"Waiting for sale" is trendy among PC gamers. Also I said AAA games and Nintendo barely has any game exceeding $50M budget, if any. Talking about state-of-the-art tech, expensive production projects, true gen leaps.
If you have a backlog, it makes no sense to pay full price for a game you aren't going to play immediately.

Same shit. Not to mention, console players get used cheap disc, and those aren't going to the devs.

At least pc players pays the devs full profit. Since they get 70%/30% of digital sales on pc

I’ll say the part where its a rental is the huge difference here, that’s why I didn’t bring up game pass for xbox or pc. Buying the game physically and digitally is still the preferred and dominance method for consoles as console users prefer owning their games. For Playstation and Nintendo at least.

That is the problem for the devs. Once a copy of disc is sold, they don't get money from that. 10 people can play that game, and the devs won't see their money.

With pc, its all digital. Any copy that is sold, will go to them. Downside is piracy. Their games are risk to a piracy.

There is no win for both of them. Only gamers win both these situations.

As much as I want to shit on used disc users, for not paying the devs, we have our own shit of piracy.

Sales for both of these devices, depends on users who buys digital, or 1st disc copy.

Perhaps that is one of the reasons why console games tend to more expensive: it is to cushion the losses from 2nd hand market.

On PC they have things easier, less administrative cost, no retail store middle man cut and other bs, and a drastically bigger market.

If you don't want to play a game right when it comes out, it makes sense to wait for a sale.

I'm waiting for BF2042 to get fixed and be $20 for example.

For broken games, yes. But buying games and not finishing them is a waste of money. I always focus on one game.

Why buy any game if you have stuff piled up anyway? Hope you're not talking about shovelware though.
Exactly. Why buy $70 games day one when PC players has countless unfinished games they can go to? There are countless AAA titles on PC (especially more so with backward compatible and now Microsoft/Sony porting their games over), some of which given free, there’s no need to indulge in FOMO by buying $70 games day one. While Forspoken is a key AAA prestige exclusive for Playstation 5, it is just another AAA title on PC

I don't just buy any game, and when not playing anything means nothing is worth my time even if given for free. And no, good games are very few, then comes your preference to narrow it down even more. I mostly preorder all my games and usually finish them within a few days 90-100% (not platinum) and stop playing sometimes for months.

Indeed, good games comes only several months in between on the Playstation, so players can’t build up any backlog. That’s why players cling onto the next AAA $70 games whenever there’s one
