Do you want an open-world Sekiro game?

It would be amazing but its never going to happen with a japanese studio, they don't have enough money, time or enough staff to create an open world with the excellent bespoke artistic design of Sekiro.

I want its combat yes, but in a sci-fi world, cyber ninja and stuff. Tired of medieval/fantasy. Time to move on to sci-fi souls.

Ooft good shout, that would be ace beans.

I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.
Gonna be honest here, as a Souls fan, Sekiro is very stressful to play.
I dont really fancy the counter focused gameplay.

Nah keep open world for Elden Ring 2. I want a tighter experience in a more action focused game like Sekiro. I would want them to focus on expanding the combat mechanics in a hypothetical Sekiro 2. Maybe have a light and heavy attack button along with the trick weapons. Have actual different main weapons; stuff like that.

No,

Actually, i don't want another sekiro at all, bring me more dark souls, more like the first one but with updated combat, and maybe revisit Bloodborne for a sequel

I'm usually not a fan of open-worlds, and I do think From's games work better as a more focused experience, but a medieval Japan/sengoku era (or even earlier, Heian jidai) Fromsoft open-world ? Hell yes, I would love to see it.

No. Open world pushes in the direction of extensive character growth over the course of many hours, which works for a Souls successor, but Sekiro is not that.

Keep it tight.

The game worked so well because of its linear design. It was such a fucking tight game, still one of my favorite souls likes. However, It would be cool to explore expansive environments teased by the lore. I would love to explore the birthplace of the Divine Dragon.

Most definitely. The open world nature of Elden Ring is the reason I decided to play my 1st FromSoftware game.

I've yet to even finish my 1st play through, but ER is definitely one of my favorite games ever.

The idea of their previous games always seemed too daunting a task because of the more linear style progress.

Clearly they do both well, so let them make games for both styles.

I would buy an open world samurai game from FromSoftware without hesitation.

No. I want FROM to do new IPs with ultra punishing difficulty focused on refined combat mechanics as they did in Sekiro, rather than going for expanding existing systems on large scale.

This is not to say I wouldn't be happy to hear they are making one, but I'd be happier with a current-gen linear sequel before their next open-world giant, Elden Ring 2 or whatever that is.

They were linear in-name only. Like many rpg’s you were very much capable of backtracking and they have tons of branching pathways. The only real difference between ER from the rest of the souls series is a big map instead of a bunch interconnected maps

Elden Ring works because of the variety. Being constrained to a katana, firecrackers, and weapon arts in a 100-150 hour game? Nope.

...which is the reason why an open world Sekiro game should have character building flexibility, yes.

Currently playing Sekiro, and I think it benefits from its semi-open world, interlinked structure.

From what I'm hearing about Elden Ring, it's sprawling, and a bit unstructured, and repetitive for the final third.

I like Sekiro just fine the way it is, and the game is comfortably 40+ hours if you hit every sculptor idol, get every prosthetic, take on every boss etc.

No,ER is my last From open world game, i just put 165 hours on my first playthrough, just started my Journey 2 and i regret so much, i dont have time or gas 2 put this much hours on 2 more runs.

I prefer the old style

no, sekiro was perfect the way it was, an interconnected world works way better with the stealth action adventure type game it was
Agree, Sekiro combat is much more focus and is less about character building, so Sekiro doesn’t need open world game for exploration like Elden Ring did.

Not really, i don't like Sekiro's combat too much and exploring was not all that fun in the game, i don't see much to gain on that specific formula.

Bloodborne on the other hand....hnnng

love me some open world games but its a no for me dogg.

I actually like how the world already is in Sekiro, as we can sorta call it open world to a degree, simply closed off by bosses. So......I'm ok with what they did already and don't see it being more opening doing much for me as its just too combat focused for me to feel I'm getting much by a larger world.

Its simply not a Elder Scrolls, AC RPG type thing where a deep narrative exist to reward that concept. I just play those games for combat and don't see a bigger world then what they already did before doing much for me.
