2022 doesn't look to bad for games

nani17

are in a big trouble
After a sort of slow time, the gaming scene is kind of picking back up. Defeinilty got a few GOTY contenders. Yes these titles aren't out but people expect them to be big.

Big titles out
Elden Ring.
Horizon Forbidden West.
Dying Light 2
Gran Turismo 7

Games scheduled to come out in 2022
Ghostwire: Tokyo
Zelda Breath of the Wild 2
God of War Ragnarok
Hogwarts Legacy
Starfield
Saints Row
Forspoken
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl(on hold)
Gotham Knights
Sniper Elite 5
Xenoblade
Redfall
Monster Hunter Sunrise
call of duty modern warfare 2 with warzone 2.

So far the year isn't looking too bad for games. So which ones are you excited for and which ones do you expect to get the old-fashioned delay. If I forgot to mention a title sorry.

Add Redfall to the tentative 2022 titles.

And maybe, hopefully, possible Hellblade 2 ?!?

Agree OP. I am not even a huge fan of Harry Potter but it has definitely caught my interest. It looks really well made and seems to have spent a good amount of time in the oven.

Playing Horizon now and kind of working myself up to step into the Elden Ring... Will see about that one lol.

Hoping God of War blows my face off. I really want some epic boss fights.

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
As well as what's been mentioned:

Hollow Knight Silksong (PLEASE)
Mario + Rabbids 2
Two Point Campus
Sports Story?
Kerbal 2?
Stray
Weird West
3D Kirby
Scorn
Bayo 3?
Baldur's Gate 3? (no)

Said this last year, 2022 was going to be the best year for games since 2018.

The new Saints Row does not look appealing to me at all.

Just the loud art style and presentation style and characters they showed is extremely un-interesting.

2022 has been FANTASTIC for me. I’m enjoying crap out of Triangle Strategy and Elden Ring and still have tones of games to look forward including both AI Somnium Files nirvana and Xenoblade 3 which are my most hyped game this year.

Remove STALKER, add Redfall.

Looking forward to Gotham Knights, keeping expectations in check for Starfield. I don’t care for God of War and even more Forza games.

2022 basically robbed 2020 and 2021 and is now selling their games from a barbershop in a strip mall.

But 2023 is looking to rob the barbershop.

Only 4 games for me this year.

Horion FW (good) and Elden Ring (amazing) I already have and are going to have to get me through to the holidaY season. Hogwarts and Starfield I am going to get.

Kinda miss less time consuming AAA games though. Everything‘s so huge these days…

Depends on taste and interest, for me this year might as well be over now as Elden Ring is out, nothing else seems interesting to me. This may change if something cool gets announced for later this year.

Its been an awesome year so far, im splitting my time between tunic, gran turismo, horizon 2, and next gen cyberpunk and im loving all of them (gt’s scummy drm not withstanding) i feel like we havent had a q1 this great since 2017, and if anyone remembers how rad holiday 2017 was, then we are in for a great fourth quarter

Edit: fuck AND ELDEN RING!!! Just tells you how good we are eating right now that i forgot to mention it

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Elden Ring, Stranger of Paradise and Triangle Strategy already make 2022 a great year for me. Add that we still have to get Soul Hackers 2, Starfield, a new nuGow, a new Bayo and maybe even a new Zelda.

And we might even get the announcement for the best game ever made now and forever, which is Dragon's Dogma 2.

Good shit 2022, you nice.

Little Devil Inside

You forgot to include: gt7, Sifu, destiny 2 witch queen (it reviewed quite well despite my dislike of bungie)

About half of the ones I was interested in are out already eg Elden Ring and Stranger of Paradise FFO. I am looking forward to Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes, Bayonetta 3 & God of War Ragnarok.
Same here ...dying light 2, horizon 2, elden ring, and gt7 all in a month is crazy. Those were "maximum hype" type games for me. The only one of those that didn't live up to that hype is dying light 2, but not because it's a great game, because of the damn 1080p/60 fps which I find pathetic that ps5 can't pull off.

Then there was Cyberpunk's next gen upgrade and gta v re-releases. Cyberpunk next gen I was waiting so long for.

The only other "maximum hype" games on my radar are now Ragnarok, FF16, and Botw2. I don't believe Metroid Prime 4 is ever coming out. Would kill for a Wind Waker/twighlight princess hd port for Switch. Don't know why Nintendo doesn't want to release those.

If FF16 comes out this year you can add that to my list too but I don't think it will

I'll never understand when there's so many great looking games like in 2022 you still have people that say there's nothing that interests them

Been a great start so far. My post pandemic wallet is going to take a battering considering I'm on all 3 consoles and a PC.

Man, I agree, this year is a certified banger. Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West are two amazing tentpole games and they’ve been released within the first two months of the year.

I’m day one on Splatoon 3, Portal: Companion Collection and Klonoa Phantasy Reverie for my Switch. I’ll play A Plague Tale Requiem and Starfield on Game Pass, and Hogwarts Legacy on PS5. I’m 100% buying God of War Ragnorok, Breath of the Wild 2 if they don’t get delayed.

They’re all the ‘big’ games that I’m 100% getting.

On a smaller scale, there’s an indie 3D platformer called Hell Pie that looks fantastic and is slated for this year.

There’s also Clive ‘N’ Wrench, another 3D platformer.

Koa and the Five Pirates also looks pretty fun.
