haha, honestly, anything but what I already got. some of the other weapons would be nice, especially that glaive or the fusion. maybe the other armor pieces I still don't have yet. but oh well, I'm not in a hurry or anything.
I gotcha. This raid has only a couple weapons that I want. The exotic is a Pulse Rifle but I don't like the look of it, lol. So I won't be chasing to get that. In Deep Stone Crypt, I was going after Eyes + Posterity (Hand Cannon) and in Vault of Glass, I was only going after Fatebringer but I ended up getting the Vex Mythoclast. I will have to check again what the armor pieces are like but I think I've already got the look for my Guardian that I want. I am also not in a hurry to get everything from this raid.

This is £13 if you buy an Argentine Xbox key and redeem through VPN. Is this all I need to get in to Destiny 2? I’m mainly interested in PVP but want some good weapons.
What is an Argentine Xbox key? You will need Beyond Light & The Witch Queen to unlock all sub classes. For crucible only, that should be enough. I mean, you can just play Crucible with F2P.

EDIT
Ah, I think you meant Argentina. lol. Can you get that and redeem it with your main Xbox account?

Yeah, you literally just sign in to the Xbox site as usual on a desktop, enable a free Chrome VPN and set to Argentina and redeem the code to your account as normal.

I think both Banshee and Ada-1 are selling 4 mods at a time right now, but accord to my friend they had yet to sell any of the Elemental Well mods so far. hopefully Bungie would do something about this (HA, fat chance).

did another VOD run today and got the exact same drops I got last week, gloves, body, bound and pulse... for crying out loud... sigh...

I’ve only get helmet robes and bond from it…

I spent an hour playing Wellspring Attack (which is terrible) today looking for red border auto rifle drops, not only is it boring af but I only got one red border weapon and it was a scout.

Zero chance I'm completing that crafting quest :messenger_sleeping:

Isn't it just a single weapon per day? Like it tells you in the Director what weapon you have a chance of getting before you launch into Wellspring and it rotates daily?

Considering how much they like time-gating stuff, and the Wellspring is essentially time-gated with its rotation, I'm not sure why they don't give you a guaranteed red border drop on your first completion of the day. Or at least one a week?

I know they said they were buffing the drop rate. I don't know if that has happened yet. But I'm only hitting Wellspring for the Pinnacle until they fix it, especially with the exotic glaives coming out as a wet fart.

See, this is a major gripe I have with Bungie. I HATE these 6 person seasonal activities. They force you to run them an obnoxious amount of times for rolls, except now we have to run even more for red border guns. Once you have your guns/alloys you will NEVER return to the activity, which means people who may pick up later from word of mouth will have less and less people playing it, and an even harder time for them to get the weapon. D1 system needs to return. World Weapon and Armor drops/Vanguard/Crucible+Gambit/IB/Trials. All updated seasonally, stop locking weapons behind these boring activities, and just give us more story missions, a Story Playlist with modifiers, and more strikes with specific loot in the STRIKE! not NF. I haven't even gotten back into the raid after Day 1, and I honestly feel tired of this season already. I don't enjoy running around trying to accomplish stuff when my teammate has 1200 mini nova blasts going on, or is just apeing thru shit with an unlimited ammo glaive, meanwhile, I'm trying to level up an actual gun...in a gun game. Mini rant over, your idea of a guaranteed 1 per day is the best option here.

Yeah that point you're making about leveling a gun while people nuke everything around with OP stuff. So I play on PC, and I use the D2 Solo Enabler to play things like strikes or even patrol areas by myself. You get this big pile of bounties, and you're trying to knock shit out... say you shoot a rocket at big group of enemies, and then someone just takes them all out with some bullshit firefly explosion or whatever before your rocket lands. It's just so frustrating to get stuff done with randoms around, or frankly even playing with friends. It's a sad state of affairs but playing this big social multiplayer game in solo mode really cuts down on the frustration sometimes.

That's right it was auto rifle day, the red scout was from the weekly challenge reward otherwise I would have gotten zero reds. I also don't understand why Wellspring Attack has barely even enough enemies for a solo player to fight whilst everyone stands around waiting for the vehicle to move to the door

It's important to them that any matchmade modes carry zero chance of failure. So if you want stuff to shoot at you have to LFG the master difficulty. It's still not what I'd call 'good', but it's more engaging. Still not worth grinding at the drop rates you get.

Random note but what's with Destiny players running over to revive a teammate... When I'm stood right there doing it already!!! Same thing when I'm activating a switch, I've been seeing this phenomena for 5 years now and it still baffles me

Heh. I think that's a good thing if people are trying to revive you or competing with you to revive.

Finally cleared the raid yesterday between 2 LFG groups. Not really a fan to be honest. There wasn't enough build up for me to care about Rhulk in the slightest, I've got the Fusion/Glaive/SMG/Grenade launcher...and not sure I like any of these using them, even with decent to good rolls on them. I will say, just like most D2 raids, the super heavy mechanic/symbol crap really makes the runs either good, or pure awful experience. We had 1 kid in the group I was in that got to the third encounter and he added a good hour to hour and a half of deaths. We literally cleared Caretaker first attempt after he left...like easily. Not sure I care for the third encounter just being a speed encounter, we had one guy that wasn't grasping it and since EVERYBODY has to be involved we kept wiping due to it. We got lucky and finally had a 6th that was very good at explaining and sherpa..ing? the group. Got the boss after a couple wipes just learning the mechanics.

At first impressions, this is easily in the bottom half of all Destiny raids for me, it's not as bad as the Raid Lairs or Leviathan for me..but I think it's near the bottom for enjoyment level. I miss Raids being about Lore and just killing shit more then memorizing images and speeding through encounters.

I didn't like Deep Stone Crypt initially but after doing multiple runs, I ended up liking it. I also have enjoyed most of the encounters of Vault of Glass. The other raids you mentioned I never got to try since during that time I was mostly doing strikes + crucible and patrols (after completing campaign). Anyway, I don't like the look of any of the weapons from the new raid lol.

Grasp of Avarice is my favorite dungeon though. It's so fun.

I like Grasp but the cannon section is really boring. I think Prophecy is still a little better. Also a better challenge to solo/flawless.
I actually really liked that encounter and still do. I thought it was a nice change of pace when I was running the dungeon the first time through.

I liked it first time through, it's just kind of slow after that. Moving the cannons, seeing the next servitor... and then combat is very low energy. And even in master mode the combat doesn't get challenging in a good way. It's just hope you don't get ambushed by that teleporting overload psychopath captain before you notice and stun him.

A good change would be to have servitors just spawn at all points, or maybe 4 points simultaneously. That way everyone could split up and solo a servitor to speed up standard runs.

Good tip, thanks.

I didn't quite find the price you mentioned, but I grabbed Beyond Light + Witch Queen for $36 after the various fees. It's just going to make my life as far as getting good Trials weapons so much easier. And if I'm visiting family or something I can pack up the Series X pretty easily whereas the gaming PC is a no-go.

I like your suggestion on servitor spawns — it would have been interesting if each Guardian could take care of one station and then re-group for the final encounter.

so, with this week's Operation Elbrus quest update, the story just made me hate Crow even more than I already did (I didn't even think it's possible). if they REALLY are trying to set him up to take Cayde's place, they better have one hell of a redemption story in store because right now, even more than back when they first put Crow into the game, I'm leaning more towards shooting his ass and his ghost together with him.

Enjoying it. I mean, it’s more Destiny, more grinding. It’s my comfort game.

Only disappointment is Glaives. They suck. First person melee just doesn’t work.

I’m right there with you on glaives and swords. It’s like they took the be more like Warframe talk literally, when the community was only referencing how they’re open and honest when discussing there game with the community. I’d rather they eliminate some of the weapons and work to balance the smaller pool.

is there anyway to run strike stuff without matchmaking? my friend who's new to the game want to try running them without everyone rushing through it so he was asking me about it and I have no idea how to do it.

Not sure if they are on pc, I think on consoles if you change the date on your system it will cause the game to set them into their own server basically. At least it used to do this I’m pretty sure. Could try that on pc as well if there

That's worked well for me, there's some notice of it potentially crashing the game but I can't say I noticed it personally.

That's PC only, if you're playing this game on console well hey man you dug your grave now lie in it :)

(Might be able to replicate what D2SE does on your router for console but I never looked into how complex the firewall rules are and I'm guessing it won't be nearly as convenient as this one click toggle)

thanks for the info. both of us play on PC so I'll let him know and try these out. I know a lot of people just run strikes as fast as possible but I can also understand some folks want to take it slow and take in the scenery.

For sure, at least the first time you do a Strike. It's very easy to play this game and never even really learn the mechanics of a Strike. The whole design is ass-backwards, higher level content has no matchmaking, and that's where you need bodies... easier content *forces* matchmaking. I can't think of a single rational argument for not just having solo strikes in the UI. It's far less challenging than a lot of content people solo. But it also changes the Strike from something completely trivial where you either curb-stomp it, or if you're new to Destiny fall behind while the other two players kill everything before you're even in the right room, to something at least somewhat engaging. And solo mode is just a good way to learn the Strikes, understand all the basic mechanics, how to trigger boss phases, etc, before you try it in a Nightfall context (where once again they have matchmaking for the low levels, but Master/GM you have to seek out players by yourself).

Even as an experienced player who has done Conqueror a number of times I prefer to load into solo Strikes. It's not as boring, and usually if I'm going into Vanguard Ops I'm knocking out bounties. And it's no fun trying to knock out bounties when say you're investing your heavy ammo into a group of dregs and before your rocket hits someone has nuked all of them with Trinity Ghoul or some shit.

The only reason I ever load into patrol zones without D2SE is just me being lazy. There's no benefit to having a random player in my patrol zone with maybe the exception of a couple of the Heroic Public Events where it's hard to trigger/complete them with just one body.

I’ll be honest, Vox Obscura is one of the worst missions they’ve put out in years, and the Master version REALLY cements that for me. Over reliance on champions to create difficulty (champions suck), over reliance on cheap shot enemies to create difficulty, and the vehicle combat in this game is so so bad and they decided to make the vehicle section timed AND a darkness zone.

It’s the only thing from this season I flat out don’t like, and I feel like it’s easily the worst exotic mission this game has ever had.

I was hoping the master would be like Presage. Although the last boss in that was tricky (specially in the beginning with his teleporting). I ran the master with a good group of people and we failed a few times where we had to start over but after that we were all able to time through each encounter so easily that it ended up being a nice challenge. We also had one guy drop on us (probably a disconnect). It was fun. Doesn't seem like Vox's will be. Eek.

The final boss of Cox is the only part I almost liked? The arenas cool, the boss fight isn’t bad, even if it is basically just Proving Grounds but slightly different. The turrets can absolutely go to hell.

Oh yeah I hate the turrets. Even in normal strikes when you've got a bunch of 'em, they can be very annoying.

I really hope they fix gambit issues with this patch today... i'm one of those weirdos that actually enjoys the gambit mode so it really frustrates me to see the one tap Eriana's Vow bs happening.

sainraja

Is the one tap with Eriana's Vow happening because of the perks the gun has? That's one hand cannon I don't use much.....but anyway, if that is the case, isn't it working as intended? I guess I haven't experienced it yet but to me if the gun is designed to work a certain way, people should be able to take advantage of that.

Completely agree with you on Vox. I hate it, like alot. Still need the Master Clear, tried LFG a couple times but people trying don't seem to realize that going in underleveled without proper loadouts isn't smart. I hate timer missions too, once in a while....sure, but this whole exotic mission crap always having a stupid timer that gives no room for error just makes the activity unfun. Maybe I'll try again just to get the catalyst and never play it again. Bungie continues to just not get what kept us coming back were the guns and the fun, not BS timers and FOMO.

I've completed the master version 2 days ago. You can actually cheese the first part. When you start, kill the champion in front of the bunker. Go inside the bunker, kill the ads and the other champion. Blow up the door, but after you go out, immediately go towards the right. This leads towards the entrance of the 2nd part of the mission with the tanks. From this entrance, shoot the single tank thas on the bottom from a distance with rockets or linear fushions. After you blow up the tank, grab your sparrow and blast towards the 2nd part. There will be no ads or tanks, and you can grab the rocket cart thingie (forgot the name) and blow up the shields and generators. As soon as you have destroyed all 3 of them, let the other 2 players hide behind the generator while the other one rides back to the entrance. This will spawn the ads and tanks. Just focus on the 2 tanks with rocket launchers. As soon as you have those 2 defeated you'll progress to the next part.

Presage and Harbinger didn't even have timers did they? Aside from Master mode on Presage? I don't know. I like timers and feel like they're pretty damn rare in this game. I want more ways to efficiently progress in this game rather than everything being super grindy.

As for Vox specifically, I enjoyed it.. the tank bit was frustrating for a while where early on you're not even killing the tanks in time, then you kill the tanks with like 10 seconds left and then it's like shoot these 9 shield generators and 3 towers and you're like "fuck!". But then all the little tricks you come up with to get through it as fast as possible come together and next thing you know you're clearing it with 2-3 minutes to spare.

No, the vehicle combat is not good, and I don't it to show up all over the game... but at least in this small context I find it pretty fun.

Then the second half timer I mean that just never even was a factor for me. My standard loadout for Witch Queen has been that first glaive you craft, plus Gjally, and whatever for primary (usually it's just something decent that deals with barrier or overload).

The thing that really sucks about this exotic quest compared to earlier ones is why the hell is the pinnacle reward for killing X champions? You get to like 52% or something on a normal run... you want us to run it 6 times a fucking week for pinnacles? Huh? So obviously you just cheese it by getting to the second half, killing the two yellow bars and suiciding like 7 times because that's going to be a hell of a lot faster than a whole second run of Vox. Just tedious.

I haven't tried master mode, so I can't comment there, I just hope it's fun to do solo.

The only D2 I've played in the past couple of weeks really was doing pinnacles on my Titan last night, well not quite all the pinnacles, just all the +2s, because the +1 pinnacles I've learned are not even worth it. I only bother with them when powerful/primes can also get me to the next level, and I usually regret doing that too. For context I did most/all of the pinnacles on all characters the first two weeks (being pretty efficient with the math), along with lots of bounties to level the artifact, then did that session last night and my Titan is 1558+16=1574. So should be a pretty leisurely paced week to get ready for GM nightfalls.

I don't think Harbinger had a master mode. If it did I am forgetting. Presage definitely had one and there was a timer.

he hits some good points there that I completely agree with when it comes to some of the gameplay stuff. I would love to see them make Strike to be able to run without match making to start with. changes to more gun focus would also be good, thou right now I feel it's not as bad as he thinks and just need some small adjustments. and of course, Gambit needs a complete rework or sunset altogether, but that's nothing new. personally, I feel maybe they can make it so that you have to use your own motes to trigger invade by yourself only or something. and killing invaders should also get reward with something like healing the invader side's boss or what not. and finally the New Light thing is totally on point, especially right when I have a friend coming into the game completely new, all those things became very glaring issues. overall, game is still very enjoyable but can definitely use some more improvements.

Trying to run GoA with LFG randos for the Gjallahorn catalyst ... a day or two ago we got all the way to the end and the last yellow bar and chest wouldn't spawn. Did everything correct up to that point, no one left and went back to orbit etc. Then today i get halfway through the part with the last yellow bar enemy and my INTERNET DIED. Arghhh never gonna get this stupid thing.

To me personally, it's the best Destiny 2 expansion, and falls just short of the impact that Taken King had. Solid story for sure, the season pass story stuff that I think goes with Witch Queen was ok...I suppose. Best expansion for D2, but sandbox feels like a mess to me, and the grind to get enough of the guns for the small amount you can craft just isn't worth the time IMO. Size of the expansion is very similar to TTK, if you enjoy the lore it's good for sure, maybe avoid buying the season pass bundle as those always suck.

so, this has been disabled for obvious reasons. but imagine if this wasn't caught on day 1 raid and someone ran it instead? would be so hilarious :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Bruh they just killed the only two things that made glaives useable….
Suppressing Glaive now requires 10% Glaive shield energy. When you have suppressing Glaive on, every melee hit drains energy.
Glaives no longer can stun lock enemies.

The exotic glaives were already useless, now they’re even worse.
