all they need to do is remake tm2 and tmb and add online play. A new game is not needed or necessary. been a fan of the series for over 20 years. I miss twisted metal alliance back in the day. A remaster of rogue trip would also be my dream but it'll never happen
I think you're going to see some level of Twisted Metal Black with online with updated graphics. Highest rated game in the franchise and one of the most recent.

It was probably thought that Lucid could pull this off because it's so simiilar to destruction all stars, but my guess is based on the quality of allstars, Sony wouldn't have been happy with what they have in time for it to release as a AA GaaS title next year.

Destruction is likely the worst PS5 game, so this isn't bad news. The car handling was good enough, but all the rest from art direction to on foot gameplay to the arenas was trash.

Any new Twisted Metal game will fail again. It's a dead end. It was fun when it was new and there was nothing better. Today you can have more fun with cars (not to mention other means of "transportation") in GTA Online on a larger scale. I would play Twisted Metal for a short time only for nostalgia.

Looks like the game director got poached with the move.

Weird situation. Wonder how many more they poached.

He's not credited as the CD for All-Stars, so it must have been for Twisted Metal.

Guess they still liked his vision? 2023 release seems more doable in that case if they haven't scrapped the work by Lucid

I wonder why they abanded Lucid Games and switched to fireSprite if they going to rehire the game director, something to do with Lucid Games maybe?

Could just show that Sony would rather just take the leads from Lucid instead of buying the whole studio. Add a few devs to Firesprite, instead of having 2 large studios both in Liverpool. Sorta redundant. Could also be a marketing idea to help build up Firesprite's image and not have people judge the Twisted Metal game unfairly. Lucid's name may be sorta tainted now.

And yeah seems like the game must be decent enough or else Sony would have just canned it.

Good point. I don't really understand the whole business side of things, but I'd guess it's easier to just manage one studio. Competing with each other for local talent is pretty awkward too

Man, as long as its worth the wait. Give us something more like Twisted Metal Black in gameplay and vibe. Rather than Twisted Metal on PS3. Please.

Yeah I don't think Sony minds when its Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, and Insomniac all in LA. But for less important teams in Liverpool I do kinda doubt they'd want both. Especially since Firesprite is 250-300 people.
