards for mtx. its basically the area that Sony/MS are killing Nintendo on.

Really not surprised by this list. PlayStation and Xbox users skew heavily to digital games. Premium consoles and a premium Ethernet experience. Nintendo consoles are loaded to brim with casuals, children who need physical presents for Christmas.

LM3 has sold over 10m units, confirmed in Nintendo’s financials.

Yeah most PS and Xbox users definitely use an Ethernet connection and are hardcore adult gamers who never play trash like FIFA, Fortnite, CoD, Madden and NBA and never ask for mummy’s VISA.

Holy Nintendo Batman! I haven't bothered to check Amazon Best Seller lists in years, before the Switch even existed in fact. It makes sense, given it seems like nearly every household has a Switch and purchasing the physical copies of games seems more popular for that console than others (just a personal anecdote there - it seems like whenever I see people buying physical games these days it's for Switch).

I'm definitely thinking that's heavily skewed related to physical vs digital purchases. Or am I wrong?

I've personally bought all my nintendo games physically and all my pc games digitally in the last 10 years. I can't even remember the last time I ordered physical for pc? Probably Pillars of Eternity.

It’s not surprising that nintendo consoles still heavily skew physical. Not only are the games significantly cheaper but they don’t have a digital console out

And yeah it has a far younger audience on average which means people are still buying games as gifts

Why would you buy a digital game anywhere but the digital store unless you got some sort of bonus?

I actually pre-ordered Elden Ring at best buy because I'll get a steel book and I had a gift card.

No idea really. It just feels right to have physical copies with nintendo for me. Maybe it's just my old nostalgia. Maybe it's laziness. I just saw all the games I wanted on the shelf next to the switch i bought so BOOM lol.

I probably would have bought some physical pc games if they were next to the gpu I bought. It was amazing buying that in person versus online bot-purchase fighting 😄.

Yeah I know what you mean. I buy all the games for my switch physically if they aren't digital only. Digital feels wrong on console, but is normal to me on PC.

Do we know actuals around digital split between Xbox, ps and switch? I know xbox has the highest digital split, but wondering how far Nintendo is behind. I still mostly buy physical on switch and I'm digital elsewhere

We do for ps and Nintendo of sorts but not xbox officially. I will dig it out later.

Using their numbers, its about 45% digital aka 55% physical

Sony

Using revenue ratio between physical software vs digital software, its likely to be 80% digital aka 20% physical

I think people can do some quick maths to see Nintendo physical rev is 175bn yen vs Sony's 53bn yen for the last two months.

What a way to undermine games that are selling 10, 20, 30, 40 million copies... Also, love how everything else that's not Nintendo is "premium". If you look at Nintendo game prices, they look pretty premium to me.

Hint: quality doesn't come in resolution, frame rates and RTX buzzwords.

That's not a Luigi game, my dude. It's an eShop Gift card.
