PS5 and Xbox Series X in both Performance Mode and Performance RT Mode render at a native resolution of 2560x1440. PS5 and Xbox Series X seem to both use FSR 1.0 to upscale from 2560x1440 to 3840x2160.

Xbox Series S in Performance Mode renders at a native resolution of 1920x1080.

PS5 and Xbox Series X in Fidelity Mode render at a native resolution of 3840x2160.

Xbox Series S in Fidelity Mode renders at a native resolution of 2560x1440. Xbox Series S in Fidelity Mode seems to use FSR 10 to upscale from 2560x1440 to 3840x2160

. All three consoles in all modes render the UI at 3840x2160. PS5 and Xbox Series X in both Fidelity Mode and Performance RT Mode have Ray-Traced Sun Shadows. Xbox Series S doesn't have a mode with Ray-Traced Sun Shadows, but Series S does have improved shadow quality in Fidelity Mode compared to Performance Mode. Fidelity Mode on all three consoles has increased grass draw distance compared to Performance Mode.

99% locked, a lot of fuss over nothing as expected. Totally perfect with VRR, good performance on Series S too.

Funny thing is it's a 17 minute video and in less than 3 minutes you've already watched it, drew your conclusions and shared them here with us. All before the OP (that is, me) had the time to do any of these things. Amazing. And they say PS5's SDD is fast...

Frame rate results in all mode seem to be presented much better here than in the other discredited sources video.

Dammit I need to avoid the temptation of a 4th GTA SKU in my library...

There's a link to very well documented stats in your own OP.

Slightly off-topic, but considering all the stuff that's been going on world-wide - it's been kind of nice to come here and people are still arguing over the same silly things in games. Me included in that, of course. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

If you look it from outsider perspective, it's fun to read these debates.
Sometimes, you get people type Einstein level of debate.

I added it later. By the time I edited the message with the link to the stats and even the text Riky had already watched the video, seen the stats, drawn his conclusions and posted a message. All in a few seconds. Amazing, because as you said I was the OP and I hadn't had the time to watch the video or see the stats yet, which is what surprised me a bit. 🤷‍♂️

By the way, the stats say Series S drops into the 30s. Isn't that a bit too much even for VRR to save the day?

I opened the stats straight away, why does that upset you. It took like seconds to see it's 99% locked, talk about triggered.

I’m really not interested in the stats, but I can tell you that the fidelity mode on PS5 looks great (as I’m sure it does on Series X), just a few instances of pop-in have stood out, but that’s about it.

One thing that did spring to mind whilst playing was how much better GTAV handles distant traffic in the game compared to Cyberpunk.

Tbh, I’m really enjoying the game, especially with the dualsense and 3D audio support and the nice, sharp visuals and smooth frame-rate are the icing on the cake.

Considering the age of GTAV, I reckon it now looks and runs better than the latest Watchdogs game. It certainly plays better, that’s for sure.

Guess it didn't get as much of loving as the others, aggressive DRS and further settings reduction should be used to make sure performance doesn't drop that far, but I'm no R*.

Ok I have a theory:

Sony and MS use 30fps modes on native 4K to sell their pro versions because they will deliver 4K60fps

I hope to hell they don't use a 10 year old game to market mid gen consoles lol

Besides, performance RT mode seems to be the best one.

That's the version I'll be playing.

Nothing much in it between the PS5 and the X, but PS5 higher clock frequencies winning out in some of the alpha-heavy scenes.

Big factor here is price. I won’t pay £19 for this, but I would pay £8.75. So I advise anybody that’s not played it on the PS5 to get it now. Great game, great performance, great price.

XSS slightly disappointing with its frame drops.

I absolutely hate that they didn't give an option to just buy the story and skip MP on Xbox, I have no interest in MP but a tenner for this campaign is right up my alley.

I think I tried the online mode once back on the PS4, but I recall getting ganged up on and killed within minutes, so I didn’t bother going back 😂 How is the online mode nowadays?

The price to me seems pretty good, I still have not finished the single-player, i stopped at some point where i had to fly a plane through massive hoops, I must of crashed 20 times in total, either i am the worst pilot on the planet, Hire me Easy-Jet or the controls were a bit shite. It's probably just me lol "lollipop_disappointed:

damn thats a huge difference.

Seems like its a normal thing for games to perform better on PS5.

You're literally looking at the first percentile.

The average and most importantly the frame consistency numbers are as follows. It's gonna take some real effort to try and spin these in either direction. They're virtually identical running at a consistent 60 FPS 99.8 and 99.4 % of the times respectively in Performance mode.

Frame Rate Statistics
Mean Frame Rate59.89fps59.68fps

Frame Time Counts
16.67ms19923 (99.82%)19783 (99.47%)

Yes, so much for the virtual teraflops again.

Now wait for the usual excuses, from tools being not ready to devs hating Xbox because reasons.

My dude, 1st percentile means 99% of the recorded frames were above that reading.

Or are you deliberately ignoring the mean and frame time numbers ?

Edit: never mind, just noticed the triggered emoticon on my last post.

Carry on.

We're 43 posts in, and the only one bringing it up is someone having a ratchet and clank avatar.

Good job bro.

And there's literally no differences with the x and ps5, but nice narrative.

Pretty much identical. I liked how the performance is solid on both. Not going to buy this again but I’m happy that it’s solid. The remasters are a different story.

The systems are equivalent.
The 2020 claims were just a bunch of marketing bullshit.
PS5 high clock frequncy is proving to be more beneficial in many games than the theoretical peak teraflops.

These comparisons will be interesting again when Pro systems are released in 2023/2024.
On current systems the story is already clear.

Are there no FPS stats for the quality mode and performance RT mode?

Edit: Added now it seems.
