Also the English guy sounded so stupid.

I'm English and i hate when English accents are used in the most bizzare settings

Bleh Episode 3 sucked. Boba Fett picking up a Vespa punk gang was pretty lame.

Also, when the fuck is he going to start killing people or doing much of anything? So far we've only seen him kick that swoop gangs ass and....thats about it? Isnt this series only 6 episodes long?

I was fine with the first two episodes but now it feels like they are treading water since this episode didnt really move the dial in any meaningful sense.

Episode three was a doozy. Underwhelmed with the special effects. They really cut corners here. Not sure how I feel about this latest addition to his crew. I like how their whole aesthetic seems to be a nod to George Lucas's early years as a huge Californian hipster petrol head.

I think the story is finally going someplace though I think I already have things figured out.
I thought that too about the effects. It’s weird cuz him standing there in his armor POPS in 4k hdr (I know it’s not special effects). And then the next scene some poor cgi

I think accents work when they are used intelligently to enhance world building rather than just throwing them around willy nilly. So for example high level Imperial or Alliance Officers, mostly drawn from the core worlds, might have a "queens english" accent, while fringe world or rebel type characters could have american accents. Mandalorians ought to all sound kinda alike, etc. Obviously actors are wide ranging as to their ability to fake accents but hey, that's what casting is supposed to be for, right? These days this stuff is just swept under the rug and audiences are shamed into accepting any accent, any color, any gender, any age as being acceptable in any context yet actors are also supposed to match their characters in certain traits. Fucking ridiculous.

Just saw EP2 last night. Eh....I'm not sure I needed a coming of age story of 40+ year old Boba Fett. Granted, I wasn't a huge Boba Fett fan from the original trilogy, but this show feels like it's absolutely murdering his character and making him look like an inept moron. Him talking and doing sign language to the Tusken Raiders was one of these moments for me.

"A gift....for me???" *lizard crawls into brain*

Fucks sake.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but why would they make a Boba Fett spinoff and make him the least Boba Fett character that they can get away with? That whole Tusken Raider arc should have just been an abbreviated 5-10 mins flashback, not 1.5 episodes. He doesn't even seem to have gained anything from them except his stick.

I bet the rainbow bikers look a lot cooler in the concept art. The concept art for this show always outshines the actual sets.

And maybe that's true for most projects, since you have more control over the lighting & other elements when making concept art, but still, it feels like the show can't keep up with it.

Disney going through some sorta turn baddies into good guys phase: Melina from Black Widow, Cruella, Wanda, Karli(F&W), Loki, Echo and now Fett.

I guess we should have seen the writing on the wall when they renamed the Slave I for all the toys. Bad guys cannot exist in Disney anymore.

My GF made me watch "Encanto" the other night, and there wasn't even a villain/antagonist in the movie at all.

If a story works without a villain it works without a villain. And Encanto was brilliant.

I have never watched a more incompetent protagonist.
He is supposed to be bad ass (at least it looks that way in previous SW) and he looks like an incompetent do-gooder.
I know it's a Disney series but still....

Loooool. That looks ridiculous.

Looks like they're going for a Mods or Quadrophenia look, but it just looks so out of place in the Star Wars Universe.
I mean it is Disney so the fact that it looks like the old main street electrical parade updated to include Star Wars makes sense?

Ok wtf was that chase scene? Was I missing some sort of homage or reference where it might look that shitty on purpose or was that just the best they could do? And yes I've seen American Graffiti

Ooph, the action in ep3 was TERRIBLE. How do you simultaneously A. make a WOOKIE a chump fight but B. make the folks who beat a wookie ALSO chumps? And that speeder chase, WTF? Either Rodriquez is just biting off more than he has the budget to chew or it was a deliberate choice and it was WRONG WRONG WRONG. Bad enough that the rainbow gang just look ridiculous, but having the chase edited so poorly was icing on the cake. Bryce Howard (doing ep4 and I have high expectations) and this Steph Green lady (did ep2) are 10x the Star Wars TV director Rodriguez is, I hope he isn't doing any more eps. Filoni isn't great at directing either, but I hope he is still learning his live action chops if he does an ep for this show.

There is a fundamental problem with the structure of the show. Either it really has no purpose or they are holding on to their cards for WAAAAY too long. Fett seems totally disinterested in being a damiyo, clearly has spent significant time in the mando eps being away from this bacta tank/revenge(?) nonsense so why is it so all consuming now? I'm assuming he is doing the "work my way up the totem pole to the head of the snake" as payback for the sand people massacre but sheesh, why so sloppy? This could have been the Punisher of Star Wars, but instead we are getting a very sloppy Godfather pastiche.

Rodriguez has never been a good director. Don't know why this surprises people. He's shtick is quick gurellia film making. So I imagine he's bringing this nicely on budget.

It was a reskinned Moana. Even the songs were the same. It was shit.

Something tells me you haven't watched both films. They are totally different.
Moana is about Moana looking for the demogod Maui to stop the blight "infestation".
Encanto is a heavily family orientated plot, about their relationships together and trying to solve the future vision that Mirabel has seen.

Well, I finally saw episode 3. So yeah, that happened. Looking forward to Bobba getting beat up by Care Bears next week. I imagine that’s where this is leading.

The whole show is terribly written. Why is Fett so nice? Why does he want to be a crime lord? What's the goal? He doesn't need money, there's no sex because this is modern Star Wars, does he give a shit what other people think of him?

There is something missing at the core of this series and in its execution. The stupid scooter gang might be the final straw for me. Fett would've killed one of them to make an example then hired the others. You can't be a crime lord without being bad. The only thing I can think is they covered a lot of the stuff they would've done with Fett with the Mandalorian character, so they've had to make him different so the shows aren't so similar.

Heard a rumor that Disney wants some sort of Avenger's ensemble in SW where a group of "iconic" good guys fight off a big threat.

Totally agree.

They had an opportunity to make it badass and they decided to phone it in instead. They should’ve leaned into the whole scum and villainy thing.

I loved the bustling energy of Jabba’s palace in RotJ but here it’s empty. I get why it may be empty in this story but they didn’t need to choose that direction.

I’ll keep watching as it’s “okay” but it’s only as good as a B grade Mandalorian episode so far.

So I’m guessing the Black Sun is going to be the syndicate that’s moving into Tatooine and Darth Maul’s going to be making an appearance.

This show has failed my two big tests for any new show:

1) Wil l be embarrassed to be watching it if my special lady comes in during the show? She came in during the part in the pilot where he's fighting the people with engergy shields. Someone on Twitter accurately said it was straight out of a low budget Mortal Kombat movie. Failed.

2) Will I fall asleep? I fell asleep during episode 2. Failed.

The actor playing Fett is too old and don't buy that Fett would ever be content to just sit in a chair all day in one place for an extended period. I liked the Mandalorian but this is not good.

I'm on the fence regarding Boo Boo Foot.

So, I really like Temuera Morrison. He is absolutely perfect as Boba Fett. He is everything I imagined Boba Fett looked like.

I do not like the flashbacks or Tusken stuff except for the train fight which was awesome.

The biker gang is kinda cringe. I don't have an issue with shiny and colorful bikes considering the prequel is full of sleek and colorful vehicles but it does look out of place on Tatooine.

Why did the wookie run after Boba released him? That looked so bad for such a badass character. Also Boba Fett being tossed out of his Bacta tank in his skivvies. And then he puts on a bath robe like he's ready for his morning coffee.

There's some really weird design decisions here.

As far as SFX goes, it isn't THAT bad for a series. In face, I watched this right before The Eternals and somehow, Boba Fett has better effects than that movie. It really shows ILM cares or at least cares about Star Wars in that department.

At the end of the day, I'm giving this show a chance to grow. It can either get better or worse but I'm a Star Wars fan since the late 70s and grew up owning a lot of the Kenner toys and very fond memories. It's still my favorite science fiction movie franchise.

Edit: Drash is hot.

Edit #2: I also like Mayor McHammerhead. I like the way he looks for some reason.

Episode 4 consists of the real Boba Fett showing up and blasting this impersonator Fett from behind, followed by a badass one-liner (key word: one), that chuckles along with the audience. - “No security?”

The Fett we’ve been following is obviously a clone. A lesser cousin. A cheap impersonation.

I'm joking, but that is what I would like to see. I'd turn this whole thing on it's head.

It would be a "gotcha!" on the audience, but in a satisfying way - "Ha! We knew that wasn't Boba Fett! Boba Fett doesn't caress alien guard dogs after knocking them out!"
Plus, I like that the title character shows up four episodes in, fashionably late, in badass fashion.
Welcome to Boba's show, hope you've made yourselves comfortable.

For all I care, it was Boba that raided the Tuskan camp. He's been around the whole time.

I'm pretty cynical, but even I didn't see Disney turning Boba into the head of an NGO promoting relief programs for the inhabitants of Tatooine.

I have not watched the show as I have no interest in shitting on my opinion of Boba Fett.
I was with friends last night, and my one friend that does watch the show made me watch a clip. Sorry if this is out of context as I have not seen the show or know the characters, but it was essentially four zany teens on very colorful scooters - like the kind people roll around on at the grocery store - chasing, I believe, the guy who played Abed on Community in a landspeeder. The scene was comically bad. It looked cheap as hell, they never got about 13 miles per hour, and they hit every single galactic fruit stand and nearly sideswiped a half dozen callback characters.
I could not believe what I was seeing. It looked like an SNL spoof of Power Rangers done in 1994.

The ONLY reason for this I imagine is to sell tons of colorful toys/merchandise to 8-12 year olds

You missed the best part. The scene where Bubba Fat got raped by a wookie

Just saw the latest episode and I hate his biker gang kids with a burning passion. They look so stupid and out of place. That slow speed chase at the end was corny as fuck. And why is Boba Fett so goddamn nice all the time?? Whats going on where are my disintegrations??

There are some cool moments... the Rancor has promise, Danny Trejo as the Rancor master was cool, the Wookie is cool, the idea of Boba Fett being a crime boss is still cool... but overall goddamn this has this air of constant cheese around it all.

Hoping it gets better soon :(

Fuck makes me a little nervous for the Obi-Wan series. That has me all kinds of hyped but I hope its being held to a higher standard... this shit's just cheesy right now.

Obi-Wan series was originally a movie (that they expanded) and it's directed by Deborah Chow, who was one of the better directors on Mando S1. She did episode 3 where he takes Grogu to the Client and then 7 with Moff Gideon.
