Is that SF2/SFV comparison just between The World Warrior (OG SF2) and SFV, or is it taking into account Turbo and SSF2? Given the ongoing support and DLC for SFV, that seems like kind of an apples and oranges comparison.

Monster Hunter World selling as many units in it's 16th quarter on the market as Monster Hunter Rise sells in it's 4th quarter.

The legs on MHW.

Only includes SF2 World Warrior for SNES. SF2 Turbo and SSF2 did count as different games for Capcom in this list.

In SFV these updates instead of being sold as separate games have been replaced by a mixture of free updates, paid dlc that can be unlocked and paid only dlc. The SFV revenue from DLC/MTX/season pass must be insane.

The DLC/season passes are ultimately a great deal, at least for a sucker like me who uses to buy each new version of the game. Pay $50 for 4 new characters and some tweaks to others and maybe new levels or $20 to download 5 new characters and levels? Makes sense to me.

I think I spent $200-$300 on SFV, I got all the season passes (I think one of them getting the Champion Edition upgrade to get all the costumes, colors, etc), all the CPT dlcs and the OST dlcs (before the CE update). And looking at the online, with many people playing with DLC characters, stage or costumes, I assume many other people will have spent a good chunk of money too. In fact, every month/two months after the release of a new character, that character typically was top 1 or top in the character usage rankings.

In fact, the fiscal year recap document of the FY where Monster Hunter World was released and became the best selling Capcom game ever, the cover story wasn't MHW. It was the comeback they did with Street Fighter V Arcade Edition. And back then the sales still weren't stellar, so it's fair to assume that the amount of revenue from non game sales must had be insane.
