He always has been.

Looking back at my history, he's always been shitposting...A fine new addition to my ignore list...Most of them have been banned and I expect that trend to continue with him.

If you think the punchier colors, additional light sources were not done because sony knows it would make a better intial first impression then you're being naive.
If you have no problem with this practice thats fine, we will just have to agree to disagree.

If they show starfield with more light sources and less Gi in the first gameplay reveal compared to the retail version I will be unhappy with that too.
Less GI? haha you know nothing. The lighting changed, assets were moved around that's all. They are allowed to make changes. Thats their choice if you don't like their artistic vision oh well. You guys want early showcases on games. things change between the showcase and launch. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. Such a petty argument.

Well, do you have any evidence to support your claim?

Because the video shows the better Gi the youtuber is talking about.

Hey A azertydu91 you seem awfully preoccupied with a poster you have on ignore😆

The droplet of his knowledge is vainly trying to fill the ocean he is painfully trying to say.

Don't need any. I have eyes. And common sense. Your confusing GI with lighting changes and color grading. The Hero lights were to strong in the demo so they toned them down so she blends with the BG. Its just not as bright as it was before, that's art direction. If you want it back switch your tv to settings brightness and contrast to 100 then switch to VIVID/TORCH mode.

Well there's the difference, but don't worry I can feel the goalpost moving already, after all he is the founder of console war if I remember correctly.Don't bother with lost causes, there are actually interesting people to debate with here.I know a lot of them that are relevant and bring interesting points even when we disagree...

vertical slice yada-yada...

don't have the game so i can't say if it's something on par with what's in the final game, but that demo definitely looked way too scripted for an open word game...that kind of scripting you can do when you know where the player is going ansd what it's gonna do, something impossible to predict in a genre where you can go where you want

still a shitty thing to do.

......... nearly all showcase demos have scripted segments. they can't take the chance on it fucking up. Have you tried to do something in a game and took you dying a few times to pull it off? Or trying to get a perfect run on a level, It takes few times. Well nobody wants to watch you die 100 times, they want to see the perfect run . Thats what these showcases/vertical slices are, the perfect run with in the allotted time for the segment to show off key features in a game. With those parameters there's no other way to do it.

Downgrade implies technical downgrade what you’re talking about artistic design change then and again I’ll argue there are lots of locations in the game that looks just as good or even better.

artistic choice don't look as good to me, how about that

It's pre recorded footage, not a live demo, you can definitely record a good run without deaths and showcase it without scripting.

They did it because it's a good commercial for the game, giving the idea (true or not I don't know since I don't have the game), that missions will always be this kind of rollercoaster, while showcasingnthe game best elements all in one.

All they needed to do was just point this out before the showing 'ehi, this is not a real part of the game, but it will look like this and the gameplay is there'

But anyway, people that bought the game don't seem to mind, yet personally I hate this kind of behavior, but I also grew up in another Era of videogames where vertical slices were not a thing, but we did have bullshit lol.

Doesn’t matter whether it’s live demo or not they are all made the same way for various reasons. Sometimes these demos/slices barley run (I don’t think that’s the case for Horizon) Just enough for the capture or live play. It’s not as optimized as final code. I’ve worked on demos that if the camera was rotated to the right at a section of the BG would drop out. Last minute bug, the solution don’t rotate the camera in that section. These things can be fragile .I came up in NES era and games today are 100s of times more complicated with 1000s more animations 1000s of variations of outcomes which is why some things are scripted . Devs neeed accuracy for these so they don’t have to record it 100s time to get the right play thru. We simply don’t have time for that.
