Apparently all of the footage they've released so far just comes from the first half of the first episode, so they're hiding some shit.

Potential spoilers from a 4Chan plot leak that Lucasfilm DMCA'ed

Main antagonist is Q'ira played by Emilia Clarke. An elderly Cad Bane is her right hand man, Cad Bane is played by one of the Mando stuntmen but is voiced by Corey Burton, looks cool in live action. The duo are the big bads of the series.

Boba goes around uniting the Mad Max-esque gangs and minor syndicates who are at each others throats after Jabba's demise. Crimson Dawn at the same time are trying to gain a foothold on Tatooine. They view Boba as a threat and send various bounty hunters after him, including Black Krrsantan the Wookie. Black gives Boba a brutal beatdown similar to the Mudhorn battering Din in season 1 of the Mandalorian. Boba gives it his all though and gains black's respect. Various other bounty hunters go after Boba but he defeats them all.

Boba when he visits one of the cities is approached by a street girl, he views her like himself when he was young and he takes her somewhat under his wing as a protege, yes I know folks will moan at this, but the actress is really good. She's an important catalyst for later.

Muchi from the Bad Batch is in the show. Bib owned her, and mistreated her. Boba tames her and uses her as a mount in an episode. Later frees her and let's her go her own way.Rex and Echo show up in episode 5 (played by Temuera too obviously) he looks awesome, he has his Endor uniform and the Bad Batch cloak/poncho thing, Echo looks good too, his skin tone is mostly normalized, he has a new hand, Despite their age, they both still got stamina. Rex's reasons for seeking Boba aren't made clear as they're interrupted by more bounty hunters lead by Bossk when they meet. Boba and Bossk fight, but Bossk compliments him for his achievements thus far in uniting the underworld and it's nothing personal. Boba, Rex and Echo and Fennec mop the floor with the bounty hunters. Boba spares Bossk and Bossk then has a drink with Boba, Shand and the clones. Rex says he'll be in contact with Boba again once Boba deals with the issues he currently has. Rex and Boba leave.

After Boba unites the gangs, and various Hunters failed to kill him and Shand, Q'ira finally allows Bane to try at Boba again. Bane scouts the area and notices Boba's affection for the girl mentioned earlier, Boba is starting to view her like a daughter, Bane kidnaps her and contacts Boba, who is shocked Bane is not dead. Bane and Boba duel it out one last time, Boba wins, Cad Bane finally hits the bucket. The girl is okay and comes to live with Boba and Fennec, Boba starts to train here.

Q'ira is still out there however and isn't dealt with, she decides to hold off on further advances to Tatooine after Banes death.

Rex once again arrives this time Echo is not with him, he's with Din. Din tells him that they are going to attempt to take back Mandalore and Din wants Boba by his side.

Continued Mandalorian Season 3..

Sounds pretty lame....but I suppose if I wrote out The Mandalorian plot like that it would sound like a weak show too.

IF it's true, then it makes sense why the footage in all the trailers is just from the first half of the premiere episode. That would be needed to hide Emilia Clarke as the big bad of the series.

41 at the time of Mando/Book of Boba Fett.

10 in Attack of the Clones (meaning he was born the year Phantom Menace was set).

That would make him 35 in ESB, 36 in ROTJ, and then 41 on the Disney+ shows.
He's supposed to be 41 in these clips? The guy looks 60. And just by luck googling the guy, he is 60 or 61.

I still maintain that they should have kept in line with Boba Fett from the old movies and done a Spaghetti Western in space instead of this, but still cautiously optimistic for this show.

So they've only shown the opening minutes of the first episode. Takers on the reason why?

I'm going with either Thrawn and his Empire remnants as the main villains or de-aged Ford as Han Solo being a main cast member.

The rumor is because they’re hiding who the villains are:

Qi’ra from Solo and Cad Bane from Clone Wars.

If they did Thrawn he’d be in Ashoka as that‘s the Rebels sequel series. Thrawn doesn’t have the Imperial Remnant in canon. At the end of Rebels he and Ezra vanished into a dimensional portal. The Ashoka episode of Mando S2 is set right before the final scene of Rebels, and they just cast Sabine in the Ahsoka series, meaning her show will resolve the search for Thrawn and Ezra.

As much as I love Star Wars this shot is getting way too convoluted. I feel movies, either as apart of a trilogy or stand-alone, work best in this universe.

I saw that leak but thought it was debunked?

I figured by Mando's time Thrawn is back on the scene and is the leading the "fleet" Gideon said he went back to. Because I don't know why Ahsoka would be asking someone where he is if the last she knew, he was AWOL with Ezra and the space whales. And his fleet's insignia was on the droids in that episode.

I don't actually think he'll be in Boba, but I think the Ahsoka series will be a prequel to her episode in Mandalorian and set him up (and a loose Heir to the Empire adaptation) as the big bad for the Mandoverse (albeit more of an anti-hero based on canon Thrawn).

But I haven't read the newest Thrawn prequel trilogy so I might be off.

While I agree with this premise, I don't see anything good from movies getting made either.

Disney with the Star Wars franchise right now:

Not a fair comparison, it’s really so much worse: weekend at Bernie’s at least has charm.

Tbh the biggest and only real disappointment I've felt towards Filoni was that terrible episode with Obi Wan killing Maul. What wasted potential that was.

We could have had one of these magnificent new SW shows deal with that showdown, specifically the Kenobi show, but nah. I didn't like how wrapped up in it Ezra was either.

It's like they realized the potential of Maul, started building him back up again, and then bam. Short changed once more.

That was an absolute average first episode. The action was poorly shot and choreographed, which astounds me because Robert Rodriquez directed it.

The flashback scenes were quite boring and didn't work for me. And the contemporary scenes make it feel like Boba Fett took control way too easily.

The flashbacks were the best part. You see him escaping the Sarlaac and the stuff on Kamino was obviously Lucasfilm’s big ”Fuck you” to the clickbait websites who claimed Disney was going to use Boba Fett (when it was a movie) to decanonize, retcon, and erase the Prequels.

Gonna watch it when I get home but this was one of the concerns I had going in. I did not like the choreography/shots in the Mandalorian episode he directed either, and the trailer shots gave off the same vibe.

I agree. Pretty dull.

That was not a good start......wow. The fight scene against the shield guys was awful. Him putting on his armor with the music spiking each time he put on a piece was cringe as hell. This whole episode felt like the definition of trying to act cool vs actually being cool.

The Sarlaac sequence was pointless. I mean, I get that they want to move into the main story quickly but damn, fans have been waiting 40 years to see what he went through in there. They should've just skipped it altogether and left it up to imagination if that's all the time they wanted to spend with that. Compared to the EU novel, that was an absolute joke - and that's saying something.

In fact, why do any flashbacks at all? Either start with the current story-line, and let the episode breathe or have the entire episode take place in the past and then jump forward to the present next episode. This was the worst of both options.

It didn't help that the whole thing looked bad too. It looked just as bad as the episode he directed in The Mandalorian S2. Poorly shot, bad lighting, complete lack of any sense of cinematography....just terrible.

The good news is, my expectations were low and sufficiently met.

I thought it was aight. The action was clunky, but then there are 2 ancient ass actors trying to do it. Fett as a terrifying bad ass was long discarded as a thing and I have no illusions that he will be anything other than a kindly uncle type figure to everyone except absolutely despicable malcontents.

I dunno about that. Guy went pretty hardcore in S2 of Mandalorian.
