Any chance this will be backwards compatible?
Nothing particular yet. I don't think there are problems to actually run games, but translating controls from DS4, PSMoves and external camera tracking to the new Sense controlers could be a much more difficult task.

You know, the more I keep seeing the words "experience" for how they're describing Call of the Mountain, I keep thinking this may be the free showcase that'll come included with the headset. If it's not actually a game and just something to show off the graphics tech, it keeps making me wonder. Probably wrong though

Very premium specs and controllers, I expect the headset to also look very premium, With such a spec why do people think it's going to be $299 rofl this shits gonna be $499 minimum.

put all the ''concerns'' to rest
I was one concerned about the lack of definition around that in the last info drop and website wording at the time. Sony just headshot that concern and im excited to see this in action. I feel like maybe you can thank us for the clarification though, maybe without bitches like me questioning it Sony wouldn't have felt the need to essentially tell us to sit the fuck down and shut up. ;)

If it's BC, I'll pay whatever premium they set. Otherwise, they can fuck off until I platinum my 89 remaining PSVR1 games

Price doesnt better. There wont be enough PS5s out there anyway.

Sell it for 100 extra the first year and make it usable for PC/PS4 with a “link box”. Year after remove the link box and lower the price by 100$.

It just looks sad.
Think about it for a while, maybe look over your posts. There’s a lot more to life than gaming, don’t let it consume you.

Says the guy complaining about somone who says something bad about a gaming company he really likes.

You should really follow your own advice.

.......

Also, please explain to me what "looks sad" about my posts.

How much is the Index with controllers? It’s going to cost the same I bet.

I’m getting too old for that.
Review your posts, I’m sure you know what I mean. As Kratos would say. Don’t be sorry, be better!

god hope not.
The index is 1200usd.... It was always too expensive and not worth it seeing how faulty it is.
400-500 is the max any vr should cost. It's just an accessory

I cant be bothered to figure out who started this but both of you just start ignoring each other, put each other on the formal ignore list. Either way simmer down please.

I can't stop saying this, I'm so excited to play one. Skipped the first PSVR because, quite frankly, always thought it wasn't good enough (and I played a little with my brother's Occulus, so I got my fix for VR a little bit ☺️).

But now, take a look at this thing! Awesome specs, foveated rendering (this could be huge in terms of performance and graphics improv), state of the art controller. Just saw that Sony also opened the PSVR2 page in my language, which means - imo - it will also be officially released here and soon. Yay!

Its still a wait and see for me. Theres been no killer app in VR for me. I wonder if sony will have test centres throughout countries so can people can try it out, probably not though because of covid.
I dunno M8 for PSVR we had Astrobot which was an incredible game, Moss which was simply magical and over on PC you had Alyx which is meant to be astounding not to mention plenty of other worthwhile games, lost hours playing Tetris ffs

Also, RE7. One of my most memorable gaming experiences ever

Thumper in VR is a game changer as well. It was the only way for me to finish the game. You’re just quicker at reacting.

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
After chasing vr and using the best out there just can’t care any more. Games haven’t gotten better and the novelty has long over stayed it’s welcome.

I really dislike how the word "experience" has been overused and distorted by the media to make it sound like they're not real games. The only time you hear the word "experience" in regular games is to make them feel grander and more epic, but for VR games it's the opposite? What gives?

Aye we all have one but it was in response to your "no killer app" comment and I listed 2 considered by all who've played them to be VR's killer app, I also missed out RE7 which is insanely atmospheric in VR and downright scary as shit, I mean what do you consider a Killer app?

You're missing an important part of my post. i said "Theres been no killer app in VR for me" which means there has been no game on VR which has caused me to go out and buy one.

I have RE7 and a PSVR (was given to me) and I find it to low fedelity and poor movement systems to be enjoyable. I played it on a TV instead.

I obviously see the financial and comfort benefits of cameras for tracking but for me nothing beats lighthouse. Sad that no headsets offer such things as add-ons for better tracking etc.

I'm amazed on how much tech cab be put in on "budget" console vr headsets. Imagine what another 800$ headset could cram in in tech. By the time PSVR3 releases and quest 3 etc, VR might finally be ready to enter mainstream.

It's USB-C so even if they don't, someone will release a driver for it.
Linux doesn't have working drivers for the 2016 CV1 yet.

If it was PC compatible that would be a much better buy since it won't be a complete waste if it doesn't get as much support.
