GamesBeat: Sony is pulling PS Now retail cards from U.K. retailers

From GamesBeat,

PlayStation Now is Sony’s cloud-streaming and game-subscription service. It hosts hundreds of games, but it currently stands apart from Sony’s other gaming subscription, PlayStation Plus.

But a recent report out of Bloomberg claims that Sony has plans to merge PS Now into PS Plus. The idea would be to make everything PS Plus while offering different tiers. The move to end PS Now subscription cards is potentially a step on the path to that eventual merging.

Everyone set their alarms for when we can start arguing that subscription services are good for the industry after all.
Then we can fast forward to how this service is dead in the water because there aren’t first party games day 1, meanwhile the other service is getting two first party games a year if that
I mean, game sub services and streaming were all agreed on mutually as a laughing stock... until one brand did both as well. Do we forget the pre-Game Pass and xCloud years?

If they add it to ps plus they suddenly surpass gamepass. This would be a good move, ps now is like $6 a month for the yearly. Make ps plus $64.99 and include ps now. Then do the premium thing for $69.99 a year and ur gootchi. If Nintendo can get away with $49.99 for that n64 service 👀.

Whatever they come up with, they should bring it to South America with decent regional pricing in local currency, same as MS does. As of now, PS now might as well be called NATO game streaming.

Tbh ps now is SEVERELY underrated. I was literally playing ps3 versions of SLY cooper and DMC4 with almost no lag all streamed. And all the FF games ps1 /ps2 era launched as download and stream it’s a good deal imo. They have good games it’s just not marketed well. Adding ps1 classics, and psp/vita stuff and relaunching would be huge. They should do a mobile PS official controller for iOS and Android and launch ps now on mobile .

What is it going to be called? For reference we have seen: PS+. PSVue. PSNow. PSN.

My guess is .... PS Game Now.

Runner up:
PS Premium
PS Lifer Card
PS Instant

PS Multiplied
Play Pass
PlayStatioN(OW)

Writing seems to be on the wall. I'm just hoping the cost of existing multiplayer stays the same (or goes down), and the base PS+ monthly games stay fair (some crap, some gems).

I could have sworn my psnow subscription was still valid until summer 2022, but when I log in I have to resubscribe.

I have thought for a while now that the PSnow brand will be terminated and PS+ will be tierd.

Ps+ - same as it it is now

PS+ pro - cloud and games included $12.99/month, wont have day one games like gamepass, but you get 40% off new titles.

Can't believe you're getting bites for this and people are trying to correct you.. as if it matters whether it's one, two, three or more first party titles.

If you're happy with the service you're getting isn't that what matters :pie_eyeroll: Pretty sad stuff.

edit: But to be fair looks like it's derailed now anyway.

Don't get what's going on this thread. Seeing this thread descend into these kind of posts is utterly predictable.

I can’t wait until they announce backwards compatibility, via streaming, behind a paywall, and for fanboys to praise them.

Gears Tactics, Flight Sim, Psychonauts 2, Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5 since launch of Series consoles.

Maths obviously not your strong point.

Be interested to actually hear what people (and not trolls) expect to see from a new look service. If that's even the plan.

The GP discount is only 20% and only kicks in after the game has been on the service for 90 days.

No way are they going to be giving people nearly 50% off a new release game when that's when the bulk of development costs are recouped.

The discount on gamepass is 100%.
Im sorry I should of stated I was talking about exclusive content.
