Grand Theft Auto 5 PS5 Version Gameplay - Peformance RT

So apart from visual fidelity and 60fps what is the "expanded" part of the game that was initially advertised back in the 2020 showcase trailer?

Gotta say, been playing the PS5 version on Performance RT mode and the haptics are great and sometimes the game does look quite stunning with the HDR and depth of field implementation. Not bad, not bad at all....

Guess they were talking about Rockstar money storage for expanded.

What a joke they became. After nine fucking years not even one new mission or new songs for the radio sations. Just pathetic.
You think they’d at least add the new radio stations from online to single player, but nope. I knew they wouldn’t add vehicles because a lot of them would break the missions. But why not the radio stations, Rockstar is so shit now.

Even worse with RDR2. Not a single meaningful online update in over a year, and the last couple were pure shit.

A game that goes to sell almost 50 million, and gets zero support. They are a shell of what they used to be.

Fidelity: 2160p at 30fps
Performance: 1440p at 60fps
RT Performance: Dynamic 1440p at 60fps

- The PS5 version has slightly improved all settings, staying very close to the PC version in Ultra (and even improving it in some aspects such as lighting).
- The most noticeable changes compared to the PS4 version are in the shadows, reflections and the drawing distance of the vegetation.
- PS5 may experience some graphical shadow bugs when changing display modes.
- Performance and Performance RT modes seem to use some sort of temporal reconstruction.
- Fidelity mode on PS5 features better shadows, reflections, depth of field over the other two modes.
- Ray Tracing seems to be present in the outer shadows in fidelity and RT Performance modes, but I'm not sure if it's really this technology.
- Load times are now 5x faster on PS5.

Played it for 2-3 hours today. It's definitely one of the least visually advanced games I've played on the PS5 so far, but it plays well I guess. Using the Performance mode. It's nice to have dedicated PS5 app for this, but this is a zero effort conversion. Glad they were able not to fuck it up like the remaster collection few months ago, but this is like a participation award this time.

From all the available RT options they choose shadows while Nvidia's PCSS, calculating light source distance onto the softness of shadows, are still pretty awesome in 2022? Global Illumination and bouncing light, and reflections is the real changer.

Also, do my eyes beguile me or do they STILL not fucking support 16x AF? Looks like 4x at most at times.

I'm really really really happy that I have bought it. GTA 5 next gen on the Xbox Series X looks incredible. Seriously YouTube doesn't do justice. It's so beautiful and sharp. Also don't listen to people that are judging this game from YouTube. It looks 20 times better in-game. One of the most beautiful HDR games I've seen so far.

HDR is incredibly well done especially at night.. agree.

It is and it's also razer sharp. I'm liking it. Will enjoy this game till GTA 6 gets released. But honestly, people that are reading this forum to get buyers insight, just don't listen to YouTube comments. Most people don't even own it. Judging from an compressed stream is ridiculous. It's worth the money.

I'd rather spend my money on the new Saints Row than supporting Recyclestar with 10 bucks.

Kinda hard to see the improvements once you've played this on PC for so long. The RT seems, subtle or I just don't have the eye for it. To be fair, I had a similar issue justifying RT in Cyberpunk. Especially with the framerate hit.

You'd think this game would run at 90-120 fps even with RT enabled for a game so old.

I think it looks quite nice too. As someone only playing the free online mode on ps5 I have nothing to complain about. It can be surprisingly immersive at times. I think most people complaining here haven't actually played it. sure, it's disappointing that it wasn't "expanded" as initially promised but taken as a next gen upgrade it's perfectly decent.

60fps really is a gamechanger. Last time I played GTA:V were in 2015 on PS4. Never completed it, cause it never felt good compared to the PS3 version, which I completed in 2013.

I'm not buying the story mode, but I'll be doing stupid stuff in online mode with friends.
If there's something GTA:O is good at - it's having "no-strings-attached" crazy stupid fun.

There is one thing that bothers me. I only see the GTA online logo when I want to start to play the game. In-game I can switch to SP. While I own both.

I know that was the case in rdr2 but where'd you hear that about this game
I am not talking about this game, I was talking about RDR2. Their prior HDR attempt.

Glad they fixed it, and if they ever did a "next gen" version of RDR2 ... lol hahahaa lmfaooo lol, whooo, lol... whoo... sorry, ... if they ever did a... lmfaooo hahahaha... damn it.

If they ever did the same for RDR2, it would be a good sign they would fix it. But I won't hold my breath they will even do a thing for a game that sold almost 50 million. That is too low of sales for Cheapstar to even bother.

I mean it looks pretty fucking good for a PS3 game. Might even pass for an early PS4 game now.

I remember this game struggling to run on both X360 and PS3 - "slowdown era"... going 20-30 fps!
it took time(after lounch) to fix the fps on PS4 as I remember... lots of patches to make it lock on 30fps

when released on PC, top graphic card could do 4k 60fps on streets area, but 30-40 on vegetation area!

Today I tried the PS5 version of GTA:O and this is it's best (30fps) RT mode:

What is this? No trees, no white car I parked there, wrong/no lights from the windows of the building in RT-reflection.
