GameStop has confirmed plans to hold a PlayStation 5 in-store sale event this Friday, March 11.

The event will mark GameStop’s first in-store PS5 restock for 43 days, the last one having occurred on January 27.

“Visit your local GameStop for a chance to get one in person,” the retailer said. “Must be a PowerUp Rewards Pro Member, quantities will be limited.”

According to internal memos leaked to tech site The Shortcut, the PS5 bundle available at GameStop on Friday will be priced at $795.

It will include the standard console, Gran Turismo 7 25th Anniversary Edition, Horizon: Forbidden West Limited Edition, a DualSense charging station made by PowerA, a blue PS4 HyperX Cloud headset, and a $50 PlayStation Store gift card.

It’s claimed that on average, just four to eight PS5 consoles are expected to be available at each participating GameStop store, but the number of stores taking part is said to be larger than was the case with previous restocks.

GameStop made two PS5 Digital Edition console bundles available to purchase online on Tuesday, priced at $659 and $669, which were also reserved for GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro members.

Starting at $14.99, membership includes loyalty rewards, extra trade in credit, a Game Informer subscription, plus access to exclusive offers and events

That is the least worry. The bundle is $795, while the digital is $659 and $669. Who the F is gonna pay for that. I would rather wait for the cheap one to drop.
Pretty much anyone trying to get one. It's actually not a horrible bundle, but there are a couple trash tier "get a ps5 taxes". If they are going to require a charger / headset, at least make them the the first party ones (or allow upgrades to them).

I would have liked less bundle. I am desperate for 1 right now. Cant touch my little brother ps5. That guy will eat me alive.
There was one for sale, but they couldnt deliver it for my address.

Your best bet for non-bundle is stock tracker alerts, and fast fingers / pre-made retailer accounts for fast check out. Depending on where you live / if you are a night owl, it doesn't hurt to check Amazon about 1201 AM pacific time either. But the first option is far better, and how my wife got them for everyone in our house plus her friends' kids. It's one of the instances where I find twitter useful.

That is my only choice. Been sniffing around, but no luck. They will have some during the spring. I should be on high alert.

People who don't want to pay a scalper $900 for nothing but the base console.

The only thing I would find useless in that bundle is the headset. It’s really not bad.

The bundle itself is a great deal for people wanting to avoid the scalper upcharges. But the 3rd party charger is pretty bad IMO. The first party charger is charging station perfection.

Yeah it’s not perfect but for a bundle you can’t substitute for it’s good enough. You’re getting 2 brand new exclusives and a $50 card. Most people will get use out of at least one of the 2 headset/dock

I had an extra PS5 from best buy due to being on their Total Tech membership. If i knew i would have sold it to you. Ended up selling it last year. Best buy saves PS5's for total tech members. But its like $200 a year.

I hope you can get one soon.

If someone happens to want those games other then the cheap charger this really isnt a bad bundle imo

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
I bought mine straight from Sony. Sign up and get the notifications.

Yeah anyone who wants one, the best place to check is Wario's twitter or those sign up alerts.

They've been putting those out more frequently than ever before.

I can't, in good consciousness, recommend people pay $649 for a $399 console just because they bundled in some extra stuff you may or may not want in the first place.

I saw a line outside when approaching Rite Aid (Long Island). Looks like they're selling quite a bit from what I heard.

It's amazing to me that people don't want to spend a bit more to get something that will last them 7+ years. If they truly want one.

We're in a time where the unfortunate circumstances of the pandemic has made getting one hard. A $200 markup (a bundle at that) year 2 in the lifecycle isn't all that bad. Unless you don't have a job I guess.
