I saw the Simpsons one in Walmart yesterday. I really just want the TMNT one but at the bigger size, with the ability to play other 4 player games like Simpsons.

It's really really cool, I just can't see buying a whole arcade cabinet for one game, with no way to switch it out (authorized or otherwise).

I have a couple of A1Up cabinets and like them for what they are, but for $1000, you're getting into territory where you can buy an actual cabinet or a nicely made multicade. No thanks.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Wow, they've really expanded their selection since I last checked, I had no idea they have racing cabinets and stuff.

The countercades seem to need much bigger screens though, it looks so off with the 2 player controls expanding outside the cabinet for Marvel Super Heroes and SFII.

What are their innards then, have people hacked them to add more games? Like could you add Daytona USA to their Ridge Racer cab and have it perform good, and via what means, retroarch and cores or what? Or add Slipstream to the Outrun cab.

That's pretty dang cool; not a big KI fan TBH, but the prospect this could have for other games with full-size cabinets is what I'm more interested in. I would love if Namco could work something out to get a Tekken 1/2/3 cabinet for example.

Or, as I've seen mentioned here and there, just a cabinet serving as a "kit" with a built-in monitor, speakers, controls, and maybe even APU or decent CPU/GPU package with their own frontend as an OS installable. The user just supplies their own games and stuff like RAM, and go from there. At the very least A1UP should try doing this for arcade operators if they haven't already.

Haven't looked up on this myself, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's happened. Try searching for a few vids or maybe hit up Arcade Heroes to see if they have some articles on such. I would be interested in it myself.
