The State of Cyberpunk December 2021

Are they actually improving the game and adding systems etc or just making a nicer looking console version for PS5 and Series S/X and calling it a day. Such a waste if so. All the assets are there it just needs more work and some changes.

I'd say the game systems here are already vastly superior to the likes of GTA. Like, you can actually have your own playstyle here like stealth, hacker, brawler, etc. Not to mention missions can be completed multiple ways and can have multiple end results. No shortage of content either. My biggest criticism would be the dumb level scaling.

If you played any Deus Ex you'll feel right at home

Only things that will bring me back in to this game is In-depth car, weapon and character customization.

Same....maybe lol

I already put in enough hours and I feel if they even add in all that, it will be dated by years as the game already is dated by its design by a lot.

So lets say next year or even 2023 they have some of those elements in, who is to say some Far Cry 7 aka 2077 or Watchdogs 4 aka 2044 or some shit doesn't just top all of that, next gen only, with the features we already know exist in those IP? What we even wish was in CP2077 already exist in lots of other games, which means by the time this team even get some of those features in, working for some reboot, relaunch, how many will really return when they see some new next gen only sci fi open world game announced, released etc?

So its really hard to say and what I wish they did the first time around is hard to get back to once you already beat it. I'd rather invest that time in new games by then and its hard to bring back a single player game once you beat it compared to some multiplayer game where people can be playing it for years.

This game pissed me right off. Got really far into it on the series X but then whenever I went to the east side of the map it locked up, it happend on every save too so the whole game was knackered

Never played it since. Piece of time wasting shit!
I know the feeling man. Fallout is a harsh game about a harsh world. It's as if the game determined you just weren't struggling enough in the game, and so it takes any measures necessary to ensure you feel the struggle regardless.

Fallout New Vegas. I accidentally doubled up on saves. No biggie, except for the fact that save spawned me just outside of a window... on the tallest building in New Vegas.
I'd spawn in as I was falling to my death.

My only recourse was to simply start over from scratch, which I ultimately did.

With another game of course. Never so much as looked at New Vegas again. Lol

I wasn't able to last more than 10 seconds listening to that rambling clown..

You and me both! Easily one of the most enjoyable games I've played in like 5-10 years. I've encountered like two bugs and one crash. Sure, there's room for improvement but I think it's an amazing game on PC. At least 9/10 for me, such a great experience.
Yeah me too, I've had a lot of fun with the game despite still being bitter about the shitty world simulation (and the bugs of course).

I had less bugs in Cyberpunk on PC at release than with the 2 year old gears 5 which I played 3 weeks ago.
Can´t deny that it was and still is a shitshow on the old consoles.
That's unfortunate. I still haven't gotten into it, just booted it up to make sure I could run it well. I guess I'm in no hurry, I can wait until they get it fixed but from the way you speak it seems like the game itself is inherently flawed.

Kickass avatar btw

I'd say the game itself is not really any more flawed than other AAA games out there, it has its strong and weak points.

The best way to describe it would be that its really great if you want something along the lines of Deus Ex or Far Cry, terrible if you want a GTA or Bethesda game.

I just dove into it on pc, and it’s still pretty rough. Personally I don’t think it will ever reach its potential, but I expect gamers to buy a sequel regardless. They are the most forgiving and forgetful market around, gamers need the games way more than the developers need to make them.

I played for like 4 hours and i had one npc (the guy who try to hack the computer in the church when you save their asses) having his subs text stuck on one line, the dog blocked in a place and i had to re-load the save to unlock him, an enemy stuck underground ( i mean half of his body was stuck) and the general jankiness during combat\interactions with npcs that any bethesda rpg has.

People to this day still say that you need some mods to make the game a good experience, i tried with the vanilla version and fastely regreted
Now that you mention it I do remember one game breaking bug at the start of the game. When you go to the first building after the explosion you have to go up and I don’t know what happened there but I just couldn’t avance at all so I had to restart the game lol.

I recently tried to replay fallout 4 (a game released in 2015) and it was still more bugged than my experience with cyberpunk at launch on pc...

People have selective\short memory if they think that cyberpunk was a one case only.

I also recently played Fallout 4 on PC earlier this year, and I would argue, despite all the bugs, FO4 is the superior game to Cyberpunk 2077 through and through from a general perspective kind of view.

At least with FO4 I can mod the shit out of the game, add some big ole' titties (if I wanted to), enhance the graphics to a very nice sheen compared to the original, add some awesome expansive mods like "Sim Settlements 2", and I can quite literally enjoy the game for many more reasons than just "the story was great."

Don't get me wrong, I loved CP2077 for what it is, a narrative driven RPG.

But it's a shite game beside the great story and the world they build (when you're not driving around).

I could spend hours enjoying the dialogue and conversations and interactions we had with the characters in Cyberpunk, but I could spend an infinite amount of hours just tinkering around in Fallout 4 and creating my own fun in the world that they have created with almost no restrictions beyond what we generally accept as limitations of video games.

I'm ok with you liking fallout 4 more than cyberpunk dude.

For me it was a painfull experience between not so great writing, clunky combat and miriad of bugs (much more than cp2077).

It was delayed twice already. Next Gen update. ETA was latest stated as Q1 2022 (was Q3 2021 and Q4 2021). So they got 3 months.

I never bothered delving back into F4 like finishing Skyrim earlier this year. But testing out F4 with the awesome mods, 60 fps and fast loading times on Series X, it was amazing. Too bad it wasnt like this on Xbox One. I just didn't bother finishing it since I plowed through Skyrim and got burnt out from Gamebryo.

F4's overland adventuring seems more barren too. Most action is inside buildings. At least with Skyrim, there's enough roaming around encountering random bandits and dragons and a lot of NPCs are outside in villages and such.

I've been watching a few videos about this game over the last few days.....I had no idea how bad it was....it seems it's hardly an rpg either.
Try playing it instead of watching constructed biased videos. If you don’t plan to disqualify most RPGs then it’s definitely worth calling Cyberpunk 2077 a RPG. While it’s not open-ended you have multiple quest choices throughout the whole game, you have tons of side quests, you can choose your character’s looks (face morphing, hair and body textures) and you have tons of skillset choices.

The things it do well, like the main quest and story sequences, first person immersion, is top-notch. The combat is far from the jank we usually see in real-time RPGs, except melee combat which is always bad in first person perspective.

What I’ve missed the most right from the start is character creator body morphing. They bothered to add physics and different looks for the dick but only let us choose one single body for each gender. That’s… one way to do it.
And police chases would’ve been awesome.
Could’ve had longer and more impactful lifepath storylines too.

An obnoxious video still trying to make some extra views and clicks out of the disaster happened last year. The guy's voice fit the whole thing though.

can i just be clear that

i played cyberpunk for 200 hours

and i never saw a stupid bug like the ones youtube montages are stuffed with.

i played it on PS4 pro and a pretty old pc.

I was never prevented from completing a quest.

Just saying.

I'm pretty sure they do hacky things like disabling pedestrian AI at just the right moment to make them pointlessly walk over random objects and stuff.

Fair enough but don’t miss out if you ever get a PC or if the new consoles get a good version. I’m kinda over it right now tbh but it’s mostly because I’ve clocked in over 250 hours so far. Hopefully there are expansions planned, maybe some new lifepaths, more endings, new romancing questlines, Panam was awesome, and as said it needs a full body character creator.

I'd rather play the unpatched launch version on an Xbox One S than listen to this clown for more than 30 seconds.
