Take-Two says it’s ‘exceedingly confident’ about the quality of upcoming GTA games following Trilogy issues

Given the game’s troubled launch, Take-Two was asked during its third quarter earnings call on Monday whether it had made any changes to its quality assurance processes to avoid repeat situations with future series entries, such as March’s GTA V for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and the recently confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6.

“Yes, we are totally focused on quality here and we always want to deliver the best possible experience,” CEO Strauss Zelnick responded.

“Very occasionally we fall short, and I think the trilogy was an example of that, and the title was launched with some issues. We’ve addressed many of them, there are more fixes to come.

“Going forward, we remain highly focused on quality, and we are exceedingly confident in all of our upcoming releases.”

Zelnick later added: “We’ve had precious few quality lapses at this company so any time that we’ve fallen short from a quality point of view it has been an isolated case and we aim to keep It that way.”

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
Well yeah, Grove Street Games isn't gonna be touching VI.

How is the remastered trilogy looking today? Actually worth playing yet or no?

Well, yeah, I'd be exceedingly confident about the quality of upcoming GTA games too if I knew that I could still make a shitload of money off of a messed up, rushed release of Trilogy and only lose so much steam off of the franchise's heat. I mean, I want the next game to be real, real good, but it turns out, the machine only needs to be so well-oiled in order to print money, so...

Hopefully Grove Street Games develops all future GTA games. They wouldn't just call themselves Grove Street Games unless they were true GTA enthusiasts who know what they're doing.

Hopefully they have deep enough pockets and enough time has passed that they can avoid crunch while maintaining quality.

What do you expect them to say?

We're more interested in launching the title and we can fix the minor issues with updates. The games playable. Now may I direct your attention to sales and revenue.

It's GTA. It's going to sell.

Report me if I continue to console war
No doubt GTA6 will be great.

But, if the PS5/XSX version of GTA5 is just 4k/60ish with better textures and ray tracing, its pretty disappointing. You can only do so much to a 360/ps3 game before replacing the assets and tech.

If you want to play ugly ps2 remasters at middling resolution and sub 60fps, sure go ahead.

"guys the GTA6 won't be a mobile port because we haven't released one yet"

How nice of you Rockstar.

They'll be fine. We all laugh about GTA: Definitive Trilogy, but Rockstar have made some excellent polished products in the past. Granted most of the people who worked on them are long gone, but I still believe the studio will get their act together after the latest shitshow.

Represent.

Thre should b no doubt. They made GTA V and RDR 2. They know quality. Trilogy was a one off. Can be overlooked.

The $60 definitive edition was dogshit but shows what they think about their legacy or fans.

The top people behind the series are gone and GTA Online became the focus with all the money it makes. They didn’t do shit with solo stuff or expansions. They let RDR2 Online rot because they couldn’t sell all the dumbass gta shit you buy with money in the western setting.

This smells like stock investor-dog whistling.
Reports about development hell, 3 top dogs leaving the company, going from 3 titles pr generation to 1 every other generation, downplaying remaster issues, leaving sp in a ditch in favor of gaas crap..

GTA VI is going to be 2077 all over again.

"We could literally shit in a game case and slap the GTA VI logo on it and sell millions for that one quarter before consumers realize they have been duped yet again." - Confidence.

I don't doubt the headline. R* are capable of doing great work as they have a history of. Them hiring out a seemingly automated remaster doesn't change that. Until they release a string of bad products themselves, I will continue to believe they will release a quality product when it comes to complete projects done in house.

It is simple guys, just don't pre-order. Wait for the reviews. If they burn you, make them earn your trust back.

It wasn't their fault. They don't get to decide when a game launches, the publisher does. They were probably told "November 11th, ready or not." I feel bad for all the shit they received when the game came out.
