I'm disappointed in the lack of Dualsense features in Elden Ring

They failed to implement good framerate features, not much hope for DualSense features.

But yeah would have been cool to see what they would have done.

Xbox consoles will have similar features in future and then it will be the greatest thing ever. Those threads are coming lol

Its easy to see right through the BS warring of most here in this thread haha.
I’d rather have good build quality, long battery life and durability than a shitty speaker and triggers that are just more annoying to press.

They can go haptic feedback themselves with this stuff honestly.

I really like the haptics but must be honest, I often stop even noticing them during a game. When that happens all they are achieving is increased battery drain.

No, I just think its a waste of time. Resolving around a gimmick won't matter, people gonna play the game for its own merits, regardless of a function of a controller.

If you guys got a problem just send directly complains to them. No need to get touchy just because I think it's a waste of time, in no point I'm here trying to prove or disprove anything. Players gonna survive without it.
I was merely pointing out that your logic was flawed. I don't care what you actually think about the DualSense features..

Yeah mate a lot of people, just like a lot of people also like it. Unless you think it’s just me and like 3 other people in the world who have disabled the haptics? :messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy:
I do not know how many have disabled haptics and dynamic triggers, or just haptics, or just triggers… or neither… so I am not generalising ;).

Maybe there is dozens of you…

The amount of people in this thread that consider the Dualsense tech to be no more than a gimmick is more disappointing than its exclusion in ER. Opinions are opinions but man, I had no idea so many people didn’t care for it. Huh.

If a platform has a feature and you dont cater for it as a dev, then that's a wasted opportunity, imo.

For example, if there was a game that took ages to load despite being on a platform that has an SSD - that would be a wasted opportunity.

In the same way, them not implementing these extras on the dualsense is a wasted opportunity.

And yes, it's an extra, but having the dualsense doing viby, locky things DOES add to the immersion (except in competitive FPS. Then i turn off the adaptive triggers)

Half of the people calling it a gimmick probably never experienced using a dualsense controller.

I would bet it's more people who enjoy the Dualsense features then not.

I bet itll come with some sort of ps5 patch that fixes other issues as well. It doesnt seem like an oversight, just not up there on their list of priorities. Hopefully it wont take too long though, dualsense features could be great in a game like elden ring.

It would have been nice to have, to be sure. Although no everyone is sold on those features, having them available as an option to turn on or off would have been good for both camps involved. Perhaps it's a byproduct of a cross-generation that keeps dragging on and on endlessly.

Sad if true, it’s a game changer. In From software’s defense, I don’t expect devs to bother for multiplats. We’ll see heavy Third party implementation when MS adds it to their controller, their version could be even more impressive.

You should have told me sooner so I wouldn't waste my time answering the likes of you. Go point your logic to somebody else.

Believe that if you want, it’s not like it’s impossible to try it after a year the console has been out.

I thought it was 100% pointless in HFW for example.

It vibrates with music and ambience. I have not noticed anything on the triggers yet. Not sure if that is game specific or learns from vibration AI.

everyone wins!!!!!!!!
except the triggered xbox fanboys who can't accept the normal boring rumble their controller has (and also can't accept the lack of gyro their controller has)
Fuck gyro, no normal person can aim that way. Haptics are nice, but not a game changer.

In threads like this it’s hard to tell if certain posters realize Elden Ring isn’t a PS5 exclusive. demon souls was exclusive (and made by a different developer) so of course it incorporated the feature, but why would they spend that time on features that wouldn’t work on pc or xbox? (or ps4, for that matter?)

It's more third party games that support dualsense features then don't . That's why their absence from Elden ring is notable

The haptics is pretty damn good thus far, especially with the giants, they slightly vibrate when they are a distance away then vibrate a lot more when you are close.

The haptics of the DS, when done decent to well, are great, and I feel add to the experience. When devs leave them out, it makes the game seem less special. When jumping from Gran Turismo to Elden Ring, as I have been for a week now, it’s always the first thing I notice, other than the shitty frame rate and underwhelming presentation (of ER). I like both games, both games are cross-gen, but there is a difference in perception with games that take advantage of a hardware’s features and game that don’t.

I enjoy the game a lot but its not PS5 worthy at this point. No haptics, 3D audio and the framerate shouldn't be what it is now (the PS4 app runs better). I think even the load times could've been better.

Thing is friend, build quality and durability has been pretty bad since the XONE era with the Bumper buttons falling off/breaking, triggers getting stuck, A,Y buttons not registering, trigger rumble motors not working properly (resulting in an annoying buzz when they activate) etc -the Elite controller, a 170/180€/$ product mind you doesn't fare any better either with pretty much the same problems as the normal ones.
There have been countless posts about, be it here/other forums and on reddit, also, the class-action lawsuit that MS dodged (they settled IIRC 1-2 years ago about the Elite series).

I get what you're trying to say but...the build quality is not one of the +'s of the xbox joypads - and i say that as a member of the green rat family ;)
Agreed on the long battery life (which solely depends on the capacity of the type of rechargeable you choose to use).

I do like the haptics although I'd hardly call them a game changer as I only tend to notice them a handful of times. When you do notice them it's clear they are better than the competition. I still think Astros is the best example though of the stuff I've played.

I think the triggers and the speaker are crap. They both feel so cheap and if you don't have headphones on you hear the triggers constantly clicking as the motors turn on or the super low quality speaker crackling like a chav playing music too loud on his mobile phone speaker.

I've obviously not played every PS5 games but these are the ones I have played that I remember having support for the triggers:
Ratchet and Clank
Ghost of Tshusima DC
Horizon FW
AC Valhalla
SM remastered
SM Miles Morales
Bugsnax
Control Ultimate Edition
RE Village
GTA 5
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Borderlands 3

These are the games where I haven't disabled the triggers:
Ratchet and Clank - and this is not because it is a game changing experience but it makes it easy to alt fire - paddles like the Elite controller would be just as good imo.

I always feel like I'm in the fable the Emperor's New Clothes when I see people going crazy for the triggers and people are just agreeing they are great as they don't want to look stupid but everyone is different I guess.

I'm in the half that own a PS5 and I think it's a gimmick. The only game that really highlights them is Astrobot, which is a pack in game that is basically all about showing off your shiny new console. Other than that they get turned off or turned down.

Demon's Souls, which the OP mentions as being amazing, is actually terrible implementation. Nothing like playing a game where every hit can mean your death and the fucking bow decides it will be "realistic" whenever it feels like it and randomly won't fire.

Frankly, I'd much rather have a decent battery life than haptics. And while we are at it they can get rid of the stupid lights as well.

Lol ppl consider this a game changer? Game changer is Gsync, dlss, ultrawide, 244hz, VR....it's a nice feature but one that most ppl stop noticing after playing half way through a game.
It is extremely bizzare to see, isn't?

Like other people said, a much better battery life and something actually useful like back buttons would make the ds5 a much better controller.

Maybe on ps6...
