Interesting. I feel like most people would notice if their XBOX clocks were always off by a few minutes every few hours. Hopefully it's nothing widespread.

Reminds me of bootleg/reject Tag Heuer watches in Thailand, they look legit but that shit is gonna off by a few minutes at some point, lol.
I think if you're connected to the internet it sets it via NTP. So the clock doesn't get that out fo sync.

Tbh u don't think you can use the ghosting test on an Xbox.

I don't think xbox edge is the same as pc Edge (which no one uses anyway), so I doubt it can detect it like a real pc hardware.

Would actually be hilarious if DFs XsX was having this issue and has resulted in the narrative that the PS5 is the better performing console in some games.

Edit: Because i dont think folks get it and are assuming im a MS warrior for this post.... obviously this isnt the case, i just think it would be hilarious if it was the case. Didnt think i needed to explain this but here we are
This is exactly why this article was made. Some trying REEEEALLY hard to spread the butter on the bread.

Or could be neither🤷‍♂️

Well I mean I think a lot of folks would rather prefer that to some of the alternatives when you're talking about performance issues with some multiplats on the console.

Maybe the Series X (and S if anyone wants to check those) is getting confused whenever a game uses single-threaded mode on the CPU. That's a 5.55% difference in clock speed.

Software switching the CPU state between SMT and non-SMT could be something causing the bug, it's an interesting theory. Better that than something at the hardware or architectural level, definitely.

"My normal XSX shows 60 FPS and 60Hz. My slower XSX shows 63 FPS and 63Hz. This is consistent with a slow clock. The function to calculate FPS will count more frames if time runs slower."

I'm getting FPS between 54 and 60 and a stutter warning.

Edge is the only thing I have open so don't know what that is all about. Games have been running completely fine though.

So this is something OS related, likely at the kernel level. At very least they need a critical firmware update. Wonder if it's something with the OS apps hypervisor layer, maybe the OS kernel is having an issue keeping the hypervisor layers synced and that's why game performance (in your case) is good but using apps causes the lower clocks.

I'm getting the same thing.

*after a full shutdown and retest, I'm at 60 and 60. Probably OS related.
